Final Fantasy X: RP

The story will follow the summoner and his/her guardians as they trek across Spira in hopes of obtaining all the Aeons and brining about the calm (hopefully) once and for all. During their journey they will face hardships as any pilgrimage does, but through their travels they unintentionally become wrapped in a greater power that they must decide whether to preserve or destroy. This "greater power" can ultimately effect Spira and its people for better or worse depending on the actions and intentions of the summoner and their guardians.

+I kind of wanted this RP to be something that everyone as a team/group has to make a choice and the idea of right and wrong are hard to differentiate at times, and of course there would be consequences to each action made by the summoner and their guardians.

The sun shone brightly, radiating intense heat. Not even a small bit of wind graced the young woman that stood in front of Kilika temple, as small trickles of sweat appeared on her forehead. Whether it was from the heat or nervousness, Shamal did not know. The woman pulled an oddly shaped hat off her head and used the back of her hand to wipe the sweat off. There was no turning back now. She had made a decisions and she planned to stick to it.

However, in her anxiousness, she had arrived at the temple earlier than expected. Now she had spent half an hour in this hot, blazing sun for her friends to arrive.

Dekan calmly walked towards Kilika Temple, frowning a little at the humidity of the island. Her dark garbs was always a problem when it comes to heat and the sun, but she had always sucked it up and endured. Being on an island was no help either, but she had no choice but to return to Kilika. After all, when a friend calls for her presence, Dekan was not one to turn it down.

She was drawing near to the Temple, but she felt a little apprehensive. After all, she was half-Al Bhed and not everyone on the island... er... liked her.

Shin whistled as he walked over the wooden bridges of Kilika. He'd become accustomed to the heat, and even enjoyed it now. His short journey from the other end of the island passed uneventfully, and soon he was stood in front of Kilika temple.
"Yo!" He greeted Shamal and Dekan cheerfully, casually swiping the hat as he passed. "How're you feeling?"

Shamal snatched her hat back and sent a glare towards Shin as she placed it back on her head. How can he be so cheerful in this heat? The blonde thought to herself.

"I'm quite fine thank you," She lied knowing that if she had waited any longer, she may have passed out from the combination of heat and her anxiety.

Dekan smiled a little at Shin and Shamal. "It's nice to see you two," she said in her soft, polite voice. "Now, is there any reason you called us here Shamal?"

Time to get to the point.

"We're stood in front of the Kilika Temple with a summoner," Shin laughed "Three guesses, no prizes." And with that, he sat in a corner of shade underneath the temple's outer roof. Just because he enjoyed the heat didn't mean he preferred it over the shade.

"Hmm..." Dekan hummed, leaning on her rather intimidating staff. "I'm not fond of guessing games. Can you just tell me the answer?" she smiled.

Shamal sighed, "Dekan, what Shin was trying to say is that I want you and him to be my Guardians. So will you? I understand if you decide to refuse..."

"I'm in, of course. You are too, right Dekan?" Shin grinned. The revelation fuelled his good mood, even though he had entirely expected it. "Are you going to do the trials now?"

Dekan hummed in thought. "Are you sure me being your guardian won't be too troublesome?" she asked, looking a little worried. "After all, I'm not allowed in the temple because of... you know..."

She gestured to her unique green eyes, proof of her Al Bhed lineage. Dekan didn't want to trouble Shamal if all she was going to bring was ridicule and discrimination.

"You think I care what those old farts think?" Shamal stated placing one hand on her hip and using the other to sweep her hair out of her face, "You are my friend, and I want you to be my Guardian no matter what some people may think. And yes Shin, that is why I called you here to the Temple. I want to start my trails as soon as possible."

"All-right then! Let's get going!" Shin cheered, springing to his feet. "We'd better get inside before you overheat and die. You're sweating buckets!"

Dekan had to smile a little. It was good to know that there were some people out there who didn't mind her being half-Al Bhed or even didn't mind the Al Bhed at all period. And it felt good to be friends with them.

"Well, all right, I am honored that you have chosen me as one of your guardians," she said, sweeping into a low bow before Shamal. "I shall accompany you and help you in your pilgrimage."

