War of Us - Saving the Digital World

As you began to type into the topic on your favorite role play website, you began to feel it. The change... the world stopped so as to wait for your return as your physical body began to vanish. You close your eyes from the blinding light that came from your computer screen before finally... you were standing. It seemed you were in a city, and everything was as real as anything you saw in your own world.

There was a man in an odd butler's outfit standing at the top of some steps leading to a building.

"Welcome, welcome!" He stated to the group, "You have arrived in Clock Town," Despite the familiar name, this place was most certainly not a location from Zelda. Skyscrapers, paved roads meant for cars. Could have been any major city from Earth, except that nobody was walking around.

"This would be the point," The butler stated, "where I ask you for your help and to choose a mission," There was suddenly a crash as a nearby building was struck by a large club, "However, we have an immediate and urgent matter to which needs attending. Feel free to pick any of the three, but please take them all down,"

In one direction was the beast that had just struck the building. In the opposite direction, there was another beast, this one had four legs but was just as large. Down yet another street... there was yet another large creature. They seemed to be attacking the buildings, and it was suddenly clear why there were no people in this city.

David's eyes widened, "Uh, I didn't add this to the system..." He shook his head, "Wait, random threat generator..." he smiled, "Alright! Who wants to go take down some big monsters? Not a bad way to start things off," he looked around to see if he'd recognize anyone else there. He'd follow someone else into battle, rather than taking the immediate lead. Sure, dashing into battle was fun, but it'd be MORE fun with a friend.

Emo walked up to David with a grin on her face. She linked arms with him and lightly bounced on her feet, feeling excited to be here and meeting her friends (even though it was only in virtual reality).

"I'm right behind you Davey!" she chirped. It was easy to recognize her friend, what with the pink hair and all.

She briefly wondered if she can use her new power on him... but decided not to. The game was only beginning after all and she had plenty of time to make guys kiss each other.

Random stared blankly in front of her. She could have sworn that she was about to pick up a cup of coffee, but now it was nowhere to be seen. "Am I still asleep? This is a pretty weird dream," she mumbled to nobody in particular. She frowned at the man dressed as a butler, taking in what he was saying. "I.. what? Missions?" Nothing was making any sense right now.

She turned at David's voice. "Mommy? What are you doing in my dream?" she asked after he was done speaking. 'Did he just say 'take down big monsters'?' She glanced around and suddenly she was very much awake.

"Um.. I'll help, mommy, but do you think there's any way I could get some coffee after this?"

White blinked twice before looking around seeing familiar faces and standing god knows where in city empty from it's usual people. "This a dream...? No, Not possible. More like a nightmare. a Living one...."

After listening Butlers explanation and seeing the colossal monsters, White scratched his head with clear unconfidence on his face. " Aaah, I hope the time with Dragons Dogma helped me to get trained to this...David I have no idea what you are planning but this is my plan....I'mgoingafterthelastoneofthethreegoodluck!" White said giving a silly good luck gesture to David and others before marching toward the lastly mentioned beast.

For a few moments after porting in to the game, I just stood there, taking it in. I looked down at myself, flexing the fingers attached to my new hand- this new body, made of metal and flesh, felt different from the one I was use to, very different. I could actually feel my own body, the whirring internal components and the moving mechanical parts. Sometimes, acknowledging that one has a shape can bring about all sort of philosophical thoughts about your position in the universe.

But that was neither here nor there.

Those abstract thoughts fell away quickly as more pressing matters came to the fore. Gathering my bearings, I became aware of three much less abstract things: one, I was standing in some sort of city, two, the others were standing around me, and three, some very large beasts were standing farther away and making a mess of things.

Anno wasn't exactly sure how to react to the sudden... ness of just about everything that had just happened. City... giant monsters, what... what was she supposed to do? It was just... kind of terrifying, really. She swallowed, hard, and took a step back, before recalling the abilities she had if this was really the same as the normal virtual world. Reaching back, she felt the warmth and the golden circle of magic opened in mid-air, producing the hilt of Gray Judgement. Taking a deep breath, she gripped the strange weapon's hilt. It didn't feel like any normal material, more like... some strange cross between marble and steel. She pulled out the blade, and stood... very still.

