Dog Days: Vanguard!!! Character Creation

Essentially the story will revolve around multiple nations participating in the war games! It's become a larger event, and larger nations are joining together to start the Vanguard. A larger nation known as Phyllo resides further past Biscotti and even Pastillage. A rather 'aggressive' rebellion occured and the larger nation split off into two. With the two separate nations organizing themselves to participate in war game, they summon heroes of their own in an attempt to fight. Now, with one nation taking the name of Linzar torte and the other of Viennoiserie.

Other royal families are participating in this proclaimed "Alliance" tournament where nations team up and duel it out with their adversaries. There is no time-frame for this as this is an AU, so feel free to sign up as a canon character if you want.

• Battles: The way battles work in the world of Dog Days is that the wars are 'games', to put it mildly. They're used to settle political disputes and to gather funds for the kingdom itself. You don't 'kill', no one dies during these battles. That's because there's a force that riddles the battlefield (Flonyard force, as it's referred to in canon) that prevents that from happening. Mundane soldiers turn into 'beast balls' and are expelled from battle until that round ends. Heroes and captains often receive clothing damage and if they're armor is stripped, they're expelled for that round as well. However, for the sake of the RP, we can just change that to 'enough damage' puts them out of battle.

• Bright Power/Seal Spells: Seal Spells are special attacks unique to each character, think of them as just special moves. You gather up energy from the surround area and unleash it in any way desired. (A strong slash attack, a beam, a barrage of magic artillery, guarding spell) that sort of thing. You can have a multitude of them, but it uses life force. (It should also be noted that over-use of Seal Spells can be life-threatening!)

• Hero Summoning: This is where things get interesting. In times of dire need, nations have the ability to summon ''heroes'' from other worlds to assist them in battle. However, these worlds don't have to strictly be Earth but for the sake of the RP, I'm going to restrict it to Earth (the summoner chooses who to summon, and Earth seems to be the hot spot.) They can come from any background, really, to join in the games. However, to send them back is an entirely different story. So it's safe to say once your here, you can't go home!

1. Biscotti Republic: The nation ruled by Millhiore Filianno Biscotti, a young princess/songtress who treats her people with love and compassion. Recently, they haven't been doing too well against the nation of Galette and they've looked to summoning a hero for assistance.
   
2. Galette Dominon: A kingdom under the rule of Leonmitchelli Galette des Rois. She's a youthful lioness who is as strong-willed as her nation. Former childhood friends with the princess of Biscotti, although their relationship right now is foggy at best.

It's a democracy rather than a monarchy which Phyllo was originally. The nation itself is developing ''steam power'' and trying to strengthen its army with both science and magic.
   
5. Kingdom of Linzar-torte: The original nation, or rather the shell of Phyllo and all that remains. It's a monarchy, still, as it tries to recover from the rebellion that created the Nation of Viennoiserie. Current ruler: Unknown.

Personality: An incredibly charistmatic and outgoing girl who loves everyone around her just as they love her! Her personality is what one her the ''Presidency'' of her people. However, on the inside, she constantly pressures herself and question if she can make the right decisions for her people. It meshes with her outer shell a bit too much, so she just keeps quiet about anything that isn't on the business end of things. Hopes to make her people and her country proud.

History: A girl raised on polotics and how the world worked. Her father was the ruler of Viennoiserie before her, and after his death she was elected in his place. The people thought that she, as his daughter, would share his philosophy and his ideas about the world. A proxy, if you will. Now, at this young age, she was forced into office. As a result, they're actually thinking of an ''age'' limit for these elections but it's still up for debate. It mostly depends on how Abigail does as a leader.

