Salem Springs RP Character Creator

Welcome to Salem Springs, a very technological city who has the finest of man-made machinery there is. Though this place isn't all about the tech. In this city, there are those who get mystical powers from the spirits of this land. Some are good and try helping others, then there are the bad ones who reek havoc upon the land. Because of these bad ones, there must be those who hunt them down and stop them.

Witches and Warlocks - They are humans who get their mystical powers from demonic spirits. They are the ones who are more inclined to do evil. Generally speaking, witches and warlocks tend to be very unpleasant people. Most are rude, unsociable, and down right nasty. While not every witch and warlock are evil, they are almost never nice. At all. There are several sub-classes of witches and warlacks, but most are just the general ones with a large variety of spells.

Sub Classes of Witches and Warlocks

• Fire Witch/Warlock: These are the only witches who specialize in a single element. They get their powers from fire demons and are usually characterized by their hot tempers and red hair. While they do focus on fire spells, they are capable of using non elemental spells. They have the benefit of sheer power to their spells and flames that are almost impossible to put out.
  
• Hex Witch/Warlock: These are the witches who specialize in curses and bad luck. While any witch can perform these spells, they don't quite pack the punch or have the effectiveness of a Hex Witch. Hex Witches are considered the most unsociable of the witches. Because they cause bad luck, not even their fellow witches want to be near them.
  
• Vampire Witches/Warlocks: These are the energy drainers. They thrive on sucking the energy from those poor unfortunate souls who come across their path or get seduced by them. Vampire witches, almost never use their own energy for spells. They use the energy from their victims to supply the mana for their spells. While not actual vampires, it's considered fashionable amoung their kind to wear fake fangs. Not every of them do this however, some even think it's down right silly and redundant to wear them.

Wiccans and Druids: These are your 'good' magic users. They get their powers from the nature spirits in the land. Because of this, their magic is very elemental and nature focused with the occasional healing ability thrown in. Wiccans, unlike witches, tend to be pleasant and easy to get along with. They are peaceful and will only use their magic to help. However, they do not like witches or warlocks one bit. Verbal disputes between the two are common and often. But because the Wiccans are peaceful, they will never actively attack a witch.

Hunters: Finally, we come to the hunters. They are like the magical law of this city. They get their powers from holy spirits and their job is to hunt down evil witches and warlocks and either kill them or purge them of the demons that give them power. Most hunters are very good about their work and only fight those who have committed wrongs. However, there are those who take an extremist view on things. They attack Wiccans and Witches alike without discrimination, never bothering to learn the difference between the two. It should also be known, that Hunters never get to chose to be Hunters. They are chosen by the spirits themselves and cannot back out of their work even if they wanted to. That is why a few hunters become weary of their work, some even becoming corrupted because of it.

One more note, this is an anything goes RP, so while those three above are a good start for a character, you don't have to make a witch, wiccan, or hunter. Also, this is a tech savvy setting so you don't need to make your character wear fantasy style clothing.

Personality:
Very playful and cheerful for a witch. She doesn't go out of her way to antagonise wiccans/druids because... well, honestly, she's so confident in her superiority there's just no need. She can also be rather cruel when insulted, but outside the occasional demeaning act, she's at least nice to whatever slave she's draining of magic at the moment. Apparently, her dream is to enslave all the hunters ever and bend them to her will.

Brief History: I dunno, nothing special I guess.

Abilities:
-Seduction - Well, it is an innate ability. as well as the magic draining
-Whip of Love - Made of pure, non-elemental magic. Useful for both discipline and making sure some idiot doesn't get too close.
-Megido!!! - Generic spell of explosive magic.

Personality: A very kind and loving young woman. She's helpful and nurturing, almost motherly in the way she treats others. Many of her neighbors know her as that sweet girl who always helps them out. However, she has a dark secret and it takes it toil on the girl. On the outside she smiles and acts as if nothing is wrong, on the inside she is conflicted and confused, desperate to keep her brother safe.

Brief History: At the age of 14, her and her brother were orphaned when their single mother died because of an illness not even Wiccan magic could cure. In their state of depression, the brother attempted to bring their beloved mother by making a contract with a demonic spirit. This backfired, however, not only were Warlocks unable to bring back the dead as they once were, but the spirit he contracted with had twisted the boy into the brink of insanity. In their old city, he had slaughtered many in his deranged frenzy. Unable to stop him, Madison did the only thing she knew to do, she turned to the nature spirits, promising herself to them as long as they gave her the power to help her brother. And so they did and she was finally able to calm the boy, though it was a temporary fix at best. She took her brother and left their city in shame and guilt over what had transpired and the lives that were lost. She soon came to Salem Springs where she started a new life, keeping her brother, happy, safe, and hidden from those who would kill him for what he had done.