The monsters were still kind of scary and she was hesitating.

Spidey stared at the three titans heading towards him, and wondered whether or not he could morph them. He decided it was unlikely, considering they were made of stone; and getting close enough to even touch them was dangerous.

That left him with his starter-morph; and it wasn't all that good for fighting against giant....things.

"Uh, do these things have a sense of smell?" he asked.

"...I would love to know where you got the assumption I am capable of taking down a trio of beasts bigger than ol' Ben over there." Saxen muttered, pushing his glasses further up his nose. This... was an unusual situation, yep. Suddenly appearing in a strange place being attacked by three giants? Okay.

But how to deal with this? Saxen glanced at each of the monsters, wondering if any of them would be easy to defeat. If only he'd played that one game that specialised in this kind of thing, then he might actually have some idea of what to do... well, keyblades were out, his magic might not be strong enough... hm, that left only one option.

Saxen stepped forward, hand glowing with a pale white energy. "No need for anyone else to get involved," he muttered with a small, confident smirk. "Within the depths of my mind lies many a powerful character. I simply have to choose one and end this little game in five seconds!"

Flame shook her head, her pony tail swaying behind her. She had to get her bearings. She knew where they were, that wasn't in question. However, she had not known nor expected them to activate it today. It wasn't ready yet, there was alot of kinks and glitches that had needed to be worked out. She would have to ask David about this and get to the bottom of it. But for now, there was something else more urgent, "Woah, those are some huge ass thingamabobs."

"Oiiiii David," Flame called to the mother of her derpy Ran child, "What the hell are those things? And how do we utterly destroy them?"

Nadie kicked at the piece of scrap metal called a car. Once again, the dumb thing broke down on them. Stupid piece of junk, she should leave it at a dump and get a better car. She sighed, running her fingers through her hair. They weren't gonna get anywhere, any time soon it seemed. "Looks like we're walking from here, Ellis."

Meanwhile, completely unnoticeable by almost everything, a very tiny girl was peeking from behind a blade of grass near the edge of the dirt trodden road. She slipped back and turned to her equally small male companion. "I spotted some humans, but they should be leaving soon."

David nodded to Emo, then turned to Ran-Chan, "Ah, glad so many of us could make it! Um, yeah, we should be able to get anything we want to drink after this, as well as eat. This world is a sort of playground after all~"

"The answer to your question Spidey is a big maybe," David smiled brightly as if this were the answer to everything, "And, Ah! Flame! Um, well! I was programming them in last night! I gave them a weakness to Light based attacks, but... well, I didn't give them the immunities they're supposed to have. I was kind of sleepy last night. You should be able to hurt them with anything that can pierce flesh! Well, if you hit their flesh that is. Oh!" Then he seemed to suddenly remember something, and turned towards everyone.

"EVERYONE! Be sure to hit them RIGHT ON TOP OF THE HEAD! That'll be the most effective!" After saying this, he nodded and turned towards the firstly mentioned one.

"Ok, lets take them down quickly so we can get to the fun stuff," He gave a smirk as he lightly touched his swords, before letting go of them and letting go of Emo, "SORU!" he dashed towards the Colossus with that crazy smirk.

Ellis nodded to Nadie as she looked down the street, before turning back to Nadie, "Yes sir!" she said. She was about to start walking when she noticed a tiny movement on the side of the road. "Huh?"

The tiny man, standing in front of Arriety, nodded, "They go soon, I hope," he was sitting on a tiny pebble, using it as a chair. Then he looked above Arriety with a violent expression, "Look out!" He pulled out his bow and aimed an arrow at Ellis, who simply peered down at the two of them curiously.

Out of nowhere, a certain tune began to play. It was as if the Gods made this happen.

