Pokemon Academy
Initiation is over. The starter tournament has ended and the reclusive headmaster has addressed the students and promptly disappeared. The students are taking the opportunity to wander around the school and explore.

Re: Pokemon Academy
"Alright Smugleaf, lets explore our new temporary home!" said White, excitedly.
Her Snivy looked up at her with a rather bored look, and shrugged. White frowned. In the short time since she'd gotten this pokemon, it hadn't made a sound. Though she had never really owned any pokemon before; she was fairly certain this was unusual behavior.
However, she would dwell on her pokemon's attitude problem later. Right now she had a whole big school to explore.
"Onward, Buster Brigade!" she said, marching towards the school.
Smugleaf stared at his trainer with a slightly annoyed look; before following after her. He seriously hoped White would forget the "Team Name" she'd thought up on the way here; or at least come up with another one. It seemed he would have no such luck.

Re: Pokemon Academy
Green strode out of the main hall where the students had been addressed with his hands in his pockets. Wordlessly, he left the main school building and walked towards the dorm rooms. More specifically, he was looking to go to the training ground located next to where he would live.
He considered training his Charmander but decided to wait. It would be more efficient to train multiple Pokemon at once. With nothing to run his Charmander against, it wouldn't gain any experience. He looked down at the Poke Ball and at the Charmander within it. It had a look that he couldn't quite describe. He shrugged it off as himself being ridiculous.

Re: Pokemon Academy
Gold walked around the school, his skate board tucked under his arm. Today was his first day of school and he was especially excited for it. He'd learn to be a great trainer and on top of that there was a lot of pretty girls. The boy felt he had died and gone to heaven. It even showed on the grin he had on his face.
"Charms for sale!" He caught a feminine voice say and he turned his head towards a small stand set up, "Guaranteed to improve you Pokemon's abilities in battle and they look cute to boot." The girl behind the stand added with a wink as a Squirtle decked out in some of the charms posed near her.
Score, Gold thought to himself as he made his way over to the stand. He leaned against the wood and tried to look as suave as possible. Though it didn't quite work for a kid like him, "Hey, why don't you and me go out for some tea?"
Something flashed in Blue's eye for an instant, like a predator catching her prey. However, this went unnoticed by the oblivious Gold. So when Blue pulled the meek and shy act, he was none the wiser, "Oh but I couldn't possibly leave without selling all these charms. See, I need to earn money for my tuition. But maybe... if some dashing young man were to buy all these charms from me, I might find some time," She was leaning in close to the kid, definitely working her womanly charm on the lad.
"Alright!" Gold said taking out some money and slapping it on the table "I'll buy them!"
The girl grinned inwardly, Gotcha.
"Oh thank you, your kindness won't be forgotten," She said, pocketing the money. In the corner of her eye she noticed a teacher headed for them. Time to high tail it out of there, "Oh no, I forgot I'm late. I'll see you later, cutie~" She grabbed the Squirtle and ran off, leaving only the charms behind.
Gold stared off, watching her cute butt as it disappeared behind a corner. It took him a good second to shake it off and realize his surroundings, "Wait.... what just happened? Oh man! What about our date?!"
-----
Red threw open the doors of the Kanto Dorm building. He felt excited and energetic. Today he was finally a trainer! He was ready and willing for the battles to come. He held up the pokeball to his face, looking at the Bulbasaur inside, "It's you and me Saur, I'll be counting on you from here on out!"
Saur nodded with a determined look. Red felt he could already understand his pokemon's wishes. Yes, he knew they were gonna get along very well.
Putting away his pokemon, he decided to look around the dorm to see if anyone else had arrived yet. He hoped he wouldn't be the only one here. It was already a shame that Green and Blue were in different dorms. He didn't want to be all alone on the first day.

