"My father... If you know where he is without me telling you anything about him... then I am sure that you are someone who will be able to help me." she said as she picked up her umbrella and then turned away from the people talking to her, sighing. "But if you must know... My name is Shinjou... Shinjou Kurosu, if that helps any of you."

Klara blinked then muttered to herself, "Ooookay then, someone's been to crazy town and back.."

"A-anyway," She continued on, turning towards the other girl, "I don't know any vampires in this area with your surname. And I'm pretty sure I've met with most if not all vampires around here. Do you not have any other clues to lead you to him?"

Before the young fledgling could answer the questions directed to her, Morgan spoke up. "Maybe Amelia herself doesn't have any enemies," she said, looking thoughtful. "But I can think of a couple other Bloodchiefs that I have angered over years." She reached for her tea and gave it a delicate sip, letting that little bit of information sink in.

Mariss watched the exchange silently for most of the conversation. Now that Amelia spoke, it did make sense. She, too, hadn't been out of the mansion often, and she had seen Amelia around quite a lot when she was home. She visibly relaxed a bit, glad that it was not one of the clan who had committed such at at, at least that's not how it seemed anymore. As they all began to examine the necklace and ponder on who could've framed Amelia, she turned her attention to her mistress, nodding along with her.

"You have an excellent point, my mistress. It certainly makes sense to me." Everything her master said made sense. She was infallible. At least, in her eyes. "If you'll allow me, mistress, I'll be happy to check if I recognize the scent or taste." Bowing to her mistress, she stepped forward and gently took the bracelet from Amelia, being careful not to get her scent on it too much by just gently holding one bead between two fingers.

Holding the bracelet to her face, she lightly sniffed along the thing, sorting through the scents. She picked up Amelia's scent as well as a hint of her own, but there were a couple more lingering, one slightly stronger than the other. Poking out her tongue, she slid it along the bracelet in a slow, almost sensual manner. it was done completely on purpose, but she made it seem like just the way she did things, pulling her tongue back into her mouth when she was done, looking downright casual. "Hmm.."

Morgan smirked at Mariss' antics, finding it amusing at just how convincing her Duchess can be when it comes to combining sensual and casual. She knew about Mariss' orientation and had an inkling about the Duchess' infatuation with her, but that doesn't mean Morgan would make it easy.

Kyouya, on the other hand, resisted the urge to roll his eyes. He also knew of Mariss' infatuation and though it didn't really bother him he found it hard to not feel exasperated.

"What do you detect, my Duchess?" Morgan asked, still smirking at Mariss.

Ruthven raised an eyebrow at Mariss. He knew he'd met her somewhere before, but he couldn't put his finger on it. He doubted she was a former conquest, as she wasn't trying to kill him.

He sighed; he'd met so many people since he became a vampire that it was impossible to remember them all; and he instead decided to focus his thought processes on the case at hand. Where he had met this person before would probably come to him later.

"Vampire, undoubtedly." She said, lowering the bracelet from her mouth and closing her eyes. The scent and taste lingered, and she seemed to stand there and mull it over for a moment, her tongue grazing across the roof of her mouth. "Familiar, too. We've definitely interacted with them before, so they're most likely an enemy of ours.. though not one we spent a long time around, because I cannot pinpoint the scent exactly, hn."

As she was thinking things over, trying to remember the name of the other Vampire clan, her eyes suddenly landed on Lord Ruthven. He looked.. like someone she knew. She swore he did. Like she used to see him on a semi-regular basis a couple hundred of years ag- "Ah!" She suddenly exclaimed, distracted from her analysis as she looked at the man. "Lord Ruthven! Elaine's Bloodcheif! I can't believe I didn't recognize you.. it's been many years since I saw you. How's Elaine doing?"

"Ah, I remember you; you're Elaine's ex-lover!" said Lord Ruthven. "She's doing fine; she's actually become a fairly successful private detective,"

"That would be me," she said, smiling fondly at the nostalgia that hearing those words brought back. They were good times, with a little bad mixed in, but still fond memories all in all. She couldn't remember why they split, though.. probably just boredom from being together with long for a very extended period of time. Snapping out of her memories, she turned back to Lord Ruthven. "A private detective, really? Good for her. If I don't run into her anytime soon, would you mind telling her I said hello?"

"I shall," said Lord Ruthven.

"At the moment, my suspects are Dracula, and that one punk-rocker bloodchief...what was her name...Maledicta or something like that," said Elaine.

"Since one of them is rather difficult to find, and one of them probably wants to kill me, I think our best course of action would be to capture that Vampire Hunter and beat some information out of him," she said.