"It's Sanic the Hedhug!" one man in the crowd said. He wasn't important or particular to the situation, so it was fine. There, a blue blur rips through the street. Trash, wadded up paper, leaves, they were thrown into the air by a rush of blue wind. Sonic the Hedgehog was on the scene! He maneuvered through any obstacle that was in his way. The Colossi were going down, if he had anything to say about it! Well, he couldn't talk, so that would be a problem. One leap into the air, and he's on its foot. Wait, no, he begins climbing, using the strange, intricate designs that decorate their entire bodies. He flips, leaps and climbs at sonic speed. One foot, another and another and he was already at the waist. Sonic flipped forward and ran up the chest and leaped up, and then he landed RIGHT where the nose was. He hung there, with one arm, and pulled down one of his eyes.

"THhppppppp." he stuck his tongue out to taunt him. He then pulled himself up onto its head all in a single second. He rolled down onto his head and began to spin... and spin... and spin.

The spines on his back were capable of tearing into their flesh and ripping it at chunk by chunk. Sonic spun and spun, the air around him heated up. He was ripping it up.

Deciding that "maybe" was the best answer he was going to get; Spidey charged towards the second colossi. Though it was the tallest of the three; it towered over Spidey.

As Spidey ran, he quickly transformed into the only morph he had at the moment. Thankfully for him, the computer skipped the painful transformation sequence; allowing him to change instantly.

He ran on all four of his legs towards the creature; raised his mighty tail and.....sprayed it's leg.

Saxen raised his hand, the white energy brightening considerably for a second. Facing the third colossus, Saxen muttered, "Shujiko, take it down."

A ball of white light flew from his palm, expanding rapidly. The light faded to reveal to brown-haired girl dressed primarily in blue and green, though if Saxen cared to look up, he'd see white shorts under her skirt. Not that he really needed to look at his own OC to know her design.

"Think you can take that down?" Saxen asked, casually, as Shujiko sized the beast up. A confident smirk grew on her face.

"Easily!"

"Then make it quick, please." Saxen replied. With an affirmative nod, she flew upwards, until she was level with its head. Hair growing blonde, the will youkai declared, "I'll beat you with one blow! Prepare yourself!"

And with that, the OC flew upwards, looping through the air, then sped for the colossus' head, foot stretched out to deliver a mighty kick.

The colossus didn't remotely have the speed to avoid the attack performed by the blue blur. As its head began to be torn open, it cried in pain before finally falling to the ground, to vanish into the shadows.

David pouted, "Well hell... Guess I'll go for the other-" He turned and saw that the other humanoid of the three took a powerful blow to the head. "I... won't reach that one in time..." it cried out and shook its head, which was bleeding considerably, before falling to the ground as well, its body eventually falling into shadow.

David sighed, "I wasn't really a fan of the four legged one though..." he turned to that one, and it suddenly occurred to him that a skunk was by its foot, "Well that's entertaining..." He smirked as he dashed towards it at high speeds.

White Looked at fights with blank expression before shruggin and shaking his head annoyed fashion before heading back to spot where he appeared. "Why Bother one bit." He stated both hands inside labcoat's pockets and turned around when he reached the appearing spot looking at others finishing the fight and sitting down on the ground crossing his leg with annoyed and bored expression.

As Emo watched her other friends charge into the fray, she continued grinning and raised a hand. Below her, her shadow started to form and twist and solidify into her hand until it formed into her scythe, the one she called Grim. Six feet tall, as dark as the night, and with a wicked sharp blade. Yeah, it could definitely do some damage.

She took a step forward, raising her weapon at the ready. But she noticed that there were already a lot of people fighting. She always felt a little insecure about jumping into the fray, feeling it rude. To her, it felt like butting into a conversation between two people. Really, very, rude.

So, with a sigh, she relaxed her stand and stepped back with a pout. She walked over to join White, leaning on her scythe and she looked down on him.