Re: Pokemon Academy
Green entered the building linking the dorms and sighed. Pretty much everything required by students was in the connected building, probably in an attempt to make the different dorms socialise which was not something he wanted to do. He found a book and took a seat. The book was titled "Advanced Training: EVs". As he read, he pondered over the school. Why, for instance did they choose himself, Red and Blue as the dorm leaders. As far as he was concerned it was a waste of time and served no real use. The dorms did little other than sleep in the same building.
He got looked around the building he was in. It was vast and full of rooms with various entertainment things in them. The library, where he had found the book, had bookshelves which were stacked with decent books although some of them seemed rather out of place for such young trainers, as if the Academy was encouraging excellence.
He also found a room full of video games and a room full of table top board games. There were also a few billiard and pool tables which some students seem to have been gravitationally pulled towards. None of this interested Green as he eventually found a location which he could claim as his own; a desk, for one person although quite large, at the edge of a studying room which would allow him to see everyone inside and those who entered. No one was in the room, but they'd soon realise that it was Green's turf. He dragged an arm chair from one of the relaxing rooms and stuck it next to his desk which had the book from before discarded on it.
Nobody would complain.

Re: Pokemon Academy
Yellow was walking towards the dorm building, "Ah, so here it is..." She was a bit worried, but she was determined. Since she was here, she was determined to become a great trainer just like him. She had heard that he was the leader of the Kanto dorm, and got excited to find out that she'd be in the same dorm.
Her Pikachu was following alongside her. Yellow had put a flower on its head because that made it look cuter, and she seemed happy about that, "So Chuchu, what do you think?" The pikachu just gave a little hop and kept going, clearly smiling as she moved along.
"Chu," Chuchu let out a small sound and Yellow giggled, apparently understanding her, "Of course! And I'm sure we'll have lots of fun too,"

Re: Pokemon Academy
Just outside of the Johto dorm, sitting under a modest-sized tree, was a girl who was staring intently at her Chikorita. The little leaf pokemon was staring back, not only with determination, but also with a little anxiety. It acted tough, but the Chikorita was nervous about being a good pokemon for his owner.
"Well, you don't look really tough," Crystal said, quirking an eyebrow when the leaf on her pokemon's head drooped a little. "But I guess I'm going to have to train you to get tougher, right? I need a tough pokemon to complete the Pokedex and since you're the one I chose, you have to fit the bill."
The Chikorita's leaf perked up at this, looking hopeful as his owner rummaged in her pocket to take out a necklace that had a star-shaped pendant. Clearing her throat a little, Crys put on a mock-regal face as she placed the necklace around the Chikorita's neck.
"I now dub thee Megaree!" she said in a fake British accent, but she immediately dropped the act with a smile. "Hope we can work together for as long as we're friends, okay?" she winked and giggled when Megaree agreed enthusiastically.
~
In his room at the Hoenn dorm, a young boy named Ruby was furiously knitting something blue, a look of intense concentration on his face as his eyes darted between his project and the Mudkip sitting on the bed next to him.
"Why did I have to get a pokemon who looks so unattractive?" Ruby said, checking his knitting to make sure he didn't miss a notch, not noticing his Mudkip's sadness. "I can't very well use you in Beauty contests! You and your evolved forms are just not cut for it!"
He finally looked up and managed to catch his pokemon's demeanor, immediately feeling quite guilty.
"Eh, I guess I'll have to use you for Tough contests instead," he said almost nonchalantly, holding up his knitting to measure it against the Mudkip's size. "You'll definitely look tough once you evolve, right, Zuzu?"
He smiled at the little Mudkip and felt a wave of satisfaction when it smiled back

Silver had been quietly walking around the campus, taking in the sights and trying to orient himself to his new home. He had gotten a Totodile earlier as his starter pokemon but he kept it in its pokeball. He wanted to know his way around campus first before letting his pokemon tag along behind him.
He saw that he was coming up to a corner and was deciding whether or not he should make a turn when he saw that someone else had rounded it quickly. Someone who looked quite familiar...
"Sis...?" Silver muttered to himself as he stopped in his tracks, sure that it was the girl who had been with him back with the Masked Man.
However it didn't seem that Blue had noticed him yet and Silver was right in her path...