• Seal Spells:
  Seal Spell: Cat Walk: An attack in which Abigail can ''leap'' a far distance with a trail of energy following close behind her. It can be used by her allies nearby, giving them the same boost it gives her.
  Pinna-Cotta Style -- I Can't Swim, Can't Talk or Pee!: A comedic name ''and'' attack that wasn't even her idea. Abigal throws her swords into they air. They spin and spin before smashing into one-another in mid air. It sends a flurry of energy down and into the opponents to dish out some damage. Good for clearing out areas of opponents.
  Rave Wind: A simple attack in which Abigail slashes at the air and sends a beam of gray energy at the opponent. Maximum targets are up to 1 to 4. AoE explosion isn't that large.
  Rave Wind Mk.II: An upgraded version of Rave Wind. The field of effect is large, and it can take out a small army of around fifty to one-hundred people. Takes longer to charge.
  Rave Wind Final Rev. Mk.III -- Certain Kill Edition: Without a doubt Abigail's strongest attack. It takes the form of a spinning, whirling dragon that roars in victory as it charges the opponent. It can take out pretty much anything in its path but once the attack is launched, it can only go in one direction... leaving the user open to attack.
  Rending Fang: An attack in which both of her swords glow a bright white. Her attacks become stronger in this state, although it only lasts for a moment.

Personality: A girl who loves her subjects, friends and family with all of her heart. She tries her best for the people of her kingdom in order to make them happy. She hosts events and even sings for them because she truly enjoys it. Although, she can feel terribly distant from the others around her sometimes. She doesn't know the reason herself, really.

History: The Princess of Biscotti and it's single ruler. Milhiore grew up with her best friend Leonmichelle, who grew up to rule the Galette Dominion. They've grown distant in recent years, however, and she wonders what's going on with her old friend. Now, she seeks to summon a Hero that can accompany her and her nation into battle.

Seal Spells:
Holy Saber: A move in which the sword glows a bright yellow. It's power grows with the presence of Paladion, due to the fact the two swords can execute the same move. It can be used to destroy even cursed ''demon weapons''. It manifests as a large beam of white light that surges forth to destroy the enemy.
Beams of light: These aren't Seal Spells as much as they are projectiles. The Princess can fire off pink spheres of energy from the blade and to the target. They can dive in a straight live or curve to hit the opponent.

Gender: Female

Personality: An extremely outgoing girl who sometimes comes off as annoying at times. She loves to talk to people about anything, mostly music however. She doesn't really ''hate'' any kind of music, but j-pop really isn't in her palette of likes.

History: A girl who enjoys both music and athletics as hobbies. Her parents, overbearing, are forcing her to practice classical music which conflicts with her interests as a young girl. They told her to quit both track and gymnastics to pursue her career. They, as in her parents, didn't have her interests at heart and only focused on their own. Melody rebelled and pursued her own dreams.

Seal Spells:
Lv.1 -- Free Bird: Melody starts strumming the guitar and playing a music number with the same name. Her body ascends into the air with the magic force pushing from below. She can maneuver, flip and dodge attacks at a leisurely pace. The faster she plays the song, the faster she moves. The power lasts for a minimum of three or four minutes.
Lv.1 -- Current: Black Ice: While Melody plays the guitar, and the Flonyard force on the ground solidifies into a slippery black surface. It's use on the battlefield is obvious.
Lv.2 -- Current: Highway to Hell: The violet strums of the guitar spark forth a large circle of fire that appears in front of Melody. The swirling circle, after a minute, turns into a wave of heat that bursts forth to incinerate the foe!
Lv.2 -- Current: Thunderstruck: Electricity builds up in the tip of the guitar as she plays. Magical orbs of energy gather at the tip and then, at the last second, a large beam of blue resembling lightning rushes forth and into the target.
Lv.2 -- Dragonforce:Through the Fire and Flames: As Melody plays, the symbol behind her radiates with a black and red flames. The stroke of the guitar rips at the ground. Soon, the ground breaks and distorts. The surrounding area becomes a bed of flame and lava. It soon explodes outward, launching all enemies nearby away.
Lv.3 -- Metal Earth: For Whom The Bell Tolls: Melody's strongest move. She starts playing the song, however, soon the sound continues without her interference, she holds the neck of the guitar with her hands. The body of the guitar opens up, and bursts out, creating a large blade created from swirling blue energy and electricity. Melody swings the blade down and fires off the energy in a straight blast. It's destructive capacity is capable of destroying a small-fortress with ease, and tons of soldiers. After using this attack, however, Melody is as good as finished.

