A long time ago in a galaxy far,
far away...
Dun dun, dun dun dun duuuun duuuunn
It is a time of intergalactic
peace. The Jedi Order has
thrived since the fall of the
empire and with it the New
Republic has also flourished.

A pair of couriers carrying
questionable cargo have
hired a disgraced former
Jedi prodigy as protection.

Meanwhile, various forces
are conspiring to steal the
package the crew are
delivering. At the same
time the Jedi council has
sent out a Jedi Master and
his apprentice to apprehend
the Dark Jedi.

Vaan finished the last of his drink. "Baaaaaartender, another Ebla." He was in a cargo hangar with a small amount of accommodation and a disproportionately well stocked, although currently abandoned, bar. Vaan could understand why: the job was dull. Unless there was someone to intimidate or outright beat up, he didn't have all that much to do. And that could be even worse for pilots. Didn't all pilots fly drunk anyway? Whatever, flying was stupid.

"That's twenty-five credits," the powerfully built, reptilian bartender said, looking at Vaan with an expression that Vaan didn't too much appreciate, like the Trandoshan, if he was right which he usually was, wanted a fight - a story to tell. It was the same look he'd given the previous seven times he'd requested payment

"'Ve already paid," Vaan slurred with a wave, amazed that he could still use the force well enough in his inebriated state. The bartender blinked, confused.

"Oh. My bad." And he walked off. There were no girls in the bar so he picked up his beer and went to go see what they were loading into the ship. "Hey you can't take that glass!"

"Don't worry 'bout it," Vaan replied, the alcoholic beverage spilling as he waved it.

He proceeded to the darkest loading bay, the one they always got in this hangar. Especially when they had sensitive cargo. Vaan had once levitated an X-Wing out of their spot, mainly to prove he could but also out of principle. The owner had been rather distressed although Vaan didn't know whether that was because he'd shown off his force powers in the less than reputable loading areas or because he'd dumped the X-Wing into the dark abyss of space. What did he care if it was a classic?

The cargo was a series of grey containers, each around the size of a domestic refrigeration unit and they were being loaded by droids so he couldn't mind trick them into telling him what was in there. He also wouldn't get paid if he opened the box. Rarely did they get cargo that was so sensitive they weren't allowed to know what it was, although they were more than used to illicit shipping.

He supposed he could load the containers himself in about five minutes but he had so much to do. Aside from his drinking responsibilities, he was also in charge of bribing the official that was stationed here and investigated the cargo. Of course, he took the money for himself and just mind tricked whoever he had to but it still counted right?

He took a drink from his cup and stood next to his employers by the ship. "What's happening you... white... white fluff people?"

"That's not a very politically correct term for them," said Terek. "I think they prefer 'sheeple' or 'walking lambchops',"

Terek did not actually know if 'walking lambchops' was the politically correct term for...whatever species his employers were. However, he didn't care. It sounded like a good name to him. Also he was hungry.

--

Zhil cursed her master for the millionth time as the crate she was currently hiding inside was loaded on to the ship. This was the dumbest plan she'd ever been coerced into participating in.

Her master could easily have just sicked the port authorities on the smugglers; then accompanied them help apprehend the rogue jedi.

But no, her master had a much more ridiculously complicated; and downright stupid plan. Sneak aboard the ship and fight the entire crew! Including the rogue jedi!

Oh well. At least her master was in as much mortal danger as she was...

--

Sol was not in as much danger as his padawan. As it turned out, the crate he'd stowed away in had been sent to another ship. Thankfully, he'd been discovered by a member of the crew who'd thought to check the cargo before the ship took off.

Of course, by the time he got to the smugglers ship; they'd likely be ready to take off.

He didn't want to get chewed out for losing another paladin. or for letting the rogue Jedi get away.

He started running.

A young E'welam woman sat atop a large crate. It wasn't apart of their shipment, of course. In fact, she was so sure it was for the ship that came in after them, so it wouldn't hurt to turn it into an impromptu seat. With one knee brought up to her chest and her other leg dangling over the side, she watched as the droids loaded the ship with a neutral expression. Among them, she could see her childhood friend and partner helping them load in the cargo.

Her features didn't change, save for a single eyebrow raise as she projected her thoughts to her companion, They don't need any assistance, Bex.

