Children of Sin: A CYOA
It's dark, damp, and a putrid smell invades your nose, but this isn't what wakes you up. It was the loud, audible scratching heard through out the room as well as the patter of tiny feet. Your best guess is that it's rats making that noise. Well, you're not gonna keep sleeping on the floor if rats are scurrying about.
...
Wait... you're on the floor? W-where are you? This isn't your bed... or did you even have a bed? Your head feels fuzzy and your memory clouded. You look around the room but it's too dark to see anything. Just what happened to you? No, better question. Who are you?
You need to stop and think. Collect your thoughts and figure out what to do next. Or do you wing it and hope for the best?
>First let's collect my thoughts. Try to remember something, anything.
>No, better to save the thinking for later. Let's try and find a way out.
>It's way too dark in here, I need to find a light switch.
>Free
*Note: I will ignore any and all overly ridiculous suggestions. Please be serious in your suggestions, that's all I ask. You can still be humorous, just not ridiculous.

Re: Children of Sin: A CYOA
>Call out to the darkness
"Hello?" You call out hesitantly, your voice echoing in the dark room, "Is anyone there? Anyone who can tell me what's going on...?"
...no response. You weren't sure whether to feel relieved or disappointed. Your indecisiveness quickly ended when you felt something brush across your leg. Settling for the manliest thing possible in this situation, you screamed and stumbled into the wall, feeling a sharp but small pain as you slammed into something jutting out of it. At that exact same time, a dim light suddenly brightened the dark room, allowing you to finally make out what it looked like.
No windows, no doors, not even the tiniest of cracks. That would explain why it was so dark. What it didn't explain was how you got in here in the first place. At least you were right about it being rats, that was somewhat of a relief.
Deciding it was better to ponder this more later, you continued studying the room. There on the other side of the room was a desk. You was sure there was something on it, so you move closer to investigate.
"Only choose one?" You read the note on the desk aloud. You look down at the desk again. A cross, a flint lock, and a book. Apparently you were only supposed to pick one. For what? You had no clue. But this may be the only way to find out where you are and how to get out. In the back of your mind, you wondered if this was maybe the game of some serial killer. Maybe you were playing right into their hands. But what other choice did you have? So you reached to grab the...

These could all come in handy. Take them all. But do it one at a time, so you don't break the rules.

Re: Children of Sin: A CYOA
As soon as your finger tips brushed against the intricately designed cross, you felt a strong tugging sensation. You panicked and tried to pull back with all your might, but it was too late. It already had you in it's grasp. There was no escape, only acceptance into the black abyss.
.....
You awoke to a reddish light shining down on your face. A hand raised to block the light. Wait, was this your hand? It doesn't look like your hand, and you don't remember raising it. Suddenly your body sat up and stretched by no will of your own. Yet it still felt things and saw things. It was strange. And what was stranger was that there was the feathery feeling against your back. You don't remember your hair ever being that long...
"Good morning, Sister Luci," A voice called from the doorway before you had a proper chance to panic.
Your head turned (again by no will of your own) and a soft, high pitched voice that was nothing like your own came out of your mouth, "Good morning, Miss Margaret."
It hit you hard and fast. This wasn't your body. You were inside the body of another. Observing things through their eyes and sensation. You had no control of this body.... or did you?
>Test and see if you could control this body or not
>There's no point in even trying, nor would it be fair to the person you're inside
>Try to figure a way out her body
>Other

Re: Children of Sin: A CYOA
You decide against testing out this person's body. You just weren't the type to make someone into your personal lab rat. Or at least you assumed you weren't the type, your memories were still very vague. Instead, you would watch how this played out. Maybe, just maybe, you were brought here for a reason. Could there be something you needed to see or hear? Or was this just some game played by cosmic beings? You just didn't know.
"Hurry and get out of bed, Sister," The woman now known as Margaret said, "Your foster father and sister shall be arriving shortly."
You felt your, or rather Luci's, eyes blink, "They are? Why would they be coming here without sending a messenger first?"
"Oh how should I know how nobles and their whims work," You finally got a proper look at the woman. She was short and stocky with brown hair. If the graying strands of hair and the worn face was any indication, she was at least in her late forties. But even so, there seemed to be a childish gleam to those deep brown eyes of hers. While her body has aged, it was obvious that her spirit hadn't. She went about straightening up the other beds that were occupying the room before looking up and glancing back at you, "Still not getting out of bed, are we?"
The body you were inhabiting jumped in surprise, quickly pulling the covers off her legs and swinging them over the side. "S-sorry, I spaced out. I'm getting up now," Sister Luci, as you have decided to refer to her now, stood just as she said she would and quickly dressed. You attempted to look away somehow in order to preserve the nun's privacy. It seemed to work since it went black from then and till you finally stopped feeling... well naked.
When you looked back again, Margaret had left. Possibly to do... whatever her job was at this... was it an abbey or whatever they call it? In any case, now it was just you and the nun you were occupying.
>Now that we're alone, I should probably try contacting her.
>I should just keep watching silently.
>Time to take control of her body.
>Free