Re: Pokemon Academy
Blue had bumped right into the smaller, sending her tumbling backwards on her butt. She let out a small pained noise before looking up at the one who had gotten in her way. Her voice nearly caught in her throat when she recognized the boy in front of her. Was that really him? "Silver...?" Was it really the boy she had once treated as a little brother?
The reunion was short lived when that same teacher yelled out for her. Damn, she couldn't get caught here, not when she was finally with her "little brother". She quickly stood up and grabbed Silver's hand, pulling him along, "Come on, we can go somewhere safer to talk."
They went into the building linking the dorms and eventually into the same room as Green. Noticing her friend, Blue addressed him as she found a spot for her and Silver to sit in the far corner of the room and grabbed a large enough book to obscure her face, "Green, if a teacher comes by, don't mention I was here."
------
Gold sighed, trudging along towards the Johto dorm. He had been so close, so close to scoring a date. Yet it slipped through his fingers. He looked at Cyndaquil in his pokeball, "Looks like it's just us, buddy. Two bachelors against the world. At least I have these charms. They should help us win our upcoming battles!"
He then noticed a girl his age under a tree with a Chikorita. And she was cute too. Maybe his luck was finally changing. Shouldn't hurt to take one last gamble. So he made his was over to the girl and her pokemon, once again trying to look suave and failing, especially with that grin on his face that was far from it, "Are attract and charm your only moves?"
It was a cheesy pick up line, but it was a personal favorite of Gold's.
----
"Huh... looks like no one is here yet," Red commented to himself after a quick search of the dorms. Well that was a bit of a downer. He was looking forward to meeting all the new trainers he'd be battling someday. Well, better to go see what Green and Blue were up to then.
Red headed back to the entrance and opened the door only to be met face to face (or rather face to chest) with a small blonde boy, "Oh are you one of my new dorm mates? Uh... welcome to the Kanto Dorms! I'm Red, the dorm leader! And you are?"

"Pesky woman," He replied, not looking up from his book at her, "you're supposed to be setting an example." Deciding that communicating with his somewhat irritating acquaintance was far too troublesome, he decided to go down to the training fields to put his Charmander through its paces.
Then perhaps he would go to the forest to catch some Pokemon and train. The beach was another option, although the atmosphere didn't currently appeal to him.
He got to the training ground and released his Charmander. He pulled out the Pokedex, which he had been given when he had been travelling with his grandfather, and pointed it at the fiery lizard. The fact that he had one meant that there was a spare Pokedex from Kanto going, as the first three of each tournament had been given them. "Level five huh? Well it looks like you've got a long way to go. This is going to be tough."
"Charmander!" It - he- exclaimed, in what seemed to be excitement. Green nodded and began to command his first Pokemon.
>Green used his FORTNIGHTLY TRAINING on his team of: Charmander on 6/9/12!
<>Green's team grew by 5 levels!
Charmander advanced to level 10! Charmander learned: Ember and Smokescreen! Charmander received 48 EVs!

"O-oh!" Yellow was surprised to suddenly have her face in someone's chest, "Sorry-" She looked up and then noticed who it was. Her heart skipped a beat as he asked who she was.
"Oh, uh, my name is Yellow!" She looked at Red in the face. Did he not remember her? Well it has been a while. She knew he wouldn't recognize her. In fact, she came here without planning to tell anyone that she was a girl.
She continued looking at Red and waited for him to say something.

Re: Pokemon Academy
Before Silver could even say anything, Blue bumped into him and went tumbling to the ground. Silver himself was able to keep upright, but instead of helping his Sis stand up, he just stared at her, still a little shocked.
When Blue suddenly stood back up and grabbed his hand to drag him away, all Silver could say was, "Sis, wha-?" before he was running right behind the older girl. He was soon brought to a room and shoved into a corner where he sat, watching as Blue quickly addressed another older boy and then hid behind a large book.
When the other boy - Green was it? - addressed his Sis as a "pesky woman", Silver couldn't help but throw a glare at him. How dare he! If it wasn't for Blue, Silver wouldn't have kept his sanity while they were with the Masked Man!
Fortunately Green left them alone and Silver was free to fire his questions.
"Sis... what are you doing here?" was the first one out of his mouth.
~
Crys looked up when she heard a voice and she saw a boy around her age approach her. What he said was just a little lost on her though.
"Attract? Charm? I'm not a pokemon," she said matter-of-factly and maybe just a little bit confused. "And besides, my only pokemon right now is Megaree." She gestured to her Chikorita, who was glaring up at Gold. "And his moves are pretty basic. Doesn't have Charm or Attract at all."