She felt a wave of nonchalance come from the tiny E'welam beastmen, Eh, 'was getting bored just watching, needed to stretch these limbs of mine. 'Sides, I don't trust these damned machines with our cargo.

Mn, There was no point in arguing with him about the trustworthiness of droids or any robot, really. Combat droids were a common fixture of E'welam military bases. More often than not, they were used to discipline soldiers that had stepped out of line. It was a prejudice brought from living four years in fear of them, she supposed. When you're done carrying that inside, come sit with me.

There was a moment of mental silence and a feeling of confusion from the other end, before Bex finally answered her, Alright, Velfa. I'll be there in a minute.

Velfa watched as her friend disappeared inside the hangar and waited patiently for his return. The closer their proximity to eachother, the more at ease she felt and vice versa. Currently, she could really use that calming effect. Especially with them so close to their departure.

Still worried 'bout that feeling you got, It wasn't a question, there was no doubt Bex knew everything the moment she got it, that feeling of dread as if something bad would happen on this mission, Your instincts were always better than mine when it came to these things and if somethings got you worried... well, 'better pack an extra pair of underwear.

Bex stepped out into view with that ever toothy grin that always seemed more menacing than it was meant to be. The white, fluffy haired girl made sure her friend felt every bit of unamusement she had. You don't wear underwear, she thought back, dryly as Bex easily jumped up on the crate despite it being twice his size.

Before the E'welam duo could continue their mental conversation, their hired hands decided to make not so respectful names for their species. She narrowed her eyes, especially glaring at the Gungan, but she chose not to make a big deal out of it. Bex, however, was not that level headed.

"Ya want to repeat that, you blubber li-" A sudden mental scolding from Velfa silenced him. The E'welam growled and seemed to bare even more teeth than usual, but said nothing further to the Gungan.

With that crisis hopefully averted, Velfa gave the Jedi a scrutinizing look. "You're drunk," She stated, not sounding entirely pleased. At least Vaan was still somewhat capable even when inebriated, but she would have preferred is he had stayed sober for their departure, "We're almost done loading up. We should call up the rest of the crew and get them ready for departure."

"Errrr what is that?" Vaan recoiled slightly at his Gungan crew mate who had appeared to racially abuse his employers. He didn't actually care about Terek's appearance, but he could not abide by the Gunganese dialect. He hated it so much, in fact, that he had sequentially mind tricked Terek into speaking properly.

"'M  drunk? Well that's why you're the obvious. Captain obvious... wait. What?" Momentarily confused, Vaan paused and then changed subject. "We should find the rest of the crew," agreed the human. "Oh creeeeeeew!" No one appeared. Vaan took a drink. "Oh, no one came..."

He swanned around to the entrance of the ship which was closed. "Open," he said, waving his hand. Nothing happened. "Aww... do we have any of the, uh, fire water on the... uhh... uh... space flier..." He finished his drink and threw the cup at Terek. The alcohol impeded his aim and his lame attempt at telekinesis, coupled with the Ebla's effect on his force connection meant the cup crashed to the floor. "Oooops."

Teela was inside the ship already, although whether anyone realized this was up to how well they knew her. She was double checking and triple checking the engines. She didn't really like the sound they made. She also didn't like how most of the console was lopsided, or how several wires were sticking out and she wasn't even sure what they WENT to. Also she hated not knowing what they went to.

"Ugh, if I can just convince everyone to chip in some of their credits I could make this the best ship ever," She sighed, but decided that this was at least going to be able to fly. She assumed. Well after all, it had flown before, she supposed.

In any case, it was time for her to check on their ONE working turret. See if it was still working. She had heard the cargo they were packing was sensitive, sure would suck if anyone wanted to fight them for it, considering that she hadn't been given the time or resources to add more combat power to the ship yet. She walked through the ship towards where the turret was.

--

"I suppose our friend is as inebriated as ever!" A winged humanoid came from above, flying down and landing among the people and near the Gungan. The S'kytri smirked brightly, showing off his teeth, "I have to wonder why we would entrust any amount of security to such a drunkard, haha!" He looked at nobody in particular when he talked, although it was in the general direction of Vaan.

"Are we about ready to go, captain?" He asked, not really intending to pursue the topic since he was just joking in the end really. It was his hope that he was lowering the tension.

