Animagus Character Creator

In the world of Astra, some humans have an unusual gift that grants them the ability to morph one or more of their body parts, such as limbs, into a form of an animal's body part. Some are capable of even more radical changes, such as growing wings or full-body transformation. The transformation processes are very fast, and occur at the user's will. When inactive, the morphed areas revert back to normal, leaving the person's clothing and body completely untouched. The only visual mark of this ability appears on the body of the person, in the form of a black birthmark ( tattoo-like markings). Occasionally, the user bears some behavioral characteristics of their animal, but this is not very common. They are not treated kindly by the "normal" humans. Therefore, when some are treated bad enough or have a taken over neglected feeling, their animagus often takes over them.

All who have such an ability are collectively referred to as Animagus. The Animagus are capable of controlling their powers at will. Their abilities range widely — including, but not limited to, superhuman strength, agility, and reflexes, as well as heightened senses, and the growth of physical features such as fur,claws or wings etc. All of these originate from the characteristics of a Animagus' animal. Every Animagus bears the characteristics of only a single animal. Some who have been experimented contain two or more Animagus, each alone, or the two or more Animagus might fuse together to create a different or whole new Animagus. These experiments make the user's body a permanent animal trait such as a tail and claws pop out of the user when they are angry, embarrassed, or scared.

The process for becoming an Animagus is something that happens by pure chance. A child of 5-14 must come close to death or be in a desperate situation and spot an animal at the exact right moment. It is then that they will take on traits of that animal. Another way to become an Animagus is by experimental means.

The animagus' powers are not understood by the normal people, and the Animagus are subject to negative prejudice. They are feared as monsters, and even hated by some. Some are envious of such powers and seek to gain control over them. Thus, afraid of the negative reaction from others, most Animagus tend to hide their true powers whenever possible. A reason Animagus can be considered outcasts and dangerous is the fact that their animagus can get stronger over continuous use for daily life, even to the point where individuals eventually (most likely involuntarily) give up their human sanity and become more and more like the animal they were bestowed.

Name: John Jackson

Alignment: Lawful Neutral, with hints of Chaotic Good.

Animal: bat.
Animagus Abilities and Form: Head turns into bat's head. Enhanced hearing, sonar, and the ability to shriek REALLY loud.

Weapon: baseball bat.

Appearance: brown hair and eyes. Tends to wear dark colors when doing vigilante work.

Personality: Has severe anger management issues, which he tends to take out on various criminal organizations. Somewhat snarky.

Bio: He was born blind, but his older sister went out of her way to look out for him, and beat up anyone that picked on him. Then she got murdered by some random psychopath, who then stabbed John in the gut. That was when he became an animagus. Several years, and many therapists later, John was miserable, and unhappy... till he ran into the man who killed his sister. He attacked the killer, and beat him to death with his bare fists. That was the day that it happened; the day he became.... Bat-head! However, vigilante work wasn't paying the bills, so he took up Bounty Hunting.

Animagus Abilities and Form: At full transformation, he has the body of a scorpion with a man's torso sticking out, like a centaur. His hands turn into pincers. Due to his larger size, the venom from his tail is more deadly because of a larger amount of it. He also can burrow into the ground.

Personality: Somewhat territorial, likes to fight regardless. Tends not to care for anyone other than himself.

Bio: A boy who had been a failed attempt at an artificial Animagus was sent into the middle of a desert, to dispose of him. He met a scorpion as he was dying, however, and soon became one of the arachnids. He managed to migrate back into society, only going on rampages occasionally, and only attacking criminals and the occasional prostitute. The scientists that experimented on him still haven't figured out that he's alive.

Animal: Lion
Animagus Abilities and Form: Becomes a full Lion, which is exceptionally large, matching the extinct American Lion for size. This largeness gives him incredible amounts of strength. He also has the ability to grow his hair and facial hair into a mane at will, but he cannot retract it. Some of the traits and abilities from his lion form have carried over to his human form.

Personality: Leon is like a lion: fiery, brave, and honourable, with a great sense of pride, bordering on the egotistical, as well as great amounts of confidence. Despite this, he is a very talented leader, being both decisive and intuitive, yet willing, sometimes reluctantly, to listen to the opinions of others, however he has a tendency to think with his heart rather than his head. He greatly dislikes traitors and is fiercely loyal to his friends. This passion of sorts can make him overly aggressive to those who wrong him or his friends.

Bio: Leo never really came off as assertive, and had always sat on the sidelines, not really noticed by people. And then on a safari in Africa at the age of 12, Leo was attacked by hyenas, which gave him the scar on his chest. When he was just about to bite the dust, a lion appeared, attacking the hyenas. He spotted the lion just at the right time, and transformed. From then on, he honed his abilities and went around saving people as that lion had done for him. His school life had gotten better too, as his new ability had made him stand out, with great confidence and an aura which demanded respect, which, coupled with his transformation, which also seemed to increase his abilities in human form a little, making him good at sports, made him rather popular. However, to this day he has hidden his abilities well.

Animal: Grizzly Bear

Animagus Abilities and Form: Can become a full-grown, 1,200lb male grizzly bear, but often just transforms his hands into massive bear claws. His immense size and feral strength make him a formidable foe, and he is quick to anger.

