Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
"I thought I was the one that asked stupid questions." Alice smirked a bit and sat up, regaining her breath. Standing, she helped Lyra to her feet and brushed her off, a habit after helping Candy up all the time, especially when they were little. "I saved you because I didn't want you to get hurt, obviously. It would be very unpleasant if you ended up snapping your neck or breaking your head."
Standing up straight, she brushed herself off then rubbed her back, the impact not being the most comfortable thing for her spine. Looking down the road, she sighed. "Well.. I scared off one of the horses. Fantastic. Remind me that next time you irritate me, for me to.. count from ten backwards or something."

"Oh it is!" Candy said, smiling. It had slipped her mind actually. It felt so natural to talk to her for some reason.
"I almost forgot. I am sorry that I don't talk to you more, but I don't always have time to talk to everyone," She looked sincerely sorry but was still smiling.

"Yeah, sure," Lyra replied absentmindedly, she was looking away a slight flu- wait, what the hell? She was flushing? The elf shook herself, it must be the heat getting to her or something. That had to be the reason for the flush, no other explanation for it. Certainly wasn't because of some stupid maid who nearly got her killed.
"So..uhm... what do we do now?" Lyra asked, "With only one horse that is.."
---
"Oh it's completely understandable, my princess," Milano reassured, once again moving some of the foliage out the way to allow the princess safer passage, "My duties as a maid keep me busy as well."
Though that was only part of it, most of the time she kept watched on the princess and her maid. Keeping her distance so as to not compromise her mission. Having idle chit chat with the princess would have been frowned upon when she had a mission to accomplish.

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
"Well only one horse means either one of us is walking, or we both ride. I'm sure neither of us wants to walk the whole way, so the latter it is." She sighed, irritated at herself for her own stupidity. Hopefully two riders wouldn't put too much strain on the horse, he was a strong one, thank goodness, so that shouldn't be too much of a problem.
"Do you need some help getting on, again? He's a little bigger than your horse was, after all." Walking over to Lyra, she glanced at her face and raised an eyebrow. "Are you feeling alright? Your face looks a little red.."

"I-I'm fine, it's just a little hot, yeah hot," Lyra tried to wave Alice off, though she wasn't sure why she was so bothered by the maid. "So we have to share a horse.... great... I guess you'll have to help me up then."
The elf sighed in resignation. She wasn't even going to try and embarrass herself by climbing the horse this time. Might as well let Alice help her up and get it over with.

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
Alice wasn't completely convinced by the elf's denial, mostly because it wasn't all that hot now that the sun was starting to go down, but she decided not to press her on it. The last thing she needed was to make her grumpy again, if it wasn't already too late to prevent it.
"Don't worry, maybe one day you'll get tall enough to get on it by yourself?" She smiled and chuckled playfully, the proceeded to lift the elf into the air and onto the back of the horse. After Lyra settled on the back of the saddle, Alice climbed up onto the front and grabbed onto the reins. "Hang on, alright?"

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
(That is strange, I'm certain I replied to that post before.... must not have been able to finish it for one reason or another)
Candy nodded, "I see. That is unfortunate sometimes, I do get to speak with Alice quite a bit," She suddenly noticed her outfit was getting torn up quite a bit by the various plants all around, but she didn't want to complain. This outfit wasn't that important to her anyway, but it still bothered her to look so terrible.
For some reason she felt a tiny bit of embarrassment that Milano would be seeing her princess so dirtied up, but she tried to not make a deal of it. She'd surely get better clothes eventually...

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
"Yeah, I'm an elf, me being tall enough for these monstrosities is about as likely as it is for you to grow a backbone when it comes relationships," Lyra remarked with a hint of sarcasm, seemingly returning to her old self. When Alice told her to hang on, she looked at her waist, hesitant to wrap her arms around the maid. After a moment or two, Lyra finally accepted that it was either that or falling off again and wrapped her arms around Alice.
Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
"Tss. There's no need to get so snippy just because I made a comment on your height, Lady Lyra," the maid commented, just the barest hint if irrtation stress on the 'lady' part, aware that the young elf didn't really like being referred to as such. It was her own fault, though, for speaking of her own slight.. awkwardness.. when it came to personal relationships. She was tryin to be nice, too. Why did Lyra have to go out of her way to be rude, even if it was mere sarcasm.
Brushing it off, he lightly cracked the horse's reins when she felt the arms wrap securely around her waist, satisfied that the young woman wouldn't fall off. Being more cautious now, not wanting to cause another accident, as she seemed prone to airheadedness in this conditions, she started the horse off as a slow trot.

"Humph, don't call me lady, maid," Lyra shot back, not too pleased at being called that again. Formality was one thing the elf could not stand at all, "Look, I just don't like people talking about my height. I'm never gonna be as tall as you humans..."
Feeling the horse move, Lyra unconsciously grabbed onto Alice's waist tighter. How she hated riding these massive beasts. Why couldn't they have walked instead?