Shamal gave Shin a slight smack to the head, scowling at his comment, "Shaddup."

Without another word, Shamal walked ahead of her two Guardians towards the Temple's entrance. Even though she was nervous, she kept on walking. She knew the repercussions of having a half-Al Bhed as her Guardian, but she didn't care. However, it didn't prevent her from getting ticked off at the whispers of other people around them.

Dekan followed Shin and Shamal into the temple, nervous but lifting her chin up high. She was proud to be half-Al Bhed and she never let discrimination get her down. At the most she only smiled politely at those who were whispering about her following Shamal.

They should mind their own business after all.

Cratos frowned as he argued with a portly monk, "I'm a white magician, you can use me here! I promise I won't get in the way!"

The monk rolled his eyes and shook his bald head, "Look at you, kid; you're not normal. Like.. that one over there-" the monk pointed over Cratos' shoulder at a group walking by. One of the girls had green eyes and was carrying a large staff; she seemed apprehensive as she walked behind her two companions.

"She's Al-Bhed.." Cratos mumbled.

"Al-Bhed, pah, they're all tricksters and thieves.." the monk continued, turning his back on Cratos, "-you'd have better luck joining up with the likes of her."

Cratos was about to protest, but his magician curiosity was getting the best of him. He studied the group a little more; they stood tall and their eyes were set on a large door at the end of the hall. Adventurers.. was the first thing that came to mind. The one in the front - the leader from what he could tell - was a girl in white wearing a strange cap; he could sense an aura about her, but couldn't quite tell what it was. Directly behind the girl in white was a guy with three swords strapped to his belt; he had a bit bounce in his walk and seemed almost excited -- the Al-Bhed walked quietly behind him.

Forgetting about his earlier pleas to join this temple, Cratos followed the group from the shadows, keeping himself hidden behind the massive pillars as he watched them.

Shin wheeled around as he heard the blatant racism. "Did you have something to say, monk?" He asked as he approached the stout man, anger weighing upon his brow.
He was tempted to use Threaten, but Shin was confident he wouldn't require such methods as he towered over the monk, his rage seeming to add to his presence. "Go on!" he commanded, but the monk remained silent.
"If you can say it to the kid, you won't mind repeating it to me. Go on!" Shin repeated, unbuttoning the pouch for his large cleaver sword and laying his hand upon it.

Dekan walked up to Shin and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Shin, don't," she said calmly. "We have more important things to do." Turning to the monk, she bowed her head. "I'm sorry for having disturbed you. We shall be on our way."

"Fine." Shin muttered.
"Where's the kid gone? I heard white mage. Might be worth a look?" He asked Shamal, looking into the shadows at the aforementioned person.

"Hmm, yeah he could be useful," Shamal said looking around, "But I don't see him anywhere."

"He's there." Shin pointed, his observational skills and carrot eating abilities allowing him to pick the boy out of the shadows.

Cratos reluctantly stepped forward, bowing his head so his hood covered most of his face, "I am a white magician, what the warrior says is true-" he looked over at the portly monk, then at the group, "-and I don't belong to this temple in case you were wondering," he looked up at the dark-clad woman, then to the leader with the funny hat, "-I have nothing against Al-Bhed, and I can cook, and heal, and I'm no trouble at all, I won't get in the way. Just let me come with you!"

He realized he'd been pleading and blushed before looking at his feet again.

"Well a white mage would be a really valuable asset," Shamal mused to herself then turned to her two companions, "What do you think? Should we make him a guardian as well?"

"Yeah. He' be useful for when we do stupid things. And we always do stupid things. The entire quest is a ball of ridiculousness." Shin voiced his approval. "Besides, if he can learn how to use the magic Holy, he'll be useful in a scrap."

Dekan chuckled softly. "Well, it's a good way to balance out the group," she commented. "Me, a Black Magician, him, a White Magician. It's perfect!"

"We can bring him along anyway, just to see. Anyway, let's bounce, things to see, people to do!" Shin paused for a moment, "Uhh...you know what I mean, let's go!"