"Would you really trust such a person...?" she said to Elaine, then looking at the shaman. "Yes, I do have a bit of clues as to who my father is... I overheard the vampire hunter talking about a certain successor of Dracula... However, that doesn't mean too much for me. It didn't help me, at least." she said as she went over to the counter of the bar. "I'm getting thirsty..."

"It wouldn't be a matter of trust as much a matter of him being too terrified to dare lie to me when I'm done with him," said Elaine.

Morgan hummed in thought. "An enemy clan would make a lot of sense," she said. "But somehow I don't think that's the whole picture..."

When Mariss exclaimed about her ex-lover Morgan had to raise an eyebrow. What a small world, she mused to herself. Not even I have met any of my ex-lovers. But then again they're all dead...

Kyouya also raised an eyebrow but he refrained from saying anything. He did feel that Mariss' ex-lovers had some guts to be with her though.

"As nice as catching up on old times is, I feel the need to point out that we have much more serious matters to deal with first," The phantom said, crossing her arms over her chest. She had no time for this. She needed to find the vampires who killed that human and take care of them at once.

"Elaine has a point, besides I have at least one phantom in my clan who are very effective in getting information from people," Klara said as she took a seat at the bar next to the vampire, swinging her legs, "I can call them here if you want."

The bartender gave her a glass with blood in it, but she just looked at it and pointed. "What is this?" she asked. The bartender told her it's blood and she just looked at it and sighed. "Do whatever you two want."

(With Cathy gone and all, retconning like a bitch now. Hope you don't mind David.)

Klara and the vampire woman she met earlier were in the room with the vampires and phantom the whole time. Nope there was no mystery with a vampire girl, no sir. They had totally been there the whole time, Elaine having followed her blood chief and Klara having met up with her phantom before leaving.

Elaine, who had been uncharacteristically quiet considering there was an epic mystery unfolding before her, spoke up.

"Mariss, good to see you," she said, before she turned to the phantom.

"take me to the scene of the crime please," she said.

In a dark room in an old castle...

Chassity appeared before Jace, giving him an overall disgusted look, "The deed is done, but it would seem they're putting more into this investigation than we initially thought,"

Jace nodded, "That's fine. As long as they don't realise it's us the BloodChief has no problems,"

Chassity sighed, "Is that all? I have a little girl that needs attending,"

Jace laughed, "Surely, go forth and have your fun," Chassity rolled her eyes and left as suddenly as she appeared.

Jace smiled. It was time he took a personal touch in this. He left to go spy and see the situation for himself, intending to overlook this whole setup more directly. The Bloodchief wished for war, and Jace had promised him war. Things would go just as planned if everything works out...

Mariss jumped in shock at Elaine's voice, turning to look at her. ".. Elaine. You've been here the whole time? How on earth.." How had she not noticed her? Elaine certainly had gotten better at being subtle between when they were together and now.

Huffing softly, she turned her attention back to the others. "There's no need, I am.. eighty-five percent certain I know who the culprits are.. though if you insist, Elaine, I'm sure Miss Phantom wouldn't mind. You've always been one for mysteries."

It was nice seeing Elaine again, regardless of the circumstances, and she smiled a bit at her ex. It brought back a lot of old memories, both fond and.. less than pleasant.

"Yeah, I was behind Lord Ruthven the whole time," said Elaine. "And yes, I think it would be best if I were to investigate the crime scene; though I'd LOVE to hear your theories,"

Morgan smothered a giggled with her hand. She had known about her extra guests, but it was amusing when her fledglings didn't. Mariss' reaction was funny, though not as funny as Kyouya's who jumped violently when Elaine spoke up. He was now leaning on Morgan's chair, clutching his chest where his heart was beating furiously and muttering about sneaky vampires.

"You are dismissed," Morgan said to her fledglings. "Stay at the manor. We shall have a clan meeting later on."

The fledglings bowed and left in a whisper of the shadows.

"Uhm.. let's here Mariss' suggestion then I'll have Akiko escort you to the crime scene, Miss Elaine," Klara answered, trying her best to keep a calm and composed aura despite being a small girl in a (metaphorically speaking) lion's den. It did help to know her most trusted phantom was by her side though. And she did trust Lord Ruthven and Morgan not to turn her into their next meal. Even though Shaman blood is considered a delicacy amoung many vampires.

Akiko nodded her agreement, "Yes, it would be wise to hear from Mariss first. We have one of our people currently guarding the crime scene so the evidence won't be tampered with. We can afford to wait a bit."

As the phantom woman had mentioned, the young Dimitri paced around the area. He had gotten bored of just sitting and waiting so he decided to walk around and move a bit. He made extra sure he did not step too close to the area. Even the slightest tampering on evidence may mess up any investigation his shaman was hoping to have.

