"Hai!" Jaina said as he removed the pan from the oven. The smell of vanilla assaulted her sense of smell and she squealed a little, delighted by her finished product.

"Reo-chan, I did it!" she exclaimed excitedly. "I finally made a cake, all thanks to you!"

"Wow, that's the first time I made something without it burning to a crisp..." Reo muttered as she stared at the cake. She was okay with following the procedures of a recipe, but she was the type to easily get distracted with her own thoughts and she often forgot the food was actually cooking. Or she'd absentmindedly put the wrong ingredient in. With that thought in mind, she was a little anxious about how the cake actually tasted.

"Ne... how do we take the cake out of the pan?" Jaina asked, poking the cake idly and feeling its heat since it was fresh out of the oven. "It's still too hot."

"Er... actually I don't know.." Reo said turning her head and rubbing the back of it with a hand, "You see, I never gotten to this part before..."

"Oh, I see..." Jaina said, pursing her lips a bit.

Fortunately, the teacher had approached them. She inspected their cake, nodding her head a bit at the color. "But next time, about halfway through baking, turn the pan around for even baking because one side has risen more then the other," she said, pointing to the bump on one side of the cake.

She then took it upon her to remove the cake from the pan, separating the sides of the cake from the pan with a knife and then flipping it over on a cake board. She tapped the bottom so that the cake would fall and once removing the pan, there was the cake, sitting there in all its glory.

"Just remove the wax paper on the bottom and then you're free to decorate," the teacher said before moving on to the other students.

"Thank you sensei!" Jaina chirped.

"Thank you very much, sensei," Reo said politely grateful that their teacher was there to help. She then turned to Jaina, "So do you want to decorate, or shall I?"

"You can do it Reo-chan," Jaina said as she pulled the bowl of leftover cake batter towards her and scooped some up with her finger. "I want to see your creativity." She ate the cake batter, licking her finger and smiling at the flavor.

"Okay," Reo nodded gathering the different icing together.

She first coated the cake with white icing, then put some colored icing in different tubes. She decided to go with something simple she since was not used to decorating cakes. Around the rim of the cake, she made an intricate design of roses connecting them on a single vine of icing that went around the cake. She even went as far as to add the thorns.

Jaina leaned over Reo's shoulder, watching her work.

"Wow!" she said, looking at the design. "You're not good at baking but decorating is a different story! You have such a steady hand!"

"Really?" Reo asked still concentrating on decorating, so she didn't bother to turn her head. "This is actually the first time I tried decorating... might be from all the drawing I do."

"Hmmm, I'm jealous," Jaina said and continued watching Reo work.

Reo finished with the final rose, but didn't turn around because she was clearly blushing from all the compliments she was recieving, "Ah... it's nothing really."

Jaina giggled. "Don't be too modest or you'll be stepped on by bigger people," she joked then stepped back. "So are you done? I wanna take a picture of you holding it!"

"Yes, I am finished," Reo said letting the blush die down, "But I don't think it would be very smart if I held the cake. What if I dropped it?"

Jaina took out her cellphone as she pondered her answer.

"Well, I guess we can keep it on the table," she said, flipping her phone open and going through the applications. "Just lean over the table so I can picture you and the cake. Then you can do the same to me!" She smiled.

"If you say so," Reo muttered, doing as instructed then smiled up at the phone. She waited patiently for Jaina to take the picture, though honestly, she wondered why the other girl even bothered including her in the picture.

Jaina positioned the phone carefully to include both Reo and the cake. She then clicked the button and there was a clicking sound that indicated that the picture had been taken. Smiling and satisfied with the picture, Jaina waved her phone at Reo.

"Great! Now take me!" she chirped happily.

"Um okay, do you want me to use your phone?" Reo asked walking over to the girl, "Or should I use my own?"

"Well, if you want to use your phone then okay!" Jaina giggled, coming her fingers through her bright red bangs. "You can use it as your wallpaper too." she joked.

"W-why would I do something like that?" Reo said stuttered, fumbling with her phone, "Anyway, I'll take your picture as soon as you're ready."

Jaina chuckled and positioned herself in front of the cake, smiling widely for the camera and even going as far as flashing a peace sign.

Reo took the picture, and looked at it for a moment, seemingly debating with herself on something. Shaking her head at the foolish thought, she quickly shut her phone and smiled over at Jaina, "Okay I took your picture."

"Yay!" Jaina cheered, clasping her hands together. "This just might be the home economics class I ever had!"

At that the bell rang, signaling the end of the period.

At the sound of the bell, Reo took of her apron and washed her hands. She wondered what they should do with the cake now that class was over, "Hey Jaina, where should we put the cake?"

Jaina wiped her hands on a hand towel and looked at the cake. "Well, don't we take it home?" she asked.

(Wanna time skip now? So we can have Yamato and Kira interaction, we may have to go the love triangle route after all)

"Hmm, I think that may be possible," Reo said not completely sure since she never made anything she wanted to take home. "You can take the whole thing if you want, I don't eat cake very much."

Jaina brightened up. "You mean it?" she said before hugging Reo. "Thank you Reo-chan! Kira-niisan is going to like this!"

She slid the cake into a box and placed a lid over it. This was the first time she was going to bring any of her cooking home.

After all the classes were over, Yamato waited at the gate, leaning against the pole with his arm crossed. Reo was usually here before him, so it was unusual for her to be so late. Suddenly, he saw the twin tailed girl run up, stopping to catch her breathe when she finally reached the gate.

"Sorry.... forgot... my... drawings..." She explained between her staggered breath.

Yamato raised an eyebrow and let out a fake disappointed sigh, "And here I thought you might be making out with someone..."

"M-making out?! WITH WHO?!" The girl demanded to know, clenching her fist and stamping her foot.

Yamato shrugged, sticking his hands in his pocket, "I don't know... Jaina-chan perhaps?"

Reo's mouth fell open and her face flushed red for the hundredth time that day. She wanted to retort, to say something cunning back at him, but she was at a complete loss for words.

Jaina had caught Kira as he stepped out of the school building. Kira had only skipped math today, but the rest of his subjects were still boring.

"Hey, ready to go?" he asked as the younger girl stood before him, beaming. Since they lived next to each other, they always walked home together and usually Jaina would also stay for dinner since she didn't know how to cook.

"Yup!" she chirped, adjusting her hold on the cake box she was holding.

"What's that? A cake?" Kira asked, noticing the box.

"Yeah! I made it in home ec. today!"

Kira raised an eyebrow. "You made something without completely messing it uo?" he asked.

Jaina blushed a little. "Well... Reo-chan helped me..." she said.

Understanding dawned on Kira's face and he chuckled a bit. "Here, let me carry that," he said, taking the box from Jaina's hand which the younger allowed. They then walked off towards the gate, ready to have some relaxation time at home.

"I WAS NOT MAKING OUT WITH-!" Reo was about to protest having finally found her voice, but was interrupted when Yamato spoke up.

"Yo Jaina-chan, Kira-kun," Yamato held up a hand at the two, while smirking down at Reo.

The dark haired girl had visibly stiffened, and turned to face the two carefully. "N-nice to see you again, Jaina-chan, Kira-sempai."