Terek let the cup bounce off him harmlessly. He briefly wondered if Vaan was picking a fight with him. Fighting a rogue Jedi could be fun if he managed to avoid getting lightsaber'd.

Then again, Vaan was a crew member. And Terek wasn't one to shoot where he ate. Not to mention the rogue was drunk out of his mind; which would make the fight kinda boring.

Man, he really wanted to get into a fight already. When he'd joined a group of smugglers; he'd assumed there'd be more firefights.

However, his mood improved the moment he noticed someone running towards the ship.

"Say, did any of you guys invite a jedi to the party?" he asked, before pointing to the figure. "Cause that guy looks alot like a jedi..."

--

Sol drew his lightsaber as he charged towards the ship. Stealth was no longer an option; his only option now was a frontal assault.

Oh well. How much fight would a bunch of smugglers put up anyway?

"A jedi...?" Velfa turned her head and sure enough, there was indeed a Jedi headed their way. Both E'welam quickly jumped off the crate. The girl glanced over to the droids, they had just finished boarding the last of the cargo. She then turned back to the group, her voice direct and clear, "Vaan, if you're not too drunk, try and hold him off, everyone else get on board. We're leaving, now."

Bex, stay here with Vaan. I'll let you know when you need to drag his intoxicated ass on board.

Gotcha, Cap'n.

With that, the Captain ran off in the direction of the ship with her crew while Bex stood by with their Jedi comrade. While he wasn't quite capable of the insane stunts of most Jedi, he was still strong and capable enough to hold his own alongside Vaan.

"Aye aye!" Chirped the drunken ex-Jedi. Even by his own standards he had been drinking a hell of a lot today. He was, in fact, so drunk that he couldn't even muster the deep level of anger and loathing required to utilise the dark side of the force, and even if he had been able to he would have probably killed himself being unable to control it.

The light side of the force didn't posses any direct attacks either-"A Jedi uses the force for knowledge and defence, never for attack," said the teachings.Of course, one could always bludgeon a foe with their shield, and wasn't it a common saying that the mind was one's greatest weapon?

"Go *hic* away," Vaan hiccuped waving his hand in front of the Jedi, ignoring the fact that Jedi tended be immune to their own mind tricks. In addition to that, his mind trick didn't work when he was in his hiccuping stage of inebriation.

When the Jedi didn't stop advancing, Vaan improvised. He grabbed a nearby cargo ship - that he was fairly sure wasn't their own. He was too drunk to lift it and smash it over the opponent's head so he tried to use it to crush the attacking Jedi by grinding him up against their own ship. Great plan. Other than the damage he caused to to the hull of their own ship. "Oop-*hic*."

The ship suddenly shook, causing Teela to lose her balance and fall against the wall, "Ahh! What the hell?!" She quickly got her bearings and ran towards the exit, hopping over things in her path.

She came to the entrance and saw everyone heading towards her, "What the heck is Vaan doing now?!" She cried out.

"Ahh, seems we have someone here to stop us already, and it's a Jedi. It'd be best if the ship started," Kev spoke up, spreading his wings about. He was worried, but he wasn't sure he'd be able to help Vaan out very much against a jedi, and figured he'd let the two force users duel it out, "Hey, why don't you get this ship started? We'll need to take off fast,"

"Ugh, I don't even know if we're ready for takeoff, but fine," The cargo was on board of course, but she hadn't checked everything, "Ok, Captain I'll leave it to you to get everyone on board. I'll make sure we're taking off,"

Kev turned around, seeming to stare at Vaan as he caused devastation to their ship with someone else's ship. He wondered if things were going to work out with him doing things like that.

Sol leapt over the cargo ship the rogue Jedi had just tossed at him. Such a jump would be impossible for an ordinary human being; but it was nothing for a Jedi knight. As he did so; the ship flew under him and slammed into the smugglers’ own ship.

What kind of moron attacks their own ship? Well, if his enemy went and destroyed his only means of escape; he wasn’t going to complain. That’s what this fool gets for being drunk on the power of the dark side! At least, Sol assumed that was the case.

If so, he was dealing with a sith lord. Which meant his priority was no longer capture. That made things so much easier.

