Marlene would burst into a fit of laughter, then smile down at the princess, placing a finger against her own cheek. "That's because they've been keeping a secret from us. Men like to say that they think with their heads, but they always think with their hearts. Especially the young ones."

"And that, my dear, makes them stubborn and stupid. Still, they're rather endearing at times."

"Try not to worry about it too much, yes? I'm certain he'll warm up to you."

-------------------------------

Sofi would sigh and and plop down on a nearby treestump, letting the little knight rest on her leg.

"It seems so. I mean, I'd head home but.. it's probably not safe to go back by myself, even with my summons.."

She'd look down at her lap, realizing something horrible. She was scared. The elves were all whispering about the situation with Derengia at this point, and the prisoner, and the raid..

-----------------------------------------

Nelia would blink in surprise at Pollinore. What an observant one. Few seemed the notice her eyes when she started to speak. The effect did laster longer when she split herself, though.

A shame.

She would blink, the eyes vanishing as quickly as they had come, and smile politely at her. The effect of her words would linger, and she looked normal once more. There was always the threat of this happening when she activated her powers, but she'd take care of it. Frowning slightly, she'd cock her head to the side somewhat, taking on a worried expression.

"Are you alright, miss knight? I assure you, if you see any threats, we can handle it."

-------------------------------

[THYME SKEEP]

As the group entered the slums, Alice did her best to not look physically ill. She wasn't particularly good at hiding her displeasure though, her nose wrinkling somewhat and her arms pressing close to her body. Her sword was neatly wrapped to look like a package and was slung across her back. Tucked in her belt was a knife, one that would be familiar to Milano and possibly the other members of the group besides Valery.

Gripping the handle of the knife, she walked closer to Lily than she normally would, their arms brushing together every so often. it was horrible. Even the less profitable towns in Ardania didn't look this terrible. Or smell this terrible. or have ladies of the night roving the streets! Could they not afford a proper brothel?

As one said prostitute approached, Alice fixed them with a glare, closely watching her interaction with Milano. Millie? Work the streets? her mother was..? Alice looked at Milano closely for a moment, tightening her lips into a thin line. Well, she wasn't unattractive, was she? Alice couldn't help but agree that it was good that Milano did not work the streets, but this would be for a different reason. But really, was Milano any better off where she was? The issue with Gawain..

Alice shook that thought process off. Why did she even care? Milano was merely their guide.

When Milano stated they should keep moving, Alice was only too happy to oblige.

Polly kept her sword raised. In her mind, there was somewhat of a fierce debate between the part of her that wanted to instantly trust this elf; and the part of her that could tell she was being conned.
Clearly she should try to gather more evidence that the elf was an imposter.

"If you're really you, tell me what you said to me last night under the full moon!" said Polly.

The elf hadn't really said anything last night under a full moon; but the imposter wouldn't know that.

--

(Time keeps on skippin' skippin' skippin...)

As Lily got her first look at the Derrengian capitol in a very long time; she was disheartened to find that it hadn't changed a bit since the last time she'd seen it.

Sure, the place wasn't surrounded by piles of dead giants anymore; and the wall and the battlements had been repaired. But the people were still hungry, the river still stank, and there was still shit everywhere.

She gave Alice a concerned look. The maid was clearly out of her element here. She put a hand on her friend's shoulder.

"So, I guess we have a nice new embarrassing nickname for Milano here," said Lily, attempting to raise Alice's spirits by teasing Milano. "Isn't that right, Milliekins?"

Candy thought she was being laughed at at first, but as she went on, Marlene actually did get Candy to smile, "Alright, I'll just wait and try talking to him again some time," she gave Marlene a happy look, and added, "Thanks,"

--

(so i herd u liek tiem skyps?)

Valery knew she had to be quiet. She wasn't too good at this though as she pointedly held her nose and made little comments about the smell as they went. But even she was discouraged by the general feel of the place, the atmosphere. It was clear this was a place where people could do nothing but rot. It was horrible, something you'd never see back in the mines. She made a mental note to never return to this city.

Valery wasn't too excited for the Jester's joke, but she seemed to be trying to lighten the mood so she decided to join in, "Hah, so how much farther Milliekins?" she gave Milano a pat on the back.

"Nnng," Milano flushed at the nickname. She knew she was going to regret letting the jester find that out. Even so, she kept quiet. She was used to the Jester's teasing. At least she had planned to keep quiet, but then the dwarf had joined in and ruined any poise she had left, "Nnnn... Don't call me thaat!" It was a half demand, half whine as she stumbled forward from the dawrf's pat. The girl instantly caught herself, trying to amend for her uncharacteristic behavior, "Oh, uhm, I'm sorry."

