Salem Springs RP

It seemed to be a terribly peaceful morning in Salem Springs. No witches were causing trouble, so many hunters were feeling relieved from the chance to take a break. While many others were feeling antsy from the unsettling peace that had befell the city. They couldn't help but suspect something would happen soon. Something pretty big, they concluded.

However, oblivious to the tension within the city. A sister and her brother sat comfortably at home. Depending on your definition of comfortably that is. The brother was sitting cross legged on the floor, playing with what appeared to be a puzzle of some sort. He seemed subdued, occasionally mumbling something under his breath. His sister couldn't catch what it was nor did she think she wanted to know. As long as he calm and not hurting anyone, she figured whatever it was should be perfectly fine. The problem was, she needed to go out shopping, but she knew that once she left, her power over him would fade. There was no telling what he would do, and she didn't want to lock him up in the basement again. But with so little options, that seemed to be the best way to go about it.

"Uhm... Mason, can you come with me to the basement?" He looked up from his puzzle, giving her a sad look that said he didn't want to go. He knew what was going to come. Madison bit her lip. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to leave him in the living room for a little while. As long as she kept everything magically locked tight, then maybe he wouldn't escape. She would only be gone for a little while anyway.

Jack was patrolling the city. His shift lasted from eight-thirty in the morning until twelve-thirty. At exactly twelve-thirty, and not a second later, he would return to the Hunters' office where he would be on standby for a further four hours. At exactly four-thirty, he would return to his apartment, a small, neat apartment on the outskirts of Salem Springs which was perhaps the only place in the city with a low population density, outside of the big, expensive houses which he had no use for.

Dinner would consist of chicken, peas and rice, providing all he needed from a meal. After this, he would read and research on ways to free himself from his job.

First, however, he would focus on the job at hand. He was on full alert, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. This didn't make him uneasy; if a threat was lurking, he'd destroy it when the time came.

He passed a house which contained two magical people. His sensory skills weren't greatly developed, but he could detect one calm, flowing magic and another chaotic one being contained, like a bouncy-ball being thrown in a container. He made a mental note of their location and continued on, observing the other magical people locations. However, the chaotic magic continued to play in his mind, inexplicably familiar to him.

William and Elizabeth strolled through town, arm-in-arm, just happily enjoying the sunlight. As they walked by a flower shop, Elizabeth stopped them for a moment as she enjoyed the view of the various flowery arrangements.

William made a movement as if pushing Elizabeth further, acting like he didn't care for the flowers at all. Elizabeth rolled her eyes as the two of them continued down the street.

It was a good thing they had mastered masking their magical presence, seeing as they passed right by a hunter on his patrol.

Tom sat on the roof of his house, looking out over the rooftops of his neighborhood and into the distance where the city's tall buildings rose from the ground. It was pretty peaceful today with nothing exciting happening and for once Tom was bored. He felt like practicing his magic against some rogue witch or warlock today. He hadn't had a good fight in a while really.

"I wish something would happen," Tom sighed as he leaned back on his hands and looked up at the clouds in the sky.

Meanwhile, walking through town was a strangely pink-haired boy who bobbed his head and walked to the beat of the music that blared through his headphones, ignoring any stares that he might get.

Luke was pretty content so far. Really, as long as he had his music, nothing could ruin his day... much...

Deciding to take a chance with it, Madison left the house with her brother locked tightly shut inside. She would have to hurry though. Her magic would linger on the chaotic young man for a while, but not too long. Eventually the madness will take over again. She just hoped her magic wards around the house are strong enough to keep him in and others out.

At least he had something to distract him for awhile. Though she wasn't sure how long it would be before he got bored and tried to find something more interesting to do. His ideas of interesting weren't quite the safest nor sanest things.

Jack noticed this, having found himself looking back at the house every few paces. Usually he wouldn't care, but he felt compelled to investigate. He resisted the urge and settled on sitting on a bench to observe the house and check if there was anything out of the ordinary. He briefly considered breaking in but that would have been incredibly out of character for him.

'Perhaps the bubble is a spell, containing the chaotic magic,' He pondered at the odd magical signature. 'Or perhaps he has an inner psychopath with super magic which is being restrained by his own magic. I'll just have to wait and see.' He didn't mind at this point that he was completely neglecting his job; he didn't mind doing that at any point really.

Jeremy had been walking to his friend's house, but was pleasantly surprised to see said friend walking towards him. He raised his hand and waved, "Madison! Where are you off to?" it was nice to meet her away from her brother. He didn't like him as much as he liked her.

"Oh?" Maddison looked up at the sound of a voice and smiled pleasantly at the speaker. It was always nice to see her friend. She didn't have many and as much as she loved her brother, he wasn't the best of company, "Hi Jeremy, I'm just on my way shopping. Would you like to come with me? I could always use the help."

Meanwhile, Mason continued to fiddle with his puzzle. As his sister got farther and farther away from him, her grip on him seemed to weaken. Eventually, he smacked the puzzle away from him and began to laugh. It wasn't a nice laugh either. It was dark and unsettling.

Leave...

No, he couldn't. His sister would get upset.

Leave.... kill....

No no nononono, that was worse. He promised. He promised he would never kill again. He couldn't break that... He couldn't, he just couldn't.

Still laughing like a mad man, his hands went to his hair, clenching tightly at it. He wanted so badly to silence that voice. Yes, make it go away.

Then do what I tell you...

"Oh yes, that would be quite lovely," Jeremy said, smiling as he turned just as she caught up. So she was also leaving her brother behind to go do other things? This made Jeremy feel even happier. He'd get to spend time with Madison without worrying about anything else.

Something inside Jack growled. A primal instinct that screamed for him to act against this existence. His body temperature fluctuated as his brain and his gut fought each other. His hand dropped to his side and water in the air around it froze into an icicle.

'What am I doing?' He thought to himself. The icicle dropped into a puddle and he turned away from the house. Back in control of himself, he continued his patrol as if nothing had happened.

Madison smiled in gratitude to her friend. With his help, she might be able to make it home even quicker. Already, in the back of her head, she was getting an unsettling feeling about leaving Mason alone. But she ignored it, it was probably her worrying to much. Mason had been getting better, she was sure of it.

"Oh!" Madison said aloud, something occurring to her, "I didn't ask your reason for coming by our house. Was there something you needed?"

Leave... kill everything... leave

No, stop it. He couldn't. Not when he promised. Why wouldn't it just leave him alone. It was like a claw gripping tightly at his head, digging deep into his mind. But he promised, so he would bear it.

Jeremy shrugged, "I just happened to have some free time, I wanted to say hi," he said, smiling over to Madison, "It isn't like I really had anywhere else to go anyway," he added, somewhat playfully.

"So, what are we getting?" He asked, ready to help her out with whatever she needed.
