All life springs forth from zero.
Zero becomes one, one becomes two, two becomes four, four becomes one-hundred.
All life starts from a single origin.
This is the Zero World, The Origin. A formless red mist that has only a single purpose. To destroy everything in its path and revert it all to nothing.

However that's not all.
The Pure Plane, Haven, acts as a blockade. An immaterial barrier that allows the Vermilion to form, swarm, and storm - but only that. It is a filter to stop scarlet mist from fulfilling its desired purpose.

The Formed Plane, Terra, is home to other worlds that remain separated by 'Haven'. They are never meant to interract, never meant to touch. That is until something breached the immaterial barrier of Haven.

The Vermilion seeped in. Destruction seemed assure. However a group of powerful Mages came together to stop it. They constructed the Five Pillars of Lagrea - powerful structures that physically pushed the Scarlet Plane (Origin) up and the Formed Plane, Terra, down. They were separated... however this has only been a temporary defense. For the past few thousand years, the pillars have been failing.

For these thousands of years, residents have been spilling into Haven. They've found their homes in the Four Pillars of Lagrea. They've either sought out fragments of their own world in the vast endless sky, or have chosen to remain on the pillars for their own safety.

Each pillar possesses the ability to collect other fallen 'world fragments' so they don't end up falling into the Zero World. Each world that matches a pillars 'resonance' will be attracted to it. 

Gaia, The Pillar of Nature; A place home to nature. Forests, villages, clean water, all that sorts of stuff. Seems to have more magic users than usual.

Lucius, The Pillar of Stone; A place home to canyons and boundless deserts. There are a lot of lawbreakers here, you could call it an expanded form of the Wild West.

Machina, The Pillar of Metal; A place home to more of a 'steampunk' setting. It's also responsible for the aerial transportation used to get from pillar to pillar. The lower on the pillar you go, the more 'advanced' things become. 

Sigil, The Joined Pillar; A place that serves as a means of communication between Gaia, Lucius and Machina. It is a mixture of technoly and nature that have found balance with one another. You can call it the most 'modern' to our standards out of the other pillars.

Spire, The Blackened Pillar; A pillar almost completely overrun with Vermilion. It's cracked, falling apart, and causing the 'barrier' to become weaker by the day. Many have went to fight and purify it, but none have come out. What sort of darkness lies within it?

• 1) Resident; You've lived in Haven for as long as you can remember. You've probably tried to find a way back home, and you're still trying - but you've gotten used to this way of life.
  
• 2) Adventurer; You've decided that life on the Pillars wasn't for you. You've journey from pillar to pillar, through sky and the sea, desperately trying to find fragments of your old home. You have to keep searching no matter what.
  
• 3) Refugee; You just now recently ended up in Haven. You have no idea what this world is like or why you're here, but you're going to have your questions answered.