"So are we there yet..." Arielle quirked and eyebrow but otherwise kept her expression neutral, "Milliekins?"

"Uuu..." Milano sighed dejectedly, "Yes, we're here." She said stopping in front of a very small and run down building.

-----

Claude was a perceptive boy. He knew when someone was feeling down. So he knelt down and grabbed hold of the girl's hand, "Do not worry, I will not let anything happen to you," He gave her a light assuring squeeze, "I'll see about getting us an escort home."

Marlene would smile pleasantly and give the princess another small pat on the back. "Good."

She then proceeded to plop back down in a seat, the nglance thsi way and that. Where had that Pollinore gone off to? The pricnes was back here, so she should be too. This was cutting in to her designated flirting time horribly.

----------------------------------------

Sofi would look up at Claude in surprise and shakes her head side to side, raising her hands defensively.

"Huh? No! You don't have to do that. I don't want to just leave the others and.. the princess is here and we're her.. people so.."

Sofi would sigh, hiding her face in her hands. ".. Does it make me weak that I want to go home?"

-----------------------------------------

Nelia had to resist a sly smile. Oh, how cute. This knight thought it could play mind games with her, a succubus. Even weakened by splitting her powers in two, Nelia was the master of that sort of thing.

Acting shy, Nelia would place her hand to her cheek, flushing brightly. "Oh dear knight, I can'tve spoken with you last night. I was far too busy with that handsome young man you brought with you."

"A night of passion I won't soon forget..."

She'd sigh, a deep, romantic sort of sigh. A young maiden in love.

-----------------------------------------

At first, Alice was able to simply disregard the nickname. it was cute, but it was not really worth pointing out. Then Lily did. Then Valery did. What really got to Alice though, was when Arielle, too, referred to Milano as 'Milliekins'. Lifting her hand, she had to press it against her mouth in order to smother laughter that threatened to escape.

"Pff.." Trying to stop it made a little amused noise come out, followed by her body shaking with amused nad nervous laughter, then a snort. She snorted.

As fast as she had started laughing, Alice dropped her hand back to her side, expression once again serious. She cleared her throat. "Anyway, Milli-.. Milano. This is.. ?"

She looked at Milano, her lips quirking a bit as the nickname returned to her mind. Biting it back, she looked back at the little run down building. Was it some sort of storage area? Like a shed?

Lily grinned as everyone began referring to Milano as Milliekins. She would have to remember to call her that forever. She would probably have half the castle calling her that when they returned.

--

Polly blushed beat red. She had not meant to imply that she and the elf had done anything. She was also unaware of the elf's 'meeting' with the boy last night. And would have liked to remain unaware.

"I appologize. It was wrong of me to pull a sword on you," said Polly.

"Of course not, Mon cherie," Claude assured in a soft and comforting tone of voice, "You have no obligations to the princess, me, or anyone else. If you truly wish to return home, then that's what you should do. No one will think less of you."

He then patted her thigh softly before standing up, "I'll go see about getting us some food." He turned, speaking once more before leaving, "Think about what I said in the meantime."

----

When even Alice was trying to contain her laughter at the nickname, Milano tried very hard not to groan aloud and bury herself in the sand. She will never live this down. Ever.

She walked up to the door and began to open it, only pausing to address Alice, "Yes, this is the house me and my brother grew up in."

Once inside, you could tell it had went untouched for a few days. The house consisted of two rooms, one in the front where the stove, a low table, and cushions (instead of chairs) were place. The back room was the bedroom. It had been divided in two with a long curtain to give Lance and Milano their respective privacy. Instead of beds were place mats and in the corner of the room was a chest. This is where Milano went to retrieve clothes for herself and the other women.

Meanwhile, Arielle had opted to sit down on one of the cushions to wait for Milano to finish getting the disguises together. The elf was not unused to similar accommodations in the elven camps. Though, she could tell at least two of her companions were far out their element. It amused her just a bit.

Nelia would smile pleasantly at Polly.

"Don't worry about it. I will need to ask you tow mvoe away from the prisoner. It wouldn't be good if he managed to use my distraction to escape. Also.."

Nelia would glance around Polly, smirking.

"You seem to have someone upset with you.