Re: Pokemon Academy
"Well, it's against the rules to scam students so I... wait, you meant what I'm doing at the school, didn't you?" Blue said, closing the book and placing it on the table with her hands folded on top of it, "Well it's a bit of a long story... the man who has been caring for me these past few years, Professor Oak, asked me to attend this academy. That grumpy guy that just left was his grandson, Green Oak."
"I wasn't sure if I'd go at first, but..." Blue then smiled at her junior, "But now I'm glad I did, if it meant I could see my favorite little brother again. How have you been Silver? You do still go by Silver, right? Can I repeat your question and ask, why you're here?"
------
Gold blinked several times, baffled at how that went over the other girl's head, "Don't tell you're one of those types? Maaaaan, and here I thought my luck was finally looking up." The boy sighed and slumped back, landing on the ground with a light thump. This was just not his day.
... wait. Something had just clicked in the boy's head. That girl had a Chikorita, one of the starters. That must mean...
"You're that girl who lost to that red haired loser!" Gold exclaimed, pointing his finger dramatically. Then realized what he said and placed his finger down to rub the back of his head, "Well I lost to him too, I so plan on getting a rematch and getting him back for that."
Suddenly, Gold's Cyndaquil popped out of the pokeball and excitedly went up to Megaree as if wanting to play. Gold noticed this and grinned again, "Hehehe, seems our Pokemon know each other."
----
"Nice to meet you Yellow!" Red greeted with a happy smile. Now what exactly was he supposed to do. He wasn't exactly good at this whole Dorm head thing. Or at least, he didn't know the first thing about it. Maybe he should have asked Green before they left, "Uhh... do you need me to show you to your room? But you probably don't need my help with that... hm... Or wait, I'll show you mine!"
He gave the smaller boy a light pat on the back to lead him inside. Along the way, Red pointed out a few places he had found in his first walk through of the dorm, the rec room and etc. Finally they came to a door along the hall that Red immediately opened, "This is my room, if you ever need anything feel free to drop by. You don't even need to knock, my door is always open. Oh, and on this shelf I have some books given to me by the Professor on pokemon training. I don't need them, but if you want, you can borrow one."
----
Platinum Berlitz sat in a chair in the rec room of the Hoenn Dorms, idly skimming through a book on Pokemon Evolution someone had left on one of the tables. It was stuff she had already learned from Professor Rowan so she was easily bored by it. What she really wanted was to see an evolution first hand, preferably one of her own pokemon. She was sure she'd be able to do that at this school and much more.
She pulled out a pokeball from her bag and let out her Piplup. The pokemon immediately went into her trainer's lap, "You'll evolve for me, won't you Piplup?" Her voice had a airy elegance about it, fitting for that of a fine lady.
The Piplup nodded making a sound in agreement. It wouldn't let it's trainer down. Well, that was wonderful. If her pokemon was eager to help her then it would just make the experience even more great. But Piplup wasn't exactly gonna evolve without leveling first.
>So the young heiress headed to the Training Grounds. She paid little attention to the brown haired commoner that was already there. Instead, she tried to recollect her knowledge of training Pokemon to get the most out of Piplup's training.
"I wasn't sure if I'd go at first, but..." Blue then smiled at her junior, "But now I'm glad I did, if it meant I could see my favorite little brother again. How have you been Silver? You do still go by Silver, right? Can I repeat your question and ask, why you're here?"