As Sol fell towards the ground; he used the force to rip a piece of metal plating off the ship that had just been thrown at him. As he landed; he flung it at his opponent. The moment his opponent dodged the projectile or caught it; he would use that opening to force-leap over there and slice him in half.

Unless his opponent just let the thing hit him. In which case he’d have one less possible sith lord to worry about.

--
Much as he’d have liked to take on the Jedi with just his blaster; Terek knew it would probably be suicide. And he wasn’t into suicide at all. He was strictly a homicide kind of guy.

So instead of giving the Jedi some nice blaster shots to deflect back at him; he’d gone inside the ship the moment the Jedi had shown up. He wanted to have a little talk with the engineer.

“So, Teelsie,” he said, from directly behind the human. “Is the turret in working condition, by chance? There’s this annoying jedi outside that would look great splattered all over the place,”

Velfa gripped hard on some nearby railing to keep herself steady. Though her expression remained unchanged and she seemed relatively calm, her mind flooded with curses and insults all directed at one particular Jedi.

Good ta see yer putting those words I taught you to good use! Bex's thoughts rung in her head. The Captain gritted her teeth ever so slightly, but that's as far as her frustration showed.

What the hell does he think he's doing?

I don't think he's thinkin' at all, Cap'n.

The urge to facepalm was strong but she resisted, instead turning to her crew. First things first, the gungan.

"Terek, you're not going anywhere near our turrets after the last time," She then turned to Teela, "I'm gonna override the autonomous lockdown, can you manually shut the doors when I give the signal?"

---

While Sol was busy with the other jedi, Bex crouched over on all fours, baring his incredibly large and sharp teeth. With surprising speed and reflexes, the white fluff ball darted towards the Jedi knight. While he wouldn't be able to take out this guy alone, he hoped Vaan provided enough of a distraction for him to sink his teeth into Sol's side.

"Woohoo!" Vaan hollered, swinging the courier's ship around, swatting away the plating and forcing the Jedi to decide between being bitten or hit like a fastball. Unfortunately that meant that everyone and everything not secured in the ship would end up flung around. Of course, Vaan hadn't thought of that. Noooope. He didn't think that was funny at all.

Teela gave a single extremely annoyed glare at the gungan, but the captain beat her to the punch in regards to telling him off, she then gave a respectful, although begrudging, nod, "Aye, captain. Lets get the hell out of here and once we're up I-" She was cut off as she found herself slamming into the wall.

"THIS FUCKING JEDI IS GOING TO KILL US!" She cried out, completely unable to contain herself this time. She swore that if she had any say in it, this guy was going to be replaced as a bodyguard. Was that even his job right now anyway? He sure didn't seem to be guarding shit.

Kev, on the other hand, was much more cautious as the ship suddenly moved very sharply sideways. His natural senses let him catch himself on the wall with his leg, although he flinched from the pain. Mentally he was putting all his thoughts into hoping this ship would still be able to take off after this...

"Oh come on! That tie-fighter pilot was mocking me! How was I supposed to know we'd end up with a Star Destroyer chasing us?"

It was at that point Vaan swung the ship around like some kind of baseball bat. Terek was flung into a wall as it began to spin.

"I'm starting to think Vaan might be crazier than I am," he said. "And that is saying something,"

--

Sol sighed. This fight was starting to get ridiculous. He'd thought this would just be a quick lightsaber duel. But apparently the rogue wanted to go all out.

He first directed his attention to the thing that was currently charging him. He'd never seen anything like it before. Probably some dumb animal the rogue had decided to keep as a pet. Or maybe more like an attack dog.

Whatever it was; it clearly wasn't a sentient creature. Thus, he had no reason to care about it's safety. He reached out with the force, lifted the creature up, and tossed it over the ship.

If his aim was true; it would fly over the ship in an arc, and land on the Sith.

He then held up his hands; and pushed with the force. The ship came to a halt... and then began moving back towards his opponent.

Once again finding the ship shaking to almost dangerous levels, Velfa almost let out a low growl of frustration. Instead, she just ever so slightly, gritted her teeth and began to make the shaky trek deeper into the ship.

Get that drunken oaf on the ship before he gets us stranded here.