Behind Polly stood Marlene, who had come to check on the knight and seen the elf woman flirting would her. Grabbing Pollinore's arm, she would point at Nelia. "This one belongs to me."

Pollinore was then forcibly dragged by the witch back to the princess.

----------------------------------

[TIME SKIPPU HERE TOO]

Time passed, and Nelia eventually switched out with another elf. This was fine for now. It was not yet night and she had enough information on the magic protecting on the cage. Time to have a little bit of fun. A little chaos would be useful when it came time to escape ,even if it was only a bit of emotional chaos of those near the cage.

Nelia rubbed her hands together, walking around them camp. Who to play with first?

Walking back, she passed the young boy, Claude, and smirked. Well, he could be fun. She had been watching him and the young girl interact not too long ago. And he was quite the player, so why not start with them? Disappearing into an empty tent, she would step back at as quite the convincing replica of Claude.

Making his way over to Sofi, he would sit down by the young girl.

"Are you feeling any better, my dear?"

Sofi glanced up sharply. She had been thinking about what Claude said this whole time, and nodded. "Yes. And I thought about what you said. You're right, I don't have any obligation.. but Ardania is my home. So I'll stay."

Nelia would smile sweetly, placing an arm around Sofi's shoulders. "I'm so glad. I wouldn't want to be here alone. Elves are nice, but you're much more beautiful.." he'd place his hand under her chin.

Sofi's mouth would go agape, and she stammered, trying to lean away. "W-W-W-.. C-Claude.. what.. stop.."

Sofi would shut her eyes tight, not sure what to think as Claude suddenly kissed her, grinning the whole time. As she leaned away, Sofi just stared blankly. Standing, Claude would give a silent little bow, the walk off, leaving Sofi in shock. Disappearing back into a tent, she'd turn back into the elf from before, chuckling cheerily.

"How fun.."

------------------------

Alice could not be more uncomfortable if she tried. Pressed up against one of the walls, she would cross her arms against her chest. The place was mostly tidy, for a Derengian home, but it had clearly not been used in a couple of days. It showed. She wanted to clean it. And do repairs. And then clean it some more. Was this really Milano and Lance's home. How could anyone be expected to live in such conditions?

If she started cleaning though, she'd probably get mocked, so she pursed her lips and stood there quietly, waiting for Milano to return.

Re: Medieval, Kingdoms of Ardania and Derangia - Repowered

Candy was sitting in her tent at this point, trying to decide on what to say to Lance next time they spoke. This was hard since she was also worried about Alice, and Lyra, and everyone else that had went. Whenever she'd think that she should get her mind off of one of these things, she'd think about the other, and it was near impossible for her to keep her mind distracted from the troubles at hand.

But she knew she couldn't just ignore them anyway, it's not like it'd go away. Sure it wouldn't do to just sit and worry, but there was at least one problem she was having that she could look into doing something about. She didn't want to just go right back to him after saying those things earlier, though, so when she stepped out of the tent, she stretched and looked around for a familiar face. Marlene, Sofi, maybe even Polly. To be honest she was not too sure about Polly though, since he seemed more likely to try and convince her to go back to Ardania sooner.

Oh there's Claude, probably the person she knew the most from around here, since he actually worked at the castle. She walked over to him, "Hello Claude, are you faring well?"

------

"Your house?" Valery couldn't help but turn up an eyebrow at that. Even with the condition of this area, she figured that Milano must have at least been doing well for herself with the queen or something. Then again, she didn't really know much about that kind of thing, so she shrugged to herself.

As Milano went to get clothes, Valery propped herself against a wall, very gently. She was literally afraid that she might knock a hole into it, what with how broken down it was. She felt bad for Milano, for a second, before remembering that she was an assassin or something. Valery wasn't sure what to think now, though. She decided on 'not being angry at Milano for a while' as the way she feels about her for now.

Valery did not consider this to be odd, either.

"Wha..." was all Polly managed to say before Marlene grabbed her by the arm, and dragged her off.

She had no idea why Marlene was upset with her; as she'd only been talking to the guard. She wasn't sure why she'd been so sure the guard couldn't be trusted; but decided to let the matter go for the moment. It seemed unlikely that the guard was going to just run off with the prisoner.

At the moment, Marlene was a more pressing concern. She'd once overheard her brother telling one of his male friends that if a woman was angry at them for unknown reasons; that they should try complimenting her. She hadn't believed at the time that such obvious flattery would work on any girl with half a brain. Then again, her brother HAD brought alot of girls home.