Abilities: As a Wiccan, naturally she would have healing abilities as well as an empathetic awareness of everything around her. From humans, to plants, to the many animal species. And by extension of that, due to her specific request from the spirits, she is able to calm the feelings and minds of those around her. Aggression? Killing intents? Those usually fly out the window when she's around. Not to say you'd just stop fighting, if you had a good enough reason for it, you would keep on. Also, she seems to favor water magic over all other forms of magic, though she is quiet capable of using other kinds.

Personality: Delightfully deranged and almost childlike in his glee towards spilling blood. To say he is unstable would be a vast understatement. He's ever smiling and playful, though that playfulness has a sadistic twist to it. He lacks the ability to feel empathy for others and at best seems a happy sort of distant from people. The only person he seems to listen or even show an inkling of caring for is his sister. He never dares go against her wishes, almost like a child who only listens to their mother.

Brief History: See Madison

Abilities: Mason's special brand of magic is the epitome of what one would call 'dark'. The very center of his magic is blood, lots and lots of blood. Any blood that's spilled becomes his to control, your blood, his blood. It all belongs to him once it leaves the body. He can freely move and manipulate the blood, even crystallize it into a more solid form. He revels in all the blood and the more blood there is the stronger he seems to get physically and the more unstable he gets mentally

Personality: Sweet and kind. Chloe's the kind of person who gives money to charity even if it means skipping a meal or two. She tends to be quick to forgive any hunters that attack her under the mistaken belief that she's a fire witch (after all, red hair, red eyes and a red dress can be a little confusing that way) so long as they stop. That said, when it comes to witches or the kinds of hunters that go after wiccans, she's merciless and firmly believes that, unless a VERY good reason to let them live arises, the only acceptable outcome for a meeting with them is death. Of course, this killing intent goes right out the window if the fight endangers innocent lives.

Brief History: Chloe was the child of a wiccan and a normal human. She had a mostly normal childhood, until one day, when she was 12, her mother was slain by a hunter. Fate, strange thing that is, answered the girl's prayers for the power to prevent this from happening again. At the age of 14, she was chosen by a holy spirit to become a hunter. In addition to her duties in hunting down witches, she went after hunters who were morally bankrupt enough to kill wiccans.

Abilities: Strange as it sounds, given that she's a hunter, Chloe's magic is rose based. She can unleash a cloud of magical pollen which traps others that inhale it in a potent illusion in which they are in a peaceful rose garden with no others in sight. In addition, she can manipulate the petals of a rose in a manner similar to telekinesis whilst also making them extremely sharp. Petals being used in this way seem to lose all colour while under her influence.

Personality: Anti-social, sarcastic, has a tendency to insult people, indifferent. He's pretty lazy, unless it comes to his music, and his motto is practically "If it doesn't involve me, it's not my problem". He's not the kind of guy one would easily warm up to but he's one of the more tolerable warlocks out there at least.

Brief History: Luke comes from a well-to-do family. However his father wants him to run the family business. While Luke does have the skills to run an advertising firm (a by product while growing with his father), he's not interested in it. He would rather sit in his room, strumming on his guitar (or playing various other instruments) instead of doing business deals. His father constantly belittles him and thinks that his music is a waste of time. Tired of his old man's words, Luke made a contract with a demon spirit; his services in return for the ability to show his father just how horrible it would be to live in a world without music or sound.

Abilities: Luke is a warlock with an affinity for sound. He can manipulate sound waves in the air (even making an entirely different conversations than the one actually taking place), cause people to go deaf, and amplify sound at his will. He can make powerful shockwaves with a clap of his hands, snap of his fingers, or by using any of his instruments. He can also use music to send people into a trance (not mind control entirely, more like make people really sleepy or sluggish).

Appearance: "Burn baby burn! ... I mean, grow baby grow?"

Personality: Generally very pleasant and outgoing, like most Wiccans. Sola does her best to always treat others kindly, and be a productive member of society. However... she has her dark side. While she's calm most of the time, Sola has certain triggers, that, when flipped, make her temper flare up inexplicably. She tries to control these bursts of anger, like she knows she really shouldn't be letting her emotions get the better of her like this, but her attempts at keeping cool only end up making her anger all the more frightening, like the calm before a storm. In short, she genuinely tries and wants to be a good person, but has some anger issues that sill need ironing out. Tends to act in a very big-sister-ish kind of way.