Appearance: "What are you looking at? Is it strange for me to enjoy the cherry blossoms every once in awhile?"

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Personality: A bullheaded and stubborn girl who holds strongly to her beliefs. She despises being ordered to things she doesn't agree with and will go out of her way to do the exact opposite of what she is told. Often this leads her into trouble, especially with her teachers concerning her choice of uniform. A bit of an idiot due to her unwillingness to budge, she does have a good heart despite it all and will do what she feels is the right thing and is at least willing to learn from her mistakes. She realizes her stubbornness is her greatest flaw and tries to work on it, but sometimes it just gets the better of her.

History: The only daughter of Matsushida Nakamura, a professional boxer who had retired shortly before his daughter was born. He had been raising the girl himself as his wife had died whilst giving birth. While it was a tragic moment in his life, he did not let it get him down, choosing to remain strong for his daughter's sake. While his method of raising wasn't always the best, he did try his hardest. Even though his idea of raising was taking her to the gym from the moment she was old enough to walk and teaching her to box. At least she was taught to only use her fists for the right reasons.

Because of growing up with a father who only knew how to teach her to be a man, she never learned how to be a girl. So she preferred to dress like a boy, act like a boy, pick up very masculine speech patterns. Dresses, make up, the like, all of it was a foreign concept for her that she just didn't understand. In a way, this ostracized her from her fellow girls. Thought there were a few girls who would mistake her for a pretty boy and become infatuated with her, girls she usually ignored. She has never known what it is like to have a female friend. She honestly has no idea how to deal with girls at all. It didn't help that she put on a delinquent act because of the teachers who kept sending her home for wearing a boy's uniform. She's not completely friendless, however. She has a small gang of guys who follow her and look to her as their leader. Michi treats these boys like her family and would do whatever it took to protect them, even taking all the blame on herself if they were ever caught after their delinquent activities.

Additional Note: Her little gang is well known for the Kitsune masks they wear tied to their head and are usually called as such. Though Michi hates that name and would prefer something much better and original.

Appearance: "Mrph... mm... gulp. I-I'm sorry, I shouldn't have spoke with my mouth full."

Gender: Male

Personality: A small mouse boy who gives the appearance of someone shy and meek. In truth, he is actually far from that. He is a sneaky little devil who knows just how cute he is and will often use it to his advantage. While he mostly uses this tactic in competitions and the like, he'll sometimes use it on a friend to get out of trouble. Despite this mischievous side of his, he is actually a very good boy who will stand by his friends and kingdom till the very end.

History: A crossdressing mouse boy from Viennoiserie. He has no real reason for crossdressing, though it helps greatly with his cuteness act. Some believe it's because he grew up with 19 older sisters. But Luca will deny that's the reason. Others sometimes assume he was forced to cross dress as a child. Again Luca denies that one being true as well. Whatever the case may be, most people have accepted that he just likes to dress as a girl, they need no further explanation.

Personality: Yukikaze is kind, eccentric and talkative. She's also the type to cuddle one while they're asleep, or maybe she does that subconciously? Some think it's the latter. She shows respect to her lady Brioche d'Arquien, since they've had so much history together.

History: A young girl who's mother died thanks a to a demon attack. She was taken in by Brioche and the two traveled together. Eventually, they formed a pair of Demon Hunters. Through out their journey they came across the kingdom of Biscotti, and now they call that place their home.

Seal Spells: Yukikaze takes advantage of her agile movements in battle, along with various weapons like her bare fists, a dagger, a bow, ninja shurikens and more. She can also use her magic to assist in her movement (Performing a great jump, increasing her speed, etc.) She can also manipulate life force and energy to increase the power of her attacks (such as a powerful kick that blasts someone into the air, etc). Going full speed also looks as though she is teleporting!

Appearance: "THIS IS HOW WAR IS DONE!"