"You...um...have nice hair?" she said, testing her brother's theory.

Unfortunately, she hadn't inherited her brother's way with words.

--

Lily looked around at Milliek...Milano's childhood home. She then said what she assumed everyone at the time was thinking:

"What a dump," she said.

Even though her village hadn't exactly been rich; even her childhood home had been a bit nicer than this. At the very least, they'd had furniture.

However, she quickly shook such thoughts out of her mind. Now was most definately not the time to think of her old village. Especially since they were a two-days' ride from the wastelands where her old village used to be.

The real Claude had been just walking back with a basket of bread and fruit when Candy had stopped to speak with him. "Ah, bonjour ma princesse," The boy greeted with a smile. He would have bowed as per usual, but as he was caring food, he opted not to. "I am doing well. This trip has turned into quite the adventure, no?"

----

When Milano came back from the room, she had already changed into something more appropriate for Derengia and it's climate. Her hair was taken down from it's twin tails and were pulled back into a pony tail. She wore off-white pants that were loose around the legs, her top was dark blue and left her shoulders bare while her arms had detached sleeves tied to them.

She was carrying a bundle of clothing in her arms and had deposited it onto the table, "I wasn't too sure what all of your sizes were, so I grabbed different things for you to try on."

Arielle stood, inspecting the clothing. "I'll take this," She said grabbing a simply tunic and similarly baggy pants as well long cloak to conceal her sword.

(It was hard enough deciding a clothing style for Derengia, let alone clothing for Arielle and Milano so, describe your own clooothing. Think a combination of gypsie, arabian, and medieval.)

Re: Medieval, Kingdoms of Ardania and Derangia - Repowered

Post by Molly on Fri 26 Apr 2013, 11:14 am

Alice picked through a few sets of clothing. Women's clothing, Derengian. All Milano's size. Alice glanced to Milano, then down at herself. This.. wouldn't work. Alice was at least a head taller than Milano and wider.. maybe more her brother's size? Oh, fantastic. Men's clothing. It'd have to do, she supposed.

She pulled out a few articles of clothing, a long, silken patterned coat, a belted button-up v-neck shirt, a white undershirt, a pair of slightly baggy black pants, and tall dark boots. Really, the whole outfit was quite baggy, but it seemed like the sizes to choose from were either too small, shirtless vests or.. this.

Deciding to go ahead and change while the others sorted out their outfits, Alice would slip past into the bedroom, keeping her eyes to herself as not to prey. Depositing her own filthy garments on the floor, she'd switch into the baggier clothing. The effect wasn't too bad. Along with the ponytail, the bagginess did seem to make it seem like she was merely a very effeminate man.

Scooping up her old clothes, she'd slip her sword into the belt of the tunic, which the cloak helped cover. her old clothes here stuffed into the bag she had brought along. Quietly, she leaned back against the wall, tugging at the weird fit of the clothes every so often. At least they were a bit cleaner.

------------------------------------

Marlene would narrow her eyes at Polly, unfazed by the weak compliment. Instead, she'd jab her finger into the middle of the knight's chest. "You!"

"You were flirting with that elf," she huffed, looking indignant.

-------------------------------------

Sofi continued being in a state of embarrassed shock.

Re: Medieval, Kingdoms of Ardania and Derangia - Repowered

Post by Simply David on Fri 26 Apr 2013, 6:52 pm

"It... has, hasn't it?" Candy's smile was a bit forced for a second and she nervously laughed, "But, I'm still optimistic. It's been exciting at least, yes? And the elves are quite nice," she stepped beside Claude in such a way as to allow him to keep walking while she walked beside him, since he seemed to be going somewhere.

----

Valery sighed at the clothing. She didn't like not wearing armor, but oh well. Simpler clothes would be easier to move in at least, allowing for more agility in her attacks. If it wasn't for the practical use she'd probably wear armor under a robe or something, and try to work around that.

After looking through the pile of clothing, she found a nice shirt that probably work. It was sleeveless and blue, and had a matching dark blue wrap that matched it well, and Valery decided that she'd have to cover her hair. She didn't know what pants would make sense to go with it though as she wasn't used to this style, but, she found some pants that were a similar color. They were clearly supposed to be baggy, but Valery shrugged. She saw Alice come back from the other room in new clothes, and went back to where Alice had gone to dress, so that she could dress in private as well. It seems that she had taken a bit longer than Alice to find something that worked for her.