"So... wassup?" she said a little awkwardly. Where the hell did her enthusiasm go? Must've ran away with her sexuality. (*Ba-dum tish*)

"None, lost spirit to fight.... chilling back, taking note on sudden powerhouses" He said nodding toward fight. "I'm suprised that your not in that fray also" White said turning his head toward Emo, who had a slight awkward feel around her."wassup with you?"

"Eh, I kinda hate butting into someone else's fight... sort of," Emo shrugged. "But isn't this place awesome? We get to meet like in real life and there are so many... opportunities to grasp."

Emo grinned, her eyes glinting mischievously as she stared down at White. Oh yeah, she can totally abuse her slightly perverted powers here. And she just found her first target...

Meanwhile, Spidey had returned to human form; figuring that it was in this form that he had a much better chance of escaping the giant creature that he had just pissed off.

"AS SOON AS I FIND SOMETHING USEFUL TO MORPH INTO, YOU WILL TASTE THE WRATH OF JUSTICE!" he yelled.

Flame was about to charge into the fight, but held back, noticing everyone else was jumping to the fray. She shrugged, deciding to stay out of this fight. Everyone else was more than capable of taking care of it. So she turned to Ran instead, "Hey, Rannie, how's my favorite daughter been?"

"Eh?" Arriety turned her head to see what was Spiller reacting to. She fell back in surprise, gazing up at the large human. How had she seen them? She had made sure they wouldn't be visible to human eyes. Or at least, she had hoped she had picked a good spot. But it seems she hadn't. She scooted back from the human girl, only to notice Spiller notching an arrow in the corner of her eye, "W-wait Spiller! Don't hurt her!"

Nadie, who didn't quite have Ellis' eyesight, nor could hear the borrowers from where she was, noticed Ellis leaning down to look at something. Probably a small scared animal or a bug, knowing the blonde. The mexican woman gave an amused smile as she shook her head, "Ellis, what are you doing?"

"HALT, MONSTER!" boomed a voice from above as the camera dramatically looked to the top of a building across the stree from the monster to see a figure silhouetted by bright light. "I cannot allow you to continue with this reckless violence!" The figure, which was wearing a cloak solely for the purpose of tossing it aside dramatically, tossed aside his cloak dramatically. "Now, wretched beast, prepare yourself! I shall mete your punishment!" Before the cloak could even reach the ground, the figure leaped high into the air, quickly sailing across the distance to the final colossus. He landed deftly on the colossus' head, and raised his voice once more. "Justiiiiiice-" He raise his arms in front of him as if about to box, and dropped to a crouching position, raising back up, and then repeating the process, "-TEABAAAAG!"

He quickly began to teabag the monster with much force and speed, so much so that each drop pushed the colossus' head down. Soon, the monster's head had been shoved into the ground and a cloud of dust was being thrown up by the repeated impacts. When the dust settled, all that was left was a large pile of rubble in a small crater, the remains of the colossus' shattered head.

Strangely enough, one of the colossus' legs was also suddenly missing.

Ran snapped out of her derp daze and turned to Flam in surprise. "Oh, hi daddy! I've been good," she said with a smile. She quickly glanced back at the Colossi and frowned. She had missed all the fighting. She, unfortunately, did not miss Phazon's final attack. 'Did he just..?'

She turned back to her father and pointed to a building a few feet away. "Excuse me, I have to go over there and gouge my eyes out."

Spidey turned around to discover that the head of the creature that had been chasing him had been crushed. He was just a bit disappointed, as he had totally been leading it into a trap.

He wasn't sure what kind of trap he was leading it into; as he hadn't gotten around to figuring out what kind of trap it was going to be. However, he was sure that given time, he'd have tricked it into falling off a cliff or something. He turned his attention to the person perched atop the dead colossus.

"HEY! WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA?" he yelled. "I WAS DEFINATELY ON THE VERGE OF KILLING THAT THING WHEN YOU SHOWED UP!"