Brief History: While she may seem (relatively) harmless, Sola was once known and feared as "The Human Sun", an extremely powerful fire witch. And we mean powerful. Even without malice, the sheer scale of her actions marked her a menace and a threat to peace. It was a small miracle in and of itself that what happened took as long as it did. She was cornered by a Hunter, as destructive Witches inevitably are, and he proved to be even more powerful than her. Fearing the end, she was surprised when the Hunter offered out a hand to the defeated Witch and offered to make her a deal. Somehow, the Hunter could see that maybe there was some good in Sola, and decided to give her a chance. Relinquish her demonic spirit and become a Wiccan, and he'd let her walk. Sola, fearing for her life more than her pride, decided to accept this offer, and dropped off the map, the legacy of The Human Sun disappearing with her. A while later, she reappeared, using a new name and a new outfit, and started life as a Wiccan, vowing only to heal and protect, both out of respect for the Hunter who spared her, and out of fear that she may be caught by someone much less merciful should she put another toe out of line.

Abilities: After she disappeared, Sola made a contract with a nature spirit, and spent years dutifully studying healing magic and earth synergy. Now she's become an excellent healer and gardener, capable of mending humans and spurring plants to grow at breakneck speeds. However, she still has not forgotten her connection to fire magic, and is still capable of using it quite proficiently if needed. However, as powerful as she still may seem to the average person, she is much weaker offensively than she used to be, her skill with fire magic failing to compensate for the sheer gap in power between her former demonic spirit and the nature spirit she has now aligned herself with.

Name: Jeremiah James Johnson

Are they a Witch/Warlock, Wiccan/Druid, Hunter, or other?: Warlock (In addition to dealing with Demonic Spirits, he also has demon blood)

Appearance: Don't piss him off. Also his right eye is usually covered by an eyepatch.

Personality: Kind and gentle to his friends, and he tends to befriend anyone that he thinks can be his friend (Not necessarily a whole lot of people). However, he's harsh and cold to anyone he thinks is either: A) Threatening (He also feels easily threatened), B) Threatening to his friends (If he reaches for his eyepatch, this is a bad sign), or C) Is (As he puts it) an ass. However, he never attacks anyone unless someone he cares for is in danger or a hunter tries to kill him. The lengths he goes to for the sake of those he cares about can be extreme, and the amount of damage he causes to people he hates can also be extreme. He ... doesn't seem to have a middle ground. He can be impatient with anyone or anything that annoys him even slightly.

Brief History: With a demon for a father, his life wasn't exactly easy. He was picked on growing up, and he had to hide his right eye. He had been taught by his mother to never let that get to him, and to never show his anger in front of others. So, instead of attacking the bullies, he went into the forest often and exercised his extreme strength at random, releasing all his anger in droves. Any time he was in town or around others, he'd never show his anger, he'd never let loose even as tomatoes were thrown at his face. Then he'd go to the forest, and vent it all at once. One day he found and communicated with demonic spirits, and asked for a way to end the cycle. However, the wish he asked for only ended in the death of a child that had picked on him, an older child but still only a boy at the age of thirteen. He ran from town and hid away, and his habit of hiding his anger and then venting translated into his relationship with everyone he ever met, never showing his anger until he was given a chance by a hunter to kill...

Abilities: His demonic birthright gives him the ability to grow claws and incredible amounts of body strength. His speed is lacking, however. But then there's his warlock's powers:
[list][*]He can call forth a vicious wind that cuts and destroys that which is in front of him, cycling and tearing a small area apart.
[*]He can call forth a powerful wind to dash in a straight line at high speeds, or jump at incredible heights (Good thing enhanced strength comes with enhanced endurance) He's having trouble with the "Stopping" aspect of this technique.
[*]He can make air in the area around him dense, slowing the movements of everyone there. However, this includes himself so it doesn't exactly even any odds. This is also a technique he always gets angry at because he's impatient.

Name: Jack Frost

Personality: Very cold, and bitter at his forced employment, Jack completes his assignments with ruthless precision. He is a bit of a loner and has no real friends. His cold behaviour is the result of a constant fury that he keeps bottled up, waiting to explode but denied the chance to. He keeps very focused on his targets; the holy spirits are on that list although he has no way to really free himself and bring them down. He's rather sharp and has great observational skills due to his intelligence and cool nature.