Weapon: None

Personality: Boo is something of a recluse, preferring solitude to crowds, though when friended can be extremely loyal and possessive (almost zealot-like). Quiet -- Boo often won't speak unless he thinks it necessary, and even then his sentences are clipped and blunt. Despite his stand-offish nature, he is also very easily threatened and quick to hold a grudge, even when there is no intended harm aimed towards him.

Bio: Boston wasn't always so "bear-like" -- in fact, he used to be something of a social animal. Friends came easy, as did most everything in his life; he wanted for nothing. His transformation started when his parent's began fighting -- usually because of his father's romantic affairs -- and he became more and more withdrawn as his home began to tear apart. In an attempt to "buy" his son's love, Boston's father took him on a camping trip in the mountains. His father spent most of the time on the phone. During a half-hearted scavenge for firewood, Boston became lost in the deep woods. He wondered for hours until he came to a rushing river where -- to his surprise -- a lone grizzly was fishing trout from the icy waters. Though at first tempted to flee, Boston stood stock-still and watched the bear as it gorged itself on fish. Boston felt a connection to this animal then, a desire to be alone and confident in himself, not dependent on the whims and wants of other people. He never returned to camp and spent the next few months following the bear, learning from it, until he became one with it. Boston has since returned to civilization, hoping to apply his new-self to his old life. He's still not sure if he should've just stayed in the woods..

Animagus Abilities and Form: Fully transformed, she looks like a snake with a human torso and covered in scales. In her human form, she is highly venomous and though she is not incredibly strong, she can squeeze the life out of people. Her nails are always sharp, no matter how many times she cuts them and lets them grow. She has very quick reflexes and is also very quick on her feet (and tail) and she can taste the air for scents and can see temperature, so she's a great tracker. However in her snake form she is cold-blooded and will not function well in cold weather.

Personality: Quiet, but patient, polite, and friendly. She loves snakes and cute animals. She's also sly, slithery (as in she can slip in and out of places without anyone noticing), and able to keep secrets, but is not afraid to use blackmail.

Bio: Her father was a biologist who specialized in snakes, which is where she inherited her love for snakes. Her mother died when she was a baby, so she was raised by her father. She loved her father very much and he taught her everything he knew about snakes. But apparently her father was part of a group of scientists who were experimenting animagi. She was brought in as a test subject and that's where she became an animagus. She found out that her father actually resented and even hated her because he blamed her for the death of his beloved wife. Distraught at her father's betrayal, she managed to escape the facility and into the wide world. She's probably wanted by those scientists, but it has been so long that she's not sure anymore. She's not even sure if her father is alive or not.

Personality: A simple, naive, and innocent girl, she can be very loyal to her friends and is always determined to do her best.

Bio: When she was 12, her village planned to scape goat her as a sacrifice to appease their god which just so happened to be a wolf. Just as she was about to be killed, she looked over at the statue of that great wolf and began to change, much to the surprise of the other villagers. She fled the village to live her life out in the wild, occasionally traveling from town to town searching for someplace to call home.

Animagus Abilities and Form: Enhanced agility, flexibility, reflexes and hearing. She is also able to sense if there's something that isn't right about anything around her out of instinct. There is a side effect she has which makes her act in a strange way at some times in the year.

Weapon: A scythe shaped just like the moon

Personality: She seems to be a bit of a trickster. She acts as if she's a creepy crazed girl but she is actually sane. Her attitude seems to annoy most people. When she sees something she wants, she tends to be pushy and tends to not stop until she gets whatever it is. Still, she knows her own weaknesses and knows when the right time is to back off even though she might not like it.

Bio: She was born in a family who had no money at all to sustain themselves. To make their life easier, she was sold the moment she was born to the town. They raised her making her think that she is useless and will only be suitable as a sacrifice soon in her life. When she reached the age of 13, the people who were taking care of her put her in a cage with her wrists shackled for anyone to do anything as they pleased to her for two years before the day of the sacrifice. Most of the people did cruel stuff to her or simply walked away while some gave her food and water. During those three years of captivity, she kept noticing a rabbit passing through the bushes at almost the same time each day. It was something that she liked to watch. When the day of the sacrifice came, she was already weak and at the brink of death from starvation and dehydration. Before the knife was brought down to kill her, she saw the rabbit one more time. With this, her appearance changed and she escaped from the grip of those who were holding her, taking one of the scythes near the altar of the god she was about to be sacrificed to and killing those who treated her badly. Although she didn't get past killing more than three people (two of those were the ones who took her in as a child), she decided to flee for the woods. She saw the rabbit once more and follow it. She found a waterfall that was right under the moon's light and decided to call it her home.

Animagus Abilities and Form: Her arms become Eagle wings, and her legs become talons.

Weapon: Her fists; she's very good at martial arts.
Appearance: Long, light-brown hair. Golden eyes.

Personality: Very perky and bubbly. Wants to be a super hero; and has dedicated her life to walking the Earth and helping people. So far, however, she's found that "Walking The Earth" isn't as easy as television has lead her to believe.

Bio: Her father is a legendary animagus known for being an extremely powerful, brutal fighter even BEFORE he became an animagus. Deciding she didn't want to be known as "The daughter of the guy that put all those people in the hospital", she left home, deciding she wanted to be a super hero, and maybe show the world that animagus weren't so bad in the process.