Gotcha Cap'n, Bex replied to her thoughts. She could tell he was little distracted with his own problems. Hopefully, he'd still be able to get the two on board.
----
Being sent sailing over a ship wasn't exactly on Bex's list of things to do, yet here he was getting thrown around like a sack of potatoes. Turning his body in midair, he moved and rolled to other side of Vaan, missing him by a hair. He tumbled on the ground for a moment before he was able to get to his feet and skid further back.

It was then he got a mental order from his partner. Damn Jedi and their cheating force. What was Vaan even thinking? There was a low rumble in his chest before he shot foreward, this time charging at Vaan. He grabbed the Jedi, practically dragging the drunkard, and quickly pulled him on board the ship even as it moved from the other Jedi's force powers.
---
Once in the cockpit, she gave the order to their pilot to get the ship up and running. Bex, are you two on board?

Ye', but we better get a move on now 'fore that Jedi stops us.

Velfa sent a thought of affirmation and quickly helped the pilot start the ship. Soon, she felt the thrusters starting, lifting them up in the air. Or at least, trying to. The Jedi still had a force grip on the ship so they had to fight against it, setting the thrusters even higher.

"Aw what the hell, I-I totally had him," Vaan slurred in protest. Maybe not true. He really needed to get a lightsaber. And even by his own standards he was very drunk. He grabbed another drink anyway and had just poured it when the ship lurched, suddenly accelerating out of the Jedi's grip, covering Vaan and the floor with alcohol and soft drink.

"What the heeeeeell," He complained loudly, staggering over to the cockpit. "Where did you learn to fly? Let me drive, I wanna drive!"

Vaan would find Kev's walking stick slapping him in the gut, "You are the last person on this ship I want driving, and that includes me," He smirked, placing his stick back to the ground, "Now, are we finally free of the Jedi? He can't follow us without a ship, but does he have one?" He asked the room at large, facing nobody in particular.

"We're fine Kev," Teela responded, looking and sounding grumpy, "Lets just get the heck out of here," With that, the ship made its way into space.

Though Terek was a bit disappointed at being left out of the big fight; he couldn't help but marvel at Vaan's amazingly insane stunt. It was like something he'd have done if he had the ability to move ships around.

And Bex had charged head-first at a guy wielding a lightsaber! Clearly his... unique way of looking at the world was rubbing off on the rest of the crew! Maybe soon Kev would be flying around shooting lasers in random directions; and Teela would actually try to fix those damned guns!

Velfa might even get that stick out of her...nah. That last part wasn't happening. Actually, come to think of it; the rest of the crew being more like him might not end well.

There was only so much ass in the galaxy to kick. And he wanted there to be some left for him.

He put a hand on Vaan's shoulder.

"Leave the unique-strategizing to me from now on," he said. "Also, don't hog all the Jedi fighting to yourself! I want to try shooting one!"

Of course, Terek doubted there'd be a chance to fight another Jedi any time soon. It was pretty unlikely that another Jedi would show up too soon after they defeated the last one.

--

Zhil stagged out of the crate she'd been hiding in; struggling to keep the contents of her stomach from escaping. She wasn't sure what the hell had been going on outside the ship; but it sure as hell hadn't been smooth sailing.

She'd seriously thought the ship was spiraling out of control or something. She'd have to have words with the pilot. Of the smuggling ship. That she'd just snuck aboard with a mad old man who was hellbent on killing at least one member of the crew.

She really needed to rethink whatever stupid decisions had lead her here. Oh, right, her master's stupid decisions had brought her here. Come to think of it; where was that old bastard anyway?

--

Sol was still on the planet; contemplating just how his plan could have become such a mess. It had been so simple. Sneak on the ship. Kill the Rogue Jedi and any smugglers that needed disposed of. Maybe teach his padawan some valuable life lessons while he was at it.

Now he was not aboard the ship; and the rogue Jedi was still very much alive.

To make things worse, the smugglers had his padawan. They would no doubt be a terrible influence on her. Non-human children were especially vulnerable to bad influences! She might be well on her way to becoming a Sith lord by the time he found her.

There was no way he'd be able to explain this to the council. He had no choice but to track them down; and take him out on his own. Oh, and rescue his padawan. Maybe.

Though he'd need a space ship first.

Mini Timeskip ho!