Brief History: Jack was selected by the Holy Spirits as a Hunter at the age of thirteen due to his high level of intelligence and calmness. Even at this age, he was independent and refused to become a pawn for the Holy Spirits. His parents were usually away and his relationship with them was indifference on his part; although he did not hate them, he was never particularly excited when they were coming home.

In order to force him to comply with the Holy Spirits, his powers were disrupted, causing his surroundings slowly freeze and anything he touched with his hands to do so quickly, causing him to inadvertently kill his parents. His own body temperature started to fall, and although his powers granted him immunity to death from such a thing, he became extremely uncomfortable. Once he hit minus one hundred degrees, water vapour in the air began to restrict his movements by freezing upon contact with his body. He reluctantly agreed to serve them, silently vowing to free himself one day.

Abilities: Jack has a particular talent for precision based techniques, mainly of the ice element, an element he is so proficient with he can cause it to become exponentially harder than regular ice. He fights in a very calm manner, with his hands in his pockets which he attributes more to his use of Ice magic reducing his body temperature. Although competent with hand to hand fighting, and being quite handy with the various weapons he may create out of ice should the need arise, he tends to fight without moving, using his magic as a powerful defence rather than evading opponents.

Name: Elizabeth and William (Liz and Billy)

Personality: Hard to understand, and therefore hard to explain. It's like a split personality but is not, in that it's one person controlling two bodies. Which gives the impression that it's two people. Elizabeth acts like your normal girl, but occasional little things she says may throw up flags on the truth about her. When she's found out as a witch, she tends to act with a pure bloodlust. William acts like that of a perfect gentleman, ordinarily, but just like Elizabeth one may note a tone or statement that shows his true identity. Unlike Elizabeth, however, he will never reveal his bloodlust through expression or words, and even seems like he isn't enjoying any kind of battle he gets into. This doesn't mean he doesn't come off as completely insane when he lets himself slip, however.

Worth noting that they tend to particularly hate wiccans.

Brief History: There was once a cute couple everyone in a particular quiet town spoke of. The boy who had always come off as so smooth and had been intending on becoming a businessman, had asked out the girl he'd known since he was born in the most public way possible. Their love was the kind that had been in trouble on many occasions, and many had gotten in their way. Finally it looked like a happy ending as they married and had plans to buy a house in the big city, far away form the small town. However, it was not meant to last despite their success against all other struggles.

They ended up in a car accident on their way to their (cheap) honeymoon, and neither was ever heard from by their friends again. The truth is that one of them died, and the cause of the accident was a clumsy wiccan, who apologized again and again and swore her life to the survivor. However, evil spirits moved in quickly to take this chance, and the survivor made a deal to become a powerful being. The wiccan escaped, barely, from the vengeful "couple" that came from the wreck.

"They" ended up in the smaller-ish town of Salem Springs after multiple scuffles in the big city with Hunters. William decided it would be safer to go to an out of the way town, even though Elizabeth wasn't too happy about it. However, they both agreed they weren't interested in seeing their old friends or family again.

Abilities: As the above has already made clear, the two people in the image are actually only one person. Their race is "Spirit" as it can switch between the two bodies, which haven't aged since the contract, and they no longer consider themselves any kind of "Human" in any case. There is no penalty or time restriction of any kind to switch back and forth between the bodies, aside from the lasting effect it's had on their sanity. You can tell which body the spirit is in only by whether or not it's talking, unless you catch on to the minutely slower reaction times of the one without the spirit.

The scythe from the image is the focal point of their abilities, though aside from that whichever body the spirit is not in will slowly regenerate and cannot feel pain.

When William holds it, it surrounds itself with a dark aura of gravity. Anything he slashes becomes heavier, with every slash increasing the weight further. If he does not have the scythe in his possession, he can still make a target heavier by grabbing onto them and holding them tight. Without the scythe, though, the effect can be considered Negligible unless he's used the effect on a target for over a minute.

When Elizabeth holds the scythe, however, she causes blood to move in the direction she swings the scythe. The effect works on blood that is within a body, however any amount of strength above a small child's can pretty much fight it off without trouble. If there is blood outside of a body, however, the blood will move as if a blade to cut whatever is in its path. Since the blood only moves where the scythe moves, it can become predictable. She can move blood without the scythe, but it isn't anything that can be weaponized whatsoever.

For the most part, whichever body has the spirit in it will be holding the scythe, but if they're too far apart to move the scythe to the other then the spirit may move without the scythe.