Personality: Initially appears very cold and ruthless, willing to do anything to claim victory. Advocates very harsh and militaristic practices, and has a proclivity towards extreme violence on the battlefield (even towards her own men, who usually end up in the crossfire). However, this masks Leo's softer side, one very few have seen, including the now-estranged princess of Biscotti. Like everyone else in Flonyard, Leo is also a ham of massive proportions.
History: The princess of Galette. Once good childhood friends with the princess of Biscotti, but as of late, they've had a bit of a... falling out.

Isle of Croquembouche: An island country that follows a matriarchal monarchy. The current ruler is the young "queen" Delarosa von Croquembouche who rules fairly yet firmly. For a modest island country, they have quite a competent military.

*Appearance: "... *munch munch*..." "Yes, I am female. Can you not see my long flowing locks and delicate appearance?"

*Gender: Female, but is actually male

*Personality: Del may look cold and unemotional, but he is actually quite kind and caring. The problem is that he can't express himself very well. He seems to lack the ability to contort his facial muscles into expressions that mirror his feelings. He also tends to speak in a rather deadpan voice, so it's difficult to discern if he's serious or joking. Because of this, many people misunderstand him. However he tries his best to express himself better for the sake of himself and everyone else.

*History: Del is actually Delaroark, the older of a set of twins born into the Croquembouche royal family. His younger sister, Delarosa, was killed in an accident when they were ten. Since their monarchy was matriarchal, it would cause quite a scandal should Delaroark take up the throne. So it was decided that the news should be sent out that it was Delaroark who was killed and Delarosa was the one that survived. Del was then ordered to take up his sister's persona, which was a little difficult since they were quite different (with Delarosa actually able to express her emotions). Fortunately it was passed off that "Delarosa" was traumatized by "her" brother's death, so "she" took up his personality to cope with it.

When Del was fourteen, his mother, the former queen of the Isle, passed away due to illness, forcing him to take up the throne early. There was quite an amount of worry from the royal advisers, since it was the first time in the history of the Isle that a man was to take up the throne. Fortunately, due to their society favoring females and due to lessons, Del was quite the competent ruler and showed fairness to all. Also the advisers were there should Del show signs of wavering from the path of a true Croquembouche Queen.

*Seal Spells: Del incorporates the element of fire in his arrows. Single burning arrows, multiple burning arrows, even arrows that don't burn with flames but burns like a bitch when it strikes the target. Del can also "curve" the arrow/s he shoots, meaning he can actually change the trajectory of his arrows, but the limit is 180 degrees in any direction. His spell "Rain of Fire" is when he shoots a single arrow into the air and it splits into fifty burning arrows that rain down on the enemy. His strongest spell is "The Dancing Dragon" where he "charges" an arrow with his fire and when it is released, it turns into a fiery dragon that can engulf multiple enemies in flames.

*Species: Human

*Kingdom: Isle of Croquembouche

*Class: Assassin, Hero of Croquembouche

*Holy Artifact: Holy Sword Gaia in the form Ritsu prefers.

*Appearance: "E-Eh? Ah... u-um... N-Nice to meet you..."

*Age: 16

*Gender: Male

*Personality: At first glance, Ritsu looks like a weak little kid. He acts like one too, being somewhat meek and nervous around people. In fact, Ritsu tends to collapse when he's around large crowds because he gets so nervous. This is the result of a childhood trauma. Despite that, Ritsu cares for his friends and if any of them ever got hurt in front of him, he flies into a near murderous rage.

*History: Ritsu used to be a real outgoing and care-free kid. He loved to be outdoors and do tons of outdoor activities. That changed when he got kidnapped. He was rescued about a week later, but the incident traumatized him and changed his personality. Now he doesn't like going outside very much and has a moderate fear of strangers.

*Seal Spells: As an assassin class, Ritsu mostly uses his magic for stealth. He can enhance his speed in short bursts, quickly striking his foe and retreating from tough situations. He can also turn invisible, but he has to turn visible again in order to attack his opponent. With the Holy Sword Gaia, he can invoke earth and nature attacks. He can cause low magnitude earthquakes and cause thorny vines to suddenly burst from the ground. ritsu is most powerful when he's in a forest because he can utilize the nature around him to his advantage.