It had been two hours since his shift started and he'd be here for the rest of the night. It didn't bother him much though. Phantoms needed sleep as much as they needed food. It wasn't like lack of it would kill what was already dead after all. Something did bother him though, the complete lack of sound, "Heh... it's almost too quiet out..."

Mariss visibly puffed up at Elaine's words, eyes narrowed slightly as her hair seemed to stand on end a bit. She had forgotten how quickly Elaine could get on her nerves. Must have been all the time they spent together before.. she knew the ways to get under her skin. One of the many ways was to doubt her skill. Still, it cheered her up a bit when both the Phantom and the Shaman seemed genuinely interested in what she had to say.

She gave Elaine a victorious look before she went to speak, standing in a way to make herself seem more prominent in the room, despite her short stature. "As I was going to say before Elaine so rudely interrupted the conversation, I have a.. moderately certain idea who the culprits were. It's a little shaky due to our lack of contact with them in many years.. but I believe the scent was that of the Gamborians."

She glanced back at Morgan, to see if she recognized the name. "While it's a little uncertain, their scent is a little out of the ordinary, so I'm pretty sure I've got the right hunch, my mistress."

Jace stood atop a city building. He was using a bit of magic to look far down at the phantom that protected the evidence. It should be easy for him to slay this thing. Phantoms were fast, but a sneak attack...

He didn't want another death, but.... well, it wouldn't be 'dead', would it? He held back a laugh.

He dropped suddenly from his position, slowing time along the way. Everything around him seemed to slow down, an onlooker wouldn't even be able to make out his appearance. But the Phantom would be fast enough to see the movement, even though it was silent...

It all came down to the timing. Jace aimed his fist at the phantom, his blade extending out for the attack...

(His blade is roughly 13 inches in length fyi)

"So you're telling me that no one showed up at the museum?"

"Not a one, Jalam. Weird, ain't it?"

"Yeah, well-"

The golden skeleton paused and the two zombies stopped walking.

"Is that a ghost?"

"Is that wankah tryin' to STAB a ghost?"

"...Wanna watch this?"

"Yeh."

Morgan's eyes went wide at the mention of Gamborians. They were a rather strange race of vampires to be honest and if the rumors she heard were right, they were very blood thirsty as well.

"Gamborians... I see..." she muttered, putting a hand to her mouth and looking thoughtful.

"Morgan-san?" Kyouya asked, looking concerned.

Morgan shook her head and said, "They have a very... distinct reputation. But why they would do this - assuming it was them - is beyond me. We have been at relatively peaceful terms with them. They don't bother us, we don't bother them."

"If it's them, they'll be a pain in the ass to kill," said Ruthven. "I recommend using explosives,"

"You've wanted to blow stuff up since you found out what gunpowder was," said Elaine.

Dimitri had sensed the attack coming and had reacted quickly, turning as he instantly formed a shield, blocking the incoming attack with it. He grinned speaking to his assailant, making his french accent quite noticeable, "Monsieur, it is not very honorable to attack from behind, no?"

The phantom jumped back, making the shield disappear and a rapier appear in his hand, "So now shall we, how you say, have a proper duel?"

"The Gamborians why would they...?" Before Klara could finish her sentence, she gasped suddenly, causing the phantom next to her to turn towards her in worry.

"Klara-sama, what's the matter?"

The small girl looked up at the ghostly woman with a look of worry, "It's Dimitri, he's being attacked by a vampire. Someone is trying to mess with the evidence at the crime scene."

"Understood, I'll go lend my support right away," Akiko said heading out to the door, but she paused turning her head slightly to the vampires, "Whoever is attacking my comrade probably knows about the murder. You might want to follow me in that case."

"This is where I shall take my leave," said Lord Ruthven. "Unless Morgan wants an alliance, I see no reason to stay,"

For framing her mistress, they would die slowly by being ripped apart. She didn't need explosives to teach them a lesson. Still, she wouldn't let her irritation show, for now, and would instead conduct herself in a relatively respectable fashion.

When the Shaman gasped, Mariss, too, looked over at her, eyebrow raising slightly. She perked up a bit as she listened. She had no idea who Dimitri was and honestly didn't care.. but apparently he was being attacked by someone who wanted to get rid of the evidence, and that was good enough for her.

"I will gladly help any way I can!" She turned to Morgan and bowed. "Mistress, I am going to go assist our new. .friends.. and see if I can get more information on this murderer."

She went over and stood next to Akiko, ready to follow, a slight smile on her face.