Re: Pokemon Academy
Silver couldn't suppress a smirk. "Your 'bit of a long story' was just summed down to one sentence," he said. Still, he was grateful that his older sister was taken in by someone as renowned as Professor Oak. He had yet to meet the man himself but he had heard of the professor's achievements (like any other sane pokemon trainer). The grandson on the other hand...
"I'm glad that I met you again too Sis," Silver smiled. "And I've been fine, mostly. Yes I'm still Silver, and I'm pretty much here he same reason as you are, only it was Professor Birch who recommended me and he didn't take care of me." He paused to lean forward and rest his chin in his hand. "To be honest there are a lot of questions I want to ask you but I don't know which one to ask first..."
~
Crys didn't seem to know what to make of the boy. He said some confusing things at first about "types" and "luck" which she didn't understand, but then he mentioned the red-haired trainer that they had both apparently went up against.
"So what if I lost to him, it doesn't matter," Crystal said. "You win some, you lose some, the point is getting stronger despite losing. And you shouldn't want a rematch just to beat the other trainer too. Think of how your pokemon might feel."
She watched as Megaree warily circled the Cyndaquil but accepted its affection anyway. That brought a smile to her face because it was too cute a sight. "It seems like it's your Cyndaquil who knows my Megaree."

Yellow allowed herself to be pulled along by Red, walking with his stride. She didn't say much as he showed her most places. They were going to Red's room? A slight blush crossed her face as they walked along, but it dwindled as he showed her meaningless rooms (Meaningless to her). But then they reached his room and the blush came back, fiercer.
"Wh-wha? Of course I'll knock..." She said as she looked a bit at the books, "Thanks, they should help. I don't really know a lot about training," she let out a small nervous laugh as her blush grew more, and she rubbed the top of her hat.

Re: Pokemon Academy
White wandered through the dorms, aimlessly. She wasn't sure where exactly she was supposed to go; so she'd decided to find her rooms first. She supposed that after she found out where her room was, she'd go outside and try to catch stuff. As she walked down the hallway, she noticed an open door. Deciding that this was the perfect opportunity to introduce herself to her fellow students, she barged inside without bothering to ask for permission.
"Hello, fellow students and potential future sparring partners!" she said, rather loudly. "I am White, furious femme fatale of Unova!"
Snivy, meanwhile, just put it's face in the palm of it's hand. It was seriously starting to wonder how this idiot had won a pokemon tournament.

Re: Pokemon Academy
"Where's your sense of competition?" Gold asked the girl. Really, what was the point of losing if you didn't work to make yourself better and beat the one who had defeated you, "Besides, Exbo wants fight against that guy too, don't you?"
The cyndaquil turned it's attention from the chikorita to make a noise of agreement. Gold grinned back, happy with the answer his pokemon gave.
-----
"No problem," Red replied with a smile when suddenly an unexpected visitor barged into the room. The boy could feel a drop of sweat bead down the side of his head as the girl went about introducing herself, "Femme Fatale?" He was sure he heard that word used to describe Blue before. Maybe it had something to do with brown hair? "Oh, uhm, I'm Red, the head of the Kanto Dorms. Nice to meet you White."
----
"When did you get so cheeky?" Blue asked, giving Silver a playful nudge for his smart remark on her "long story". He then mentioned asking more questions, so Blue leaned forward, cupping her chin her hands. "Ask away, I'll answer what I can." She didn't mind answering his questions. He had a right to ask them afterall.

Yellow had no idea what White was going on about, but since Red introduced himself she did so as well, "My name is Yellow, and this is my partner, Chuchu," she gave a gesture towards the Pikachu, who gave a little bow.
Yellow smiled at the Pikachu but then turned back toward White, giving her a neutral expression.

Re: Pokemon Academy
Crys hummed in thought. The guy had a point, but... "I'm not really interested in battling," she said. "Sure I need to battle to help my pokemon grow, but I'm more interested in researching them. And I'm actually helping Professor Oak by catching pokemon for his Pokedex."
As proof, Crystal took out her sleek new Pokedex. Just the thought of catching pokemon to fill up the database made her shiver with excitement.
~
"Well, you look better already Zuzu," Ruby said with satisfaction as he looked down at his newly clothed Mudkip. Zuzu looked skeptically at his new dark blue poncho, but he didn't voice any protest. If this is what it takes to get his trainer to like him more, then he'll accept it.
"All right Zuzu, let's get some training done. You need to learn the finer points of Contests if you want to win one!"
With that said, Ruby and Zuzu left their dorm room and headed towards the training center.
~
Silver idly twirled a lock of his red hair around a finger and asked the first thing that came to his mind.
"After we escaped... where did you go?"