After removing her armor, she hesitated a bit at the underclothes. She looked one quick time to make sure nobody was looking before she quickly removed the rest and put on the new clothes. She didn't know why she was all being shy about this, but whatever, she tried to just shrug it off since she seemed to have changed quickly enough.

When she came back out, she was 'fully' dressed in a tight fitting shirt that covered her torso but not her arms, pants that were maybe a little too baggy considering, and her hair was neatly wrapped up, revealing only a bit of pink hair in the back. She was rubbing her bare arms though, feeling a bit exposed. She looked at Milano's detached sleeves, and decided that she'd grab a pair of those as well, completing her look.

She then put her axe and shield on her back, and waited for whoever wasn't done to finish.

Polly stared blankly at Marlene. She had no idea how to even respond to what the sorceress had just said. She most certainly had not been flirting with that guard. As if she would flirt with a random camp guard that she had just met.

"I was most certainly not flirting with anyone!" said Polly, sounding a bit annoyed. "I do not flirt! Why did you think I was flirting? What kind of girl do you think I..."

She paused, realizing what she'd just said.

"...guy! What kind of guy do you think I am!" she said, hoping Marlene wouldn't catch that.

--

The first article of clothing that Lily picked up was a red cloak. It would probably hide her hair better than anything else in the pile; and hiding her hair was rather important. The rest of her outfit consisted of a rather tight shirt and a skirt that went down to her knees. Her midriff was a bit barer than she would have liked; but that was the style of the region. At least, for people of a certain profession.

She supposed she could pass for a belly-dancer....a belly dancer with a good reason for hiding her face, anyway. Which wouldn't be out of place here.

"And yes, I did find a place to hide knives in this outfit," said Lily, somewhat proudly. "So...are we gonna be in these disguises long enough to justify fake names and backstories?"

Re: Medieval, Kingdoms of Ardania and Derangia - Repowered

Post by NazrinTsunMouse on Fri 26 Apr 2013, 8:50 pm

"Yes, the elves have been quite... generous," There was an underlying meaning in his words that would probably fly over the princess' head. They were nearing Sofi's location and Claude lifted his free hand in the air to greet her, "Ma cherie, I have returned with the food as promised."

---

Despite being first to pick out her clothing, Arielle had went to the back last to change into her chosen attire. Her clothing was ragged and a little torn. Overall, it gave her the appearance of a beggar or a slave. In this way, she would have no need to hide her elven attributes. For elves were a common sight in the slave trade business. Young elven women in particular were in high demand.

When she had came back into the front room, she had noticed much to her chagrin that the dwarf had oh so intelligently put on her shield and weapon without concealing it. "Oi," A light thump to the head to get her attention, "You can't wear those. Normal citizens don't walk around with weapons for the whole world to see. If you must have a weapon, take a dagger you can easily conceal, but the shield and axe stays here."

Whilst Arielle was chastising the dwarf like a mother, Milano had taken to casting lingering glances toward Alice. Though she preferred Alice in more feminine attire, she had to admit that there was an attractive appeal to her crossdressing. The auburn haired woman placed a hand on her chest, feeling it thump just a little bit harder. No, she had to calm down. She was a traitor now. It was better just to forget Alice, she probably already done the same with her.

She was so distracted by this that she had barely noticed Lily's question, "Oh.. ah... only till nightfall, but you should be ready to answer any questions just in case."

Marlene would raise her eyebrows, then smile. Well, now this was far more interesting than being mad, wasn't it? Unfortunately for Polly, Marlene did indeed 'catch that'. Marlene would move in closer to Pollinore, staring slowly at her face.

"'Girl', hm. I'd had a feeling about that.."

--------------------------

Sofi would flinch as she heard Claude's voice, then slowly turn to look at him. Now he was.. with the princess? had he.. would he? he did kiss her so.. how dare he just.. act so nonchalant! Sofi would stand up sharply then stomp over to Claude before giving him a good slap across the face.

"Pig!"

With that, she'd run off further into the camp, flustered.

----------------------------

Nearby the Verall household sat a beggar, and old man clad in rags. Moving, he'd go ind sit against the wall. Poorly constructed homes such as these did tend to have nice, thin walls.

---------------------------

Alice watched the other disappear to change one by one, alternating between glancing at the floor, ceiling, etc. All while she felt eyes on her. Specifically, Milano's eyes. Even as she chuckled at Arielle and Valery's antics, she could still feel Milano glancing at her every so often. What did she want? Alice resisted the temptation to look back at her, frowning slightly. It didn't matter, when this mission was over, she wouldn't have to see Milano any more.