David stopped short. "Well now, this just wasn't my lucky fight now was it?" As he saw Phazon on top of the large four legged beast.

Then he realized what attack Phazon was using, and decided that the show was worth it. Once the beast was felled into the ground, David just burst out laughing.

The butler on the steps nodded, "Yes, yes, very good. You lot sure proved your worth, more or less," his voice was a constant monotone, and his face was lacking in emotion. At best, he looked a bit annoyed. But really, you wouldn't know, "Now, time to decide on your missions. I do apologize that you couldn't all participate in the immediate fight, but those who are upset about this may be happy to know that the missions have a limited number of people who can go on any single one,"

At that point he motioned to a small table that wasn't there before, "Now, if you'll all just take a piece of paper from here, you will have all the instruction you'll need. Please choose your mission carefully, and please adhere to the character limit,"

On the table, there were in fact a number of papers. Each one with various notes about crimes that were being commited. Each paper also seemed color coded.

(OoC: Just gonna note here that each mission has a limited number of people, based on difficulty. You don't have to fill this number out, and this number DOES include those who join the mission late by just deciding to help the people)

Purple: There are a number of mysterious murders, and there are many possible culprits involved. They're done in different ways, sometimes, but it can be assumed they are the same person. Local law enforcement is stumped.

Black: There's an incident where a certain man claiming he is the King of the Pirates is going around causing massive amounts of mayhem.

Green: Tokyo is being attacked by a large green lizard-like creature. Are you man enough to take down this monster?
Location: Tokyo
Character limit: 8
Mission type: Take down giant monster

Yellow: There's a one "Ellis", with a bounty placed upon her head for a large sum. While the money may be one thing, the reason she's being hunted appears to be that she's responsible for taking out an entire city.

Ellis blinked at the little weapon, and the words of the small girl. Then she turned to Nadie, and answered her question, "People," she said simply, pointing down at the ground in front of her.

Spiller didn't shoot, since Arriety had asked, but he didn't put down the bow. If that human did anything to them, he would shoot. It was that simple, "Stay back!" he shouted, to both Arriety and the human.

Having arrived late and not been able to think of much to do to the giant beasts, Rain surreptitiously shuffled over to the missions. Hunting... she had no skills for that. Same for investigation. She sure as hell wasn't going near that pirate guy, she could guess what that would be and she had no interest in ending up there. Too much top-heaviness for her liking, for a start.

That left... Godzilla. The giant lizard. Now, she didn't have much to do that could harm him... but she could turn Godzilla into a loli. A naked loli. And that would be both awesome and hilarious.

"I pick Green," the white haired girl said.

Confident that none of his friends could see through his HEROIC DISGUISE OF JUSTICE, Phazon stepped towards the group and approached the butler. "And I will take Black!" He shouted enthusiastically. A crazed man on a wild rampage? That can't be allowed!

"Hummmm" White hummed to himself while tilting his head left to right arms crossed looking at option. He got startled by Phazons sudden shout, shortly returning back to choosing. After giving a though for a while he finaly picked one of the papers. "Yellow."

Spidey carefully considered his options. Purple would probably require loads of attention to detail that was honestly beyond him. Black sounded interesting; but he felt he ought to morph something useful before taking on a combat mission. Green seemed like the best chance to get his hands on a combat morph; but seemed a tad suicidal for his tastes.

"I shall take yellow!" he said.

Tom entered the building. "Tom has entered the building!" He announced "A party? Without me? I'm shocked, appalled and hurt. At the same time. Do you know how difficult it is for men to feel so many things at the same time. Very."

He bounced over to the table with the missions on it. "Eeny meeny miney mo," He randomly selected one which turned out to be yellow.

"OOGA BOOGA!" Kage yelled, suddenly jumping out of the ground in front of Spidey, waving his hands dramatically.

"I'm haunting you," He declared, "So I shall also take the yellow whatever it is. What are we talking about, anyway?" He then looked around. "Am I late for something?"