The ewelam woman leaned against the railings of the engine room, watching as Teela surveyed the damage. The had been flying out in space for a few hours and she had noticed a soft mrrrr that wasn't there before. She immediately pulled the other woman from whatever she was doing to check it out. There was no way the young Captain was going to let the dickery of a Jedi jeopardize their ship (and possibly their lives).

Hopefully, the worst of it was that they'd have to make a detour to the Draklnor Star System to make repairs. She was pretty sure they were still wanted on several planets there for the last stunt Vaan had pulled. How fun.

'Ei, yer grouchy mood is bringing down the party, Cap'n,' Bex complained.

Velfa crossed her arms over her chest, though the effect was lost on someone on the otherside of the ship, 'Party? What the hell are you doing?'

A sudden bout of dizziness that almost sent her over the rails told her all she needed to know. Mental feedback from a drunk was worse than being drunk herself. At least when she was drunk, she wasn't aware of it. It was a faint buzz of dizziness that wasn't her own.

'Jus' keepin' Vaan distracted like ye asked,' Bex's response made her groan in frustration. A rare moment where she slipped from her stoic mask to show just how annoyed she was. Well, at least the Jedi seemed to be too busy to cause anymore trouble now.

"Teela," She called out to the human woman, "How's the ship looking? Do we need to make a stop for repairs?"

------

"Read 'em and weep, boys. Two pair," Bex laid out the cards in his hand. There was indeed two pairs. Two Kings and two 7s. The ewelam grinned toothily, leaning back in his chair as he took another swig of spirits.

It was a three-way poker match between Bex, Tereck, and Vaan. He and Vaan had been going back an forth with their wins for awhile now. The Jedi's reliance on mind tricks would do him no good against an ewelam. Unfortunately, it didn't stop Vaan's unnaturally high luck that countered Bex's savvy-ness at the game.

Of course, between the two, it would be a miracle if Tereck even managed to win a match. Bex wondered how they always got the guy to join in their games. Maybe it had to do with how mentally unstable he seem to be? Or was it Vaan and his mind tricks again? Either way, they usually cleaned the poor guy out before the night was over. (Or rather, before there was a call for lights out.)

Vaan didn't actually know how to play poker. He didn't pretend to either, everything just sort of worked out for him. And when it didn't, sometimes he was prone to acting out.

Despite his best efforts he had actually absorbed a very, very small amount of information on how to play but. In his hand he held three nines. Was that better? He was pretty sure it was worse. "Actually, fluff bag... uhhh..." He raised his hand and pushed the table over with the force, sending the cards and money sprawling over the ship. "Oh looks like I win," he announced, slapping the cards out of Terek's hand as he walked past, a jug of orange coloured liquid in his hand.

He put a quarter of his drink down his throat. He was fairly sure he had skimped on the Meiloorun fruit juice that he had stolen from some planet in the Draklnor system. He went to fetch more.

On his way to the refrigeration unit he spotted a short green humanoid. "Hey you!" He called out, advancing on her. "Where's your drink?" He grabbed a bottle out of a cupboard and opened it. "Uhhh..." He'd stolen this wine from the princess of another planet in the same system. It was a trophy of his conquest. It also tasted like Wookie sweat.

"Hold on a second!" His eyes widened. And then he poured a quarter of the drink into his cocktail and another quarter into his mouth. "Ick, I'd definitely suggest a mixer," he said grimacing and taking taking a sip of his concoction that had turned almost red. "Yep, definitely mix it."

Teela was angry, and she wanted everyone to know, "YES we need to make a stop! The hull's all fucked up thanks to a CERTAIN jedi who I intend to tell right the hell off," She sighed, then noticed that her captain looked really upset, and continued in a more apologetic tone, "I know we're in a hurry, and I know it wasn't your fault, but damn if Vaan's inability to care for the ship doesn't run me up the wall," She wasn't sure what was up with Velfa. She almost looked like she was drunk, but Teela knew that couldn't be it. Was this all getting to her as much as it was Teela herself?

Terek held in his hands a royal flush. A hand that would no doubt beat both Bex and Vaan's hands. This would be the hand that forever changed his luck! His days of losing every single hand in every single game were behind him!

Just as he was prepared to play this hand, however; Vaan suddenly quit the game. Not only did he quit the game; but he flipped the table and knocked Terek's cards out of his hand.