Still, the glances unnerved her. Which wasn't good, as she was already on edge from being in this blasted city.

Finally, she locked eyes with Milano as she glanced at her, narrowing her eyes. After Milano answered the question, Alice let a frustrated comment escape. "We'll just get it done quickly, then. After this, we won't have to bother with each other again," she stated, looking back ahead. "I'm as eager for that as you are." What else could the glances mean? Milano must be tired of her Ardanian tagalongs.. but it would be over soon enough.

Candy did indeed completely miss Claude's implication, but did notice Claude waving at Sofi. She gave Sofi a soft smile and waved as well, but her eyes widened as Sofi moved towards them in such an angry manner. She actually gasped and covered her mouth when Sofi slapped Claude, and walked away.

Candy just stared at Claude, confused more than anything, and wondering what Claude did to deserve that. Thinking about it, Sofi reminded her of when she gets upset, and realized that he probably did deserve it. That or Sofi was now beating herself up for that, like she did after getting upset.

"Um, what was that about?" Candy asked him, after a few moments of staring.

----------

Valery shouted loudly at Arielle for smacking her in the head, "HEY!" and after hearing what Arielle had to say, she turned towards her and pointed at her back, where the axe was, "Look, I don't know how elves do things, but a Dwarf always carries their preferred weapon with them to battle!" She pouted, turning her head sideways and crossing her arms. As if she could just leave this axe here...

Polly's eyes widened. Marlene knew her secret....and didn't seem surprised in the least. This seemed to imply that Marlene had suspected from the start that she was a girl. But that would mean Marlene had been knowingly flirting with someone she suspected was a girl.

"...please don't tell anyone," pleaded Polly.

--

Lily frowned a bit; she'd been hoping Arielle would be a bit more distracted by her new outfit. Then again, she supposed that it was unlikely that an elf would be distracted simply by a skimpy outfit. In fact, she was fairly certain Arielle must have seen loads of skimpy outfits in her however-many-years of life.

She turned her attention to the dwarf. She walked over to Valery, put her hand on the girl's shoulder, and smiled.
"It's ok, you don't have to leave your axe behind, or even try to find a way to conceal it," she said. "Because we can always rescue Lyra without you. We don't need someone on this team who is going to blow our cover because of her foolish pride,"

She said the whole thing with the same smile.

"Oh, and we'll tell Lyra you didn't care enough to help rescue her. So no worries,"

Claude touched his now throbbing cheek. What just happened? Surely he hadn't done anything to upset her. Had he? No, he'd remember offending her. It wasn't the first time he was slapped by a girl, but... those other times had a definite reason. Those other times did not leave him confused and baffled. He could only gape in shock. By time he regained his senses, it was already too late. Sofi was out of sight and there was nothing he could do.

"I wish I knew," He finally answered the princess, his voice surprisingly resigned for the usually optimistic and flirtatious boy.

----

Milano flinched back, Alice's words and glare slapping her harder than any hand could. Her emotions were full of turmoil.

Anger.

Sadness.

Regret.

She wasn't sure what she was feeling more of at the moment. She knew one thing for certain. She'd have to forget about her feelings for Alice. It was too late. She lost her chance. Maybe, she never even had a chance to begin with. She needed to go back, back to when she emotionally distanced herself from everyone. It's for the best.

She flicked on the switch within her and took a deep breath. "Yes, we'll never have to see eachother again. It's better that way," Her voice was distant, colder, just a little bit harsher.
-----

Arielle nodded in approval towards Lily. She was pleasantly surprised by how the jester was handling the situation. She had definitely underestimated her abilities. "Like Lily said, if you don't want to cooperate, then we will leave you here."

Alice didn't seem to notice how badly that stung Milano. Or she didn't care. Tightening her lips into a thin line, she'd merely nod in agreement. "It is."

Turning her attention to the discussion between Valery, Lily and Arielle, she'd walk over and place a hand on Valery's shoulder. "I will carry it on my person. I should be able to tuck it into my belt without raising too much suspicion. It's not so much a battleaxe on me as it is on you," Alice would smile gently.

"Valery, could you come with me for a bit? I'd like to continue our discussion." She was referring to the discussion about the explosives on the horse during the trip here.

Turning, Alice would head to the door, waiting for Valery to catch up. She glances to Arielle and Lily. "We'll be subtle."

---------------------------

Sofi finally stopped storming when she was most likely out of Claude and the princess's field of vision. She'd sit down on a tree stump off near the edge of the camp, resting her face in her hands. It was hot.