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
"Perhaps not, but we'll never be as nimble as you elves, are as skilled in the ways of nature, so it sort of balances out, yes? You can already tell I am quite out of my element, which is why I'm glad I have you along." Trying to get to to reax a bit and go back to her more happy attitude, she decided to try and be a bit supportive, and ignore being referred to as 'amid', as in normal circumstances that wouldn't be odd, especially coming from others of nobility.
She forced herself not to chuckle when she felt the elf's grip tighten, never having met someone so scared of horses. "Try to relax. I won't let you get hurt. I caught you earlier, didn't I? We may not be on the best of terms, but you can, at the very least, trust me to defend you with my life."

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
"I guess you're right..." Lyra didn't bother to mention that humans could be as knowledgeable and nimble as an elf if they ever bothered to spend time out in the woods.
"And I'm trying to relax, it's just this stupid horse keeps moving too much. Are you sure we couldn't have walked instead?" She said hiding yet another flush she felt creeping up. Ugh, why did this maid have to say such knightly things and embarrass her? In fact, why was she embarrassed in the first place?

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
"You can walk, but the other kingdom is a pretty far distance away, and you will most likely end up wearing yourself out before you arrive. Then I'd have to put you back on the horse again anyway. Might as well conserve your energy now and walk the last bit if you really hate riding horses so much." Lightly tugging the reins a bit, she slowed the horse down slightly, so it would walk more evenly for now. Maybe if Lyra got more used to it, they could travel faster again.
"Speaking of conserving energy, the sun is starting to go down, so we won't be riding for too much longer, alright? We'll stop and make camp, and you can have a break from riding this terrifying beast." She smiled to herself, unable to resist teasing her a little bit.

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
Lyra considered it, she really did. If she traveled by the trees, she probably wouldn't tire out as much as Alice seemed to think. But then again, maybe saving her energy really was best. It wouldn't do to be too tired to escape if things turned out badly for them, "Fine, I'll stay on the stupid horse..."
When she heard that they might be stopping soon, Lyra had to stop herself from jumping in joy. Really this horse thing was far too much for her.

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
"That's a good girl," the maid said cheerily, being for playfully teasing than condescending. It seemed that Lyra had thought along the sames lines as herself, she suppose. She didn't trust Derangians. She half-expected them to either attempt to capture or kill them on sight. That thought caused her to grip the reins a little tighter, her jaw muscles tightening. If that happened, she would get Lyra out alive, and try to get herself out aswell. Lyra was capable enough to handle herself, either way.
Letting those thoughts pass, her shoulders slumped as she relaxed again. Now wasn't the time to be getting all on edge.. at least not yet. She was already alert enough anyway.. out of her element on a dirt road in the woods. The tautness of her muscles was starting to make her sore at this point, but still. Glancing back at Lyra, she smiled at bit as the elf's blatantly relieved expression. It was kind of cute.
... wait, what?
Alice blinked at that thought, then shrugged it off, turning back to face the front. She must be tired, it was only a little bit further until they could rest, after all.

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
Lyra couldn't help but notice that Alice seemed a little tense. She was probably over thinking things as usual. The elf had noticed how stiff the maid could. It was sad, really. If only the silly maid would relax once in awhile then this mission would be so awkward. Hmm.. maybe there was something she could do about that..
Wait, wasn't there a hotspring nearby? Lyra vaguely remembered going there once with the other elves. That should get Alice to relax, and if not, at least the elf would get to enjoy a nice warm dip in the water after this dreadful ride on the horse, "Hey, Alice, there's a good spot we could rest a little further down the road, to the left."

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
Alice's thought processes shifted completely as Lyra spoke, glancing back at her as she rode. "Really? Alright. If you reccomend it, then it seems like a good place as any to stop before it gets too dark out." Alice shifted herself, hopping off of the horse's back, sicne they only needed to walk a little up ahead.
"You can get off of the terrible beast now." Alice grinned a bit as she held out her hands to help Lyra down. "Then you can show me the way."

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
"Thank god..." Lyra murmured as she allowed Alice to help her down. The sooner she was off the stupid horse, the better. So relieved she was at getting down, she didn't realize how embarrassing it would be to have the maid help her down.
Once safely on the ground, Lyra dusted herself off before walking purposefully in front of Alice, "It's this way, just past these bushes. You'll definitely know it when you see it."

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
After helping the girl down, carefully holding onto her as she placed her on the ground, she turned to follow her movements, looking off in the direction she indicated. Nodding, she grabbed the horse's reins and led it through the bushes, nudging nay sharp branches out of the way so they wouldn't cut the animal or Lyra.
Indeed, it didn't take long before Alice to pick up on what Lyra had meant. Not far off the path was a seculded hot spirng, steam gently rising off of the heated water. It looked clear and clean as it bubbled up from under the earth. Quite relaxing too, at that. "This looks perfect, Lyra."
Walking over, Alice carefully placed her hand in the water. It was hot, but not overmuch. She could feel the tenseness in her muscles lessen a bit just from that. Heavenly.