Name: Zack

Appearance: AH YEAH

Personality: Ambitious, goal-oriented, and very very lacking in the ability to think things through, it isn't uncommon for people to get really annoyed at Zack. He tends to go all out in everything he does, and never breaks a promise or lets down a friend. He's just that kind of guy. However, his general liking for modern weapons has made many members of his tribe to grow even further from him, making him an unofficial outcast. Despite this, he doesn't show any amount of dislike for his fellow tribesmen, nor does he ever seem to show any sadness at being driven to leaving.

Brief History: Despite being a member of an old and powerful elven tribe, he found modern weapons much more "Cool". This fact drove him away from the rest of his tribe, until eventually he became unofficially outcasted. Having finally taken note of this, he decided to move to Salem Springs. He heard it was ravenous with horrid monstrosities and yet had many a technological advancement. It was totally his kind of place! He rents out a small house.

Abilities: The abilities of elves in general are well known for large amounts of various nature magic, but the tribe from which Zack was born focuses much more on combat as it was an integral part in ancient wars. Even though nowadays they don't seem to ever do much, they still practice their styles and try to make sure that they never lose the old knowledge.

Specifically, what Zack has is the ability to "Create from nothing any weapon he knows". In more detail, this means that if he has studied the design and style of a weapon, he can forge it into existence with a burst of mana from his hand. While this process can take a few seconds, it is still fairly efficient in battle. Anything made through this process vanishes from existence as soon as the user lets go of the weapon.

However, Zack has never shown any interest in swords, bows, axes, or the like. He never fully learned them and cannot make them as a result. What he did study were pistols, rifles, shotguns, and the kinds of ammunition they use. He became so enraptured by it that he knows the full make and model of many a gun, and can therefore create many different kinds of guns. He has yet to get his hand on a bazooka, but not from lack of trying...

He does have one odd weakness due to this, however. As Guns are "Meant" to have limited Ammo, he tends to toss aside any gun after he unloads a clip, failing to ever realize or make use of a so-called "Bottomless" clip of ammo.

Name: Nathaniel Shone

Personality: A Laid back and bit lazy attitude, sometimes he studies the nature of magic and experiments in order to be more helpful for others. Enjoying books and has tendency to play games for fun to exercise his mind and mind of others. He Prefer's lightning, Ice and Illusion like magic and Nature magic is his favorite option too.
his Favorite music options are ones with good rhyme of music and is a big fan of comedy. Nathaniel Really doesn't like solve things with violence but rather talking, but there are times when his words go to deaf ears.

Brief History:
At the age of 15 Nathaniel was not aware of the natures spirit until he healed little boys scraped knee at playground with magic by accident. from that point onward he used his magic to help others knowingly this time. When he reached 17 and was in high school His friend who became aware of his natures spirit and slightly jealous, tried to make a contract with spirit but it was unluckily demonic spirit, which twisted his friend. He somehow able to severe his friends connection with demonic spirit but scarred his friend physically, forcing into a wheelchair. On the day he heard fate of his friend, he quit the school and left. at the age of 19 he found Salem Springs and settled down into city. Still feeling guilt over his friends fate.

Abilities:
Like all Wiccan's, he has healing abilities and emphatic awarness toward humans and animals. He Favors lightning and ice spells and Most of all illusion spells, able to muffle his steps and make himself invisible with it and create visual illusions also.

Name: Tom Collins

Personality: Very cheerful and friendly, but a little bit on the brash side. He absolutely hates discrimination and would always try his best to treat everyone equally. He is interested in martial arts and loves to play sports, even though he disregards the rules of them. He's pretty much an active person, but he does have his moments of peaceful reflection and words of wisdom. Tom also has nothing against witches and warlocks unless they start hurting people around him, the people he loves, or himself.

Brief History: The Collins family has a long lineage of Wiccans and Druids, even though there are so few of them nowadays. Tom is the youngest of his generation and the only one living in Salem Springs, since the rest are scattered across the country. He doesn't mind living alone or being the youngest, though it does get pretty lonely. He tries to avoid trouble and especially tries not to get in the way of Hunters. It's difficult knowing who are the just ones and who are the psychos.

Also, Tom has a little secret... wonder if anyone can guess it?

Abilities: Tom's contract with his nature spirit allows him the usual run of healing abilities. He also has the ability to heighten his senses, have near invulnerability in battle, and have heightened strength that makes him strong enough to knock a hole through a wall and flip a car with some effort.