---------------------------

Marlene would smile. Oh, this was going to be fun. Reaching out, she'd cup her hand on Pollinore's cheek, smiling sweetly.

"Please. Why would I tell anyone when I can keep this tidbit of information to myself? And potentially use it later."

Tilting her head to the side, the witch would chuckle, a bell-like noise tinged with a bit of playful cruelty.

Candy looked side to side, wondering if she should go find Sofi and find out what the problem was, or if she should stay with Claude and find out what the problem was. Then again, he looked almost as shocked as she felt. What should she do? "Um, Claude, are you suuuure you don't know what happened?" she asked, poking him in the shoulder a little bit.

---------------

Valery stared at Lily, mouth hanging wide open. When did the jester decide to say such things? It wasn't until Alice grabbing her shoulders that she finally snapped out of it, "Yeah well, you shouldn't tell dumb jokes! Of course I'm going!" She pretended to ignore Arielle agreeing with Lily. Then she turned to Alice, "Thanks, sure," she didn't immediately hand Alice the ax, taking a look at it right quick before handing it over. The shield however stayed on her back, but not before wrapping it up in some cloth to make it look like some sort of package, like a plate. That seemed to be fine.

Remembering what Alice was talking about, she actually smirked on the way to the door. Explosives were always fun, no matter the situation. This should prove very interesting. This actually put her back into a good mood despite Lily's taunting.

Pollinore blushed a bit as Marlene touched her cheek. She still couldn't believe she'd let her secret slip so easily. However, she had a feeling she was going to regret it for a while.

"So, it doesn't bother you at all that I'm a girl?" said Polly.

--

Lily couldn't help but smirk a bit as Valery's jaw hung open. Though after a while, she started to wonder if she'd gone a bit too far in her attempt to motivate the dwarf.

Thankfully, Alice was able to snap the dwarf back to reality. Though that look on Valery's face at the mention of explosives made Lily wonder if she should be concerned.

Milano watched Alice and Valery leave the house with cold eyes before turning briskly towards the cobblestone stove. "I'll make some food before we have to leave."

"Allow me to help," Arielle offered, to which Milano nodded to her in agreement. They quickly began preparing food for the group to eat.

----

"I assure you that I have no idea what that was about, ma princesse," Claude let out a sigh, "We should go find her and make sure she is well. I'll go this way and you go that," He point left then right. They would find her quicker if they split up.

As Alice and Valery left the house, the beggar leaning against the side of the house watched them, eyes narrowing. Looking back down at the ground, the figure would smirk and slowly stand.

--------------------

Alice would walk along with Valery, heading back in the direction they had come from. Leaning dow slightly so she could speak in alow voice to Valery, she began explaining her plan.

"That pathway, the one we came though, is used for slave trading, yes? If we took that out.. It could not only severely hamper the slave trade here, but it could also serve as agoid distraction for when we need to flee."

Alice would motion for Valery to stop when they weren't too far from the tunnl. "Is there any way you could make explosives that could be detonated from far away? Or at least, by not having to stand in the tunnel and light them ourselves?"

-----------------

A few minutes after Alice left, she suddenly came back into Milano's home, without Valery. Walking into the kitchen area, she would pause by the doorframe. Clearing her throat, she'd look sheepish as she called out to Milano.

"... Milano? May I ask you to come here a moment?"

----------------

Sofi remained where she was, mentally berating herself for reacting. But, still! How could he do that? She wasn't his girlfriend, nor was she one of his playthings! And after all he said all those kind and supportive things! How could he be such a boar?!

"... He's so insufferable!"

------------

Marlene would smile widely at Pollinore's expression, then giggle at her question. What an adoably naive knight. She'd slide the tips of her fingers across her cheek, cold on hot.

"Why would something such as that bother me? Love is love, regardless of gender. Don't you agree?"

Candy nodded, wanting to talk to Sofi as well, "Yes, we'll have to figure this out," she believed Claude, because after all, why would he lie? In any case, she turned and began searching for Sofi. She called out for her a couple times as she went.

-------------

Valery frowned for a moment, thinking that being far away from it would ruin the point. But whatever worked, she figured, "I see your point. Taking it out would be a good idea," she spoke low, uncharacteristically going along with something subtle, "I am definitely against slave trade. But..." blowing it from a distance? That would be difficult. She wasn't sure she could do it. Technically there was a way, but she wasn't confident in her magic. Though she would never admit that of course.