"Nice to meet you two," said White, smiling at the two of them.
She then turned around, and picked up her snivy. She then held it up so the two could see it.
"Oh, yeah, this here is Smugleaf. Smuggles for short," she said.
White paused for a second, giving them a chance to gaze in awe upon her awesome pokemon before continuing. It also gave her time to try to think of what to say next.
"So, you two know where a girl could catch some awesome pokemon near here?" she said. "Smuggles is awesome, but I think he's going to need some allies,"

Re: Pokemon Academy
"Well, I didn't go to any particular place..." Blue explained. She had expected this question would be first, "Rather, I went where ever I could to survive. I had to find new suckers to con out of their food and money. That kinda changed when Professor Oak caught me after I picked his pocket."
"I was prepared for him to turn me into the police," She continued, looking off idly. It was as if she was imagining those events all over again, "Imagine how surprised I was when instead he offered to give me a home. A place to stay, food to eat, it was more than I could ever hope. I really owe my life to Green's grandfather."
----
"You have a grass type too?" Red asked as he let out his Bulbasaur, "This is my pokemon, Saur. Say hi to everyone, Saur."
"Bulba, bul!" The pokemon greeted happily. It seemed eager to meet the other pokemon in the room and make friends.
When White asked about where to catch pokemon, Red scratched the back of his head, "I'm not sure, actually." Something else he'll have to ask Green about. He can already hear the lecture that was sure to come.
-----
"Researcher eh?" Gold stood up suddenly, puffing out his chest slightly, "Well if you need any help, just come ask me. I'm a bit of expert on pokemon, if I say so myself," He rubbed the bottom of his nose in a cocky gesture. His over confidence was showing just a tad too much, "I did grow up surrounded by pokemon after all!"
----
"Good work, Piplup," Platinum said after checking her pokedex for her pokemon's growth. Level 10 already, that was good. They were definitely making progress. The piplup walked up to her trainer, looking very proud of itself. The girl couldn't help but to smile at her pokemon as she patted it's head. "We should work on preparing you for contests too. We can't be half hearted and only focus on one aspect of your training."

"I don't know, either," Yellow said, putting her hand to her chin, thinking, "You can probably walk around and come across them though, right? Pokemon are everywhere,"
"But if anyone can help you catch good pokemon," Yellow said, smiling while turning to Red, "It'd be Red. I'm sure he'll find the best pokemon there are on this island,"

Re: Pokemon Academy
Silver smiled a little. He was glad that his older-sister figure was lucky enough to find someone to help her. "I want to meet this Professor," he said. "I want to thank him for taking care of you."
He then sighed a little sigh. "As for me I was basically the same, though I was able to make some money from trading other people's pokemon. I met Professor Birch when I traveled to Hoenn and he was so impressed with my trading skills that he offered to be my sponsor here at the Academy."
He paused for a moment, then asked, "So why are you attending the Academy?"
~
"Aren't we all?" Crystal said a little dryly. It was hard pressed to find someone who doesn't have a pokemon or grew up around one. "But sure, I'll take your advice if you're up for it." She didn't really believe the guy, but it wouldn't hurt to make a friend or two at the Academy. "What's your name anyway? I'm Crystal."
~
There were plenty of other trainers at the training center and they more or less stared when they saw the clothed Mudkip trotting next to a smug-looking Ruby. It wasn't everyday that they saw a pokemon wearing clothes. Ruby only thought that they were either admiring Zuzu or were jealous.
"All right Zuzu," Ruby piped up. "Let's get training!"

Re: Pokemon Academy
Smugleaf extended it's arm towards Bulbasaur. He supposed it couldn't hurt to get to know the other regions' plant starters. Especially considering that it was only a matter of time before his master challenged one of these two to a pokemon battle.
White, meanwhile, was distracted by Yellow's comments about Red. Could it be that she had stumbled upon a potential yaoi couple? If so, she suspected that Yellow would be the hopelessly enamored one, and Red would be the completely oblivious one.
She smiled at Yellow.
"You seem to admire Red quite a bit," she said.
