VN Discussion thread

Alright! So, I have a VN creation program, and lots of ideas for possible stories and junk, but before we go into any discussion of where the story will go or what it will be about, everyone who's interested please post here saying so! From there, we can figure out what to do. Though I can say up front there will be no H-Scenes, unless everyone on board agrees to it, and even then they'd have to have taste and be in an appropriate place/etc/etc. Would rather avoid them so we don't scare off anyone who might be helpful, and also to avoid awkwardness between the creators.

I'd rather no discussion about the VN happen on chats, since we won't have any backlog for the information. Anything relevant will go into this first post, in the below sections.

One very important thing, though, is we need at least one artist to be involved, or else we'll have to go elsewhere for our images. Which means either a fan-work OR crappy not-VN images. Or possibly just ripping images from a lesser known and/or crappy VN, Idk.

{Below here are the various sections for everything we need or come up with, mods and admins can feel free to add here as well}

~Images~

In this section we'll need: Backgrounds, characters (With many different expressions and poses if we can), and, if we want to be fancy, animations.

~Permanent Plot~

This section is ONLY for things that will DEFINITELY be in our plot. This section is likely to remain empty for a while since we need to even come up with a premise first. Due to the nature of this section, please please PLEASE keep it as clean and neat as possible. All things will be listed chronologically from the beginning of the VN to the end.

~Plot Ideas~

This section is for any ideas that are currently on the table that need to be voted on to see if it's something we want or don't want. This section is mainly for "Big Picture" ideas, as in how to start, move along, or end the story. Any info on an individual scene that we're writing out will go in the below section.

~Little Ideas~

Same as the above, but not as immediately important. This can be stuff like what someone's favorite color is, to discussion on "Atmosphere" of a scene. This area is also where we'll put information for individual scenes once we get to the point of writing out the actual scenes.

~Characters~

All individual character profiles go here. This will only include information from BEFORE the actual VN starts, and all the little characterizations. I'll write a profile skeleton (One that will be highly detailed) that will be used for every character once we start needing it.

~Dead Ends~

What VN isn't complete without Dead Ends? This section is seperate from the above sections because it's alternate endings earlier than the intended ending. This is only for confirmed Dead Ends, however, and I'll establish a template for how to add them at a later time. The template will include information regarding the exact time the dead end comes along, as well as how the actual "End" comes about and the scenes that are split off from the main story that lead to this.

Ok, so while I wanted the main discussion here in this topic, I ended up pulled into a PM discussion with Ragna. But anyway, Ragna has an interesting premise that I think we should use. Hex apparently already knows about it and the two of them have a lot of stuff figured out for story pre-planned. This should help since this is the first VN I'll have done, so it'll take a long time to get working anyway, let alone with a story that we're making up as we go (And therefore might run into situations where I have to redo a lot of stuff).

If this all works out well, then I hope to continue working with everyone on the forum to continue making more VN's!

Also, White hasn't posted yet, but I asked him and he said he's willing to do the character art, which is awesome. Flame's also interested, which I'm glad for.

If anyone else is willing to help, please say so before we go too far into the planning.