*Name: Ikkaku Akio

*Species: Human

*Kingdom: Nation of Viennoiserie

*Class: Swordsman, Lancer

*Holy Artifact:

*Appearance:Honor to meet you

*Age: 20

*Gender: Male

*Personality: Polite but short tempered boy who is helpful and has interest in honorable duels. He has developed taste to bit sour sweets and salty food and has gentleman manners. Also diplaying fondness to cute things. He get's easily irritated when he is mocked from this. He often keeps his own problems to himself not wanting to bother anyone else with them.

*History: second child of the four child Ikkaku Family. Developing great respect toward knights, samurais, ninja's and other manner warriors. Due to this he took Kendo as his Hobby and and studied other styles as well a bit. After one day he came home all bruised up and kendo sword snapped in two. refusing to tell what happen but only saying "I was simply too weak."

Month Later after the incident Akio came home, less bruised this time and bearing the face of victor this time.

Name: Kohaku Flaons

Species: Cat

Kingdom: Viennoiserie

Class: Swordsman

Holy Artifact: (Uses a black broadsword as a weapon)

Appearance: "This IS IT!"

Age: N/A

Gender: Female

Personality: Calm and collected, a cold blade on the battlefield and an eccentric, chuckling cat girl off of it. She's easily embarassed to the point of absolute hilarity. She takes great joy in participating in the games and it's her favorite pastime.

History: Not much is known about her past, but she was once a friend of the current President of Viennoiserie's father. Others spread rumors about her having some sort of hidden agenda, but no light has been shed on the subject.

Seal Spells: Kohaku uses the Seal Spells to launch a variety of different attacks. A couple to name are "Radical Wave Cannon" in which the blade glows blue and fires a swirling typhoon of energy at the target. Another is "Violent Tempest" which is a blade beam that travels along the ground and into the target before it explodes.

Holy Artifact: Holy Sword Balmight, Holy Lance Calinus, and Demon Sword - Broken Zweihander

Appearance: "What was once lost can be reclaimed.

Age: 50+

Gender: Male (?)

Personality: A man who smiles seldomly as he recalls the loss of the loved ones around him. He's lost his memory, which in effect kills his original personality. Well, not kill, just modify. Gone is the true smile of a boy filled with curiosity, replaced with a cut-throat demeanor. However, that doesn't stop him from enjoying the war games. They were a source of much fun back when he was human, so that part of his soul remains.

History: The original hero of the nation of Phyllo before it was destroyed by a demon and rebellion. He was summoned to be the hero as he had nothing else for him back home. He found love here, of all places, in the princess of the Nation. The two got along and their love blossomed. However, the rebellion forced Apollo's hand. That, combined with the imminent demon attack ruined his entire future. The demon possessed by the sword Zweihander wrecked the nation, killing and absorbing hundreds of people. One of the lives lost was that of the princess. Wracked with guilt, Apollo rushed forward and into the fray to destroy the monster. This is when the country truly split. One half went to form the Nation of Viennoiserie while the other went to form the kingdom of Linzar-torte.

Apollo defeated the monster by pulling the Zweihander out of the beast with the help of two Holy Artifacts, one known as the Holy Sword Balmight and the Holy Lance Calinius. Sadly, at the expense of both weapons, the Zweihander took hold of Apollo. His fate afterward is unknown.

Seal Spells:

• Black Omen: Apollo swings the sword outward as a large, vortex of purple miasma drifts forward to ensare the opponent. It remains stationary for at least five seconds. While inside the twister, sight is impaired and movement is slowed.
  Black Sabbath: Apollo raises the sword into the air, causing a culmination of lightning to flow into the sword. The demon swings it downward, firing off a large purple beam to damage the foe.
  Deviant Blade Complete: The Broken Zweihander regains its original shape for a miniscule amount of time. Attack increases and AoE for his Seal Spells increases slightly. Lasts for a minute.
  Ultimate Dark Void: Apollo holds the sword directly above his head and swings it downward. A beam of energy blasts forward and splits into eight smaller sections as they home in on the opponent.