Terek just kind of stared in stunned silence as his first chance at victory at poker was crushed before his eyes.

"...but I had a Royal Flush,"

--

Zhil froze as the Rogue Jedi she'd come here to track down addressed her.

It seemed she'd been discovered. Well, it was only a matter of time. Hopefully she could pass herself off as an ordinary stow-away. Maybe if she was lucky they'd have an escape pod she could run to. If only her master hadn't taken away her lightsaber!

"Where's your drink?"

Oh, wait. He didn't seem to notice her. Or rather, he didn't seem to notice that she didn't belong there. Even as he asked her a question, he seemed more preoccupied with that wine he was drinking.

Man, how drunk did you have to be not to notice an obvious trespasser?

Well, she wasn't complaining. This guy might actually prove somewhat helpful to her goal of getting off this ship alive. Time to put on the naive and useless kid act. A little bit of stutter, some teary eyes.

"Excuse me Mister..." she said. "I... I was in your cargo bay when the ship took off! P-please help me get home!"

Velfa ran her hand through her bangs as the other woman went on a tirade about the Jedi. Frankly, she agreed. She should have known better than to trust her employer's decision to thrust a drunken Jedi upon them for protection.

"I know, I know. If it was up to me, he'd be gone, but Grouwl hired him so we're stuck with his drunken idiocy," She said as another bout of dizziness caused her grip to tighten on the rails, "Gh, I'll tell the pilot to change course. Hopefully, there's a Draklnor planet we're not wanted on."
---
"Damnit!" Bex exclaimed, throwing his hands up in exasperation, "Every single time! Can we never finish a game without ya flippin' the fuckin' table?!"

Vaan didn't seem to be paying attention, so he turned to his other comrade to complain loudly about the lousy cheat. Terek was looking forlorn, muttering about a Royal Flush. "There, there, blubber lips," Bex consoled, patting the gungan on the shoulder, "I'll get ya another drink."

The beastman jumped out of his chair and followed after Vaan. Only to stop and blink at the kid Vaan was talking to.

"'M I piss drunk or is that really a kid there?" He asked.

"Uh, no. That doesn't seem like much fun," Vaan replied to the distressed girl, uncaringly. "That's totally a little kid. I mean, look at her, drinking like a pussy. Ain't no self respecting adult that would come on here and drink like that," commented the Jedi, conveniently forgetting about the captain. He was pretty sure she wasn't there before. She could have been cargo - he had been too drunk or unconcerned to take note of what was been loaded - but Bex would have probably known that.

Fortunately he was sober enough to enjoy the chaos that was about to ensue. Although "sober enough" was really a relative term. Either way he looked forward to how Velfa was going to react to their little stowaway.

Teela was startled at how much the captain was having trouble standing up, "Hey, you ok? You don't seem well," She wasn't good with people, not like machines, so she wasn't sure what the problem could be. She almost looked... drunk? But Velfa didn't drink, she was pretty sure.

"Uh, want me to get Kev or something?" She asked, he did say something about being a doctor didn't he? Well he was blind so she wasn't sure.

---

Kev, incidentally, had overheard Bex shouting at Vaan about a game and tables being flipped. Curious, and slightly concerned, although primarily looking to get in on any games if they happened to involve gambling, he made his way down the hallway from where he had been. His hearing was exception, both as a member of his race and due to his natural inclinations he still didn't quite understand.

When he rounded the corner though, it was to a scene he hadn't expected. Everybody was certain there was a kid here that shouldn't be here, and Kev thought the same. He also benefited from not being drunk, so he decided to get to the bottom of this, "Hello, child. You should really be careful when stowing away on ships. Where is your home?" Something 'felt' strange about this kid. What was it that was tingling his senses? It felt familiar, somehow.

This situation was getting out of hand. Not that she'd had it in hand to begin with. Well, they didn't seem to be about to shoot her. That was always a good sign.

"W-we just left my home planet," she said. "Your cargo bay just seemed like a safe place to sleep for the night!"

With any luck, they'd turn around and drop her off. They didn't have any reason to keep her on the ship; and didn't seem ruthless enough to just dump her out the airlock.

Velfa waved the other woman off, trying to assure her that she was fine, "The guys decided... ugh, to have a round of drinks."