"I can set it to go off after a certain amount of time, from the moment I light it. But that'll mean we have to not make any mistakes in timing," Valery decided to try the easier option first, see what Alice would say. If this didn't sound good, she'd offer the other route and hope for the best.

Polly was utterly speechless at what Marlene had just said. Had Marlene just made a love confession? Cause that sounded alot like a confession of love. Polly had no idea how to respond. It wasn't that she didn't like Marlene; more like she wasn't quite sure how she felt.

She would have to say something to convey this to Marlene.

"Marlene...I..um....uh...er..."

Unfortunately for Polly, she was still terrible at communication during ackward situations.

--

Lily watched as Arielle and Milano began to cook. She considered helping them, but decided against it. She hadn't cooked her own meals since she'd become royal jester of Ardania. She'd only cooked as a means for survival. She was fairly certain that noone would want to eat her food unless they were stranded in the middle of nowhere with nothing else to eat.

Claude nodded, turning to go in the other direction. His mind swirled thinking of what could have possibly happened to make Sofi so upset. "Ma cherie!" He called out, though he doubted she'd come to him even if she was near. Was it something he said? Surely he did not offend her. Did he? He couldn't be certain. Something had set the girl off. Something he did, even if he didn't know exactly what that was.

----

"I'm busy right now," Milano said curtly to 'Alice'. Did she expect her to drop what she was doing? No, she was done chasing after the blonde. Coming to her every beck and call, "I have to season the meat."

"I can do that," Arielle offered, apparently not having received the memo. Or maybe she just didn't care, "Go on, it might be important."

With a sigh, Milano wiped her hands on a towel and turned toward 'Alice', "Very well, lead the way."

'Alice' would looks surprised by the curtness, and would grin on the inside. It seemed like there was already some conflict amongst the members of the party. Oh, this was going to be fun then. Poor little Milano.

Getting this serious look on her face, which was tinged quite nicely with a sort of hurt look in her eyes, she'd lead Milano out of the kitchen, just into the living area where Lily was. She'd lower her head, looking apologetic.

"I wanted to apologize for the way I have been treating you as of late. I did not put any thought into your side of the story, and that was wrong of me. I am sorry, Milano."

Oh, the emotional whiplash was going to be delicious.

---------------------------------

Alice would ponder this, and nod. "I think that may just work. When we make our escape, which this rescue will probably come down to, we'll need to separate anyway. Lily and Arielle can take Lyra, while you and I lead them down the slave trade tunnels, lighting fuses as we go. Then, we can regroup with them after we've gotten far enough away."

She mused her plan aloud. "I wonder if Milano would allow us to disguise her as Lyra. I mean, she's only a bit taller than her, as she too has elf blood.."

".. Even if it fails as distraction, I'd like to see this tunnel destroyed. This place is already full of enough crime and scum to need such."

----------------------------------

Sofi heard Claude call, spotting him in the distance. Frowning, she'd remain where she was seated. Let him come to her. She wouldn't run away again, but she wasn't about to go out of her way to come to him. She huffed stubbornly.

----------------------------------

Marlene would laugh at Polly's stammering, then smile gently. Ah, goodness. This bashfulness was certainly endearing, wasn't it? Lowering here hand, she would fold both of them on her lap.

"Please calm down, ser knight. There's no need to be so worried, I was merely commenting on how love, in general, should not be based on gender."

She would give a dismissive little wave.

"I will tell no one your secret, so don't worry."

Candy continued looking for Sofi. Though she started to realize that maybe Claude had been the one to go the right way, as she still hadn't come across her. So she stopped calling out for her and simply started sort of looking around.

------------

Humans were pretty smart after all, Valery thought. Alice's plan was pretty cool with her. Lighting them as they went would be perfect, "Alright! I can set them up so that they'll go off only when we want them to. We'll have to move quickly, and set the fuses closer to the exit to be shorter so that nobody will be able to follow. Should we start working on it now?" she was getting excited about it now. This was going to be fun.

Alice would nod, smiling, as the dwarf seemed to approve of her plan. She understood that this Valery wasn't exactly the most subtle, but she was a dwarf. They were excellent with explosives, so she trusted her to do it right.

"Yes, but hold on. I'll be back in a moment, I'm going to get the map of Derengia so we can see exactly how we should do this. Doublecheck on where this tunnel exits to so we know which way to run when we're out."

With that, Alice would head off back to Milano's house, leaving Valery's field of vision.