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
"Yeah, yeah," Lyra said placing her hand behind her head and grinning cheekily, "Am I great or what?"
The elf was glad she remembered this place. It would make this trip a little less lame to take a nice dip in the hot spring. and maybe the maid would relax enough so they could have a decent conversation instead of those boringly tense ones.

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
"Like an angel in disguise. A very good disguise. You had me fooled for a snippy elf this entire time." The maid half-mumbled a playful insult in response.
Standing up striaght, Alice kicked her boots off and proceeded to start removing her clothes, excited to get into the spring. She was either unbothered by the fact they were out in the open and Lyra was right there, or she simply was oblivious at this point. Either way, she continued, neatly folding her dress and other garmets, setting them off to the side.

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
Lyra's pointed ears turned red at the sudden appearance of naked Alice and she quickly turned away to hide her embarrassment. Dammit, why was she embarrassed anyway? It's not like she hadn't seen the other elves naked before. Stupid, stupid Lyra. Snap out of this. There is no reason to be embarrassed of seeing the stupid maid naked.
Taking a deep breath, her back still turned to Alice, she went about undressing herself. She did it haphazardly, no where as neat with her clothing as the stiff maid was, throwing them about on the ground without a care.

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
Call her OCD, but Alice almost flinched at the way Lyra removed her clothes and tossed them arouund everywhere. So distracted by this was she, that as she moved towards the clothes to go gather them up, she nearly collided with the elf's back, ending up lightly placing her hands on her to stop herself. "Ah, sorry."
Out of curiosity, she stole a look at Lyra, then quickly turned to take care of the discared clothing, folding them and setting them neatly in a stack next to her own. Once satisfied with that, she walked back over to the srping, slipping one foot in before sliding into the water completely, letting out a contented sigh, eyes closing and a gentle smile appearing on her face. ".. very nice."

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
Lyra let out a barely audible surprised sound as she stiffened from the contact. Damn that stupid maid surprising her like that. She can practically feel her entire body heating up. Why was it the maid of all people making her so embarrassed? Anyway, what was the maid doing? She glanced at Alice, seeing her fold up her clothes neatly. Seriously, how OCD was her? No matter, she should just hurry up and get into the water.
Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
"Aren't you getting in?" Alice unintentionally mirroed the elf's thoughts with her questions, eyes closed and not looking back at her, deciding to give the other girl some privacy. She could've sworn she felt her flinch or something when she had accidently touched her earlier. Was she shy? She couldn't imagien the slightly standoffish elf to be that way, but still.
Sinking lower in the water, the miad leaned her head back, dunking her hair in then lifting her head again, slightly sliding her figners throug the short hair that now stuck to her head a bit. It had been a long time since she just relaxed in a bath like this. It was quite refreshing.

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
"Uhm.. yeah!" Lyra replied quickly over her shoulder. Okay, time to stop being so embarrassed. Let's get into the water. Taking one final breath, the elf turned around and stepped towards the water and eased herself in. She pointedly avoided looking directly at Alice, sinking down into the water until it was just above her chin. Not that that was hard, considering her height and everything.
Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
Alice opened on eye, looking at Lyra when she felt the water move as she slipped in. The smaller girl was quickly submerged in the water, and seemed to be looking everywhere but at herself.Alice sat up a bit, skin already getting flushed from the heat of the water. "You seem a bit uncomfortable, Lyra. Are you alright? Do you feel ill?" Her concern sounded genuine, which wasn't all that shocking, considering there was no way she would be able to pick up on the real reason behind the way the other girl was acting. She was dense, after all.

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
"I'm f-fine," Lyra assured quickly. No way was she gonna let that maid know the real reason she was acting like that. That would be even more embarrassing than the overall situation.
Not wanting to give Alice more reason to question her, Lyra tried relaxing, rising a bit from the water. She then ran her hand up to her hair and undone the ribbon tying it up, letting her brown hair cascade down around her shoulders. She quickly shook her head before settling back down in the water.

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
Alice frowned slightly, obviously disbelieveing her objection, but she didn't comment nay further. She'd rather not make this trip any more awkward than it need be. Settling down in the water, she let out a contented sigh, eyes shut.
As she opened her eyes again, about to shoot another worried look in Lyra's direction, she instead ended up sitting there with an awed expression on her face. As strange as it was, Alice couldn't help but think that Lyra looked quite beautiful with her hair down, appearently stunned by the sight as she watched the elf shift herself a bit in the water. How odd. It seemed like she didn't even realize she was just.. staring.

Re: medieval RP - Crack Pairings.
"Do I have something on my face?" Lyra asked, noticing Alice's blatant staring. It was a little embarrassing to have the maid so obviously staring but she didn't think much of it. It didn't occur to her that Alice may have been staring for some other reason. After all, she knew how the maid felt about the princess, even if said maid didn't admit to it.