"Psychic feedback," She further elaborated in case Teela hod gotten confused.

Normally, Bex would wait into late hours, when she would be asleep, before indulging into the stuff. She supposed that it was Vaan's influence that he was drinking earlier than normal. And now, she was paying the price for it. She was just about to excuse herself and head to her room when she got a message from the culprit behind her drunkenness.

"Uh, Cap'n, we got a bit of a problem," She could feel the apprehension coming off Bex. Oh hell, she hated the sound of that.

"What did Vaan do now?"

"Surprisingly, uh, it ain't his fault... I think. We've got ourselves a stowaway. I don't really know how ages work fer other races but I'm pretty sure she's a kid too."

Okay, that is not what she wanted to hear. Vaan causing some sort of mess? She could fix those, usually. But what the hell are they going to do with a kid? "Keep her right there, Bex. I'm on my way."

She then turned to Teela, probably further confusing her with her bout of silence as she psychically conversed with Bex, "We've got a stowaway. Bex says she's a kid." After explaining the situation, she then turned to leave, "I'm going to go see what can be done about this."

----

"The Cap'n's on her way," Bex told the other occupants of the room, "Better wait here till then. She'll fgure out what ta do with you, kid."

The E'welam had an itching feeling that turning around and sending her home wouldn't be on the table. He didn't tell the kid that, not wanting to cause her to panic. The beastman was terrible with words and just as bad with kids. But really, was anyone on this ship good with kids? Yep, he was starting to feel sorry for this girl.

Vaan frowned as he felt a dull tickle inside him as they conversed with the stowaway. His connection with the force was strong when he wasn't drunk but he had been hitting it pretty hard and he couldn't quite tell what the disturbance was. Had he lost his lightsaber? Oh, yes. It was under his bed... probably.

He looked at his drink, in what could be mistaken for a pensive manner, and noticed that the refrigeration unit had deactivated. It had been doing that a lot recently. "Pillow-boy," Vaan addressed Bex."Get our candy-assed Captain to buy a new beer fridge. I like them frosty." He had actually once postulated, in a brief moment of clarity, that he could piggy back on the E'welam connection to grossly invade their privacy. This theory had never been tested as Vaan had conceived it in the only brief moment of sobriety he had experienced since he had joined the crew and had been forced to drink himself comatose that day to regain what he called his "beer robe".

In all fairness it was his fault usually: he had tried to boost the power of each cooling unit with force lightning but he ended up breaking them which usually meant they needed more electrocuting. He definitely wasn't doing it on purpose all eight times. "It's funny!" He decided out loud to no one in particular, electrocuting the fridge which made a humming noise in response. His fingers felt cold, they always did after calling on the dark side. "Here's some Jedi juice, young padawan," He commented obliviously handing over a beer.

"We can go back to the planet, right?" said Zhil.

If these smugglers couldn't take her back; maybe she could convince them to keep her on for a while. At least till she reached the next inhabited planet. Forget bringing in the rogue Jedi; this was a survival mission now.

It was at that point that the drunk human fired lightning from his fingertips at the beer cooler. This guy was the rogue Jedi her master wanted to capture? He didn't look so tough. Then again, there were a lot of Jedi Masters that didn't look so tough. It probably wasn't a good idea to underestimate someone the Jedi Order considered a potential threat.

And then he went and called her 'young padawan'. This was it. Her cover was blown aboard a ship full of smugglers; and a rogue Jedi. No, that couldn't be right. There was no way he could know she was actually training to be a Jedi. At best he had sensed she was force sensitive. It was best to keep up the naive act.

"Padawan? What's a padawan?" she asked, innocently. "And this Jedi juice smells funny..."

Teela nodded at the mention of psychic feedback, "No offense but I'm surprised he would drink while you're... uh," Teela realized she was speaking telepathically to Bex, and maybe she should just let her captain miss that she said anything, "Nevermind," She shrugged.

When Velfa finally spoke, she had some bad news, "Stowaway? Some kid snuck on, that's not good," She stated the obvious, and followed after. Teela wasn't very good with kids either, but it might be a good idea to check things out. It might mean changing course, and she'd have to point out that changing course really wasn't an option. They had to land on a nearby planet. Yeah, that was pretty much the only reason she followed.
