"Yo," Kira said, giving the two a two-fingered salute.

"Hi!" Jaina chirped, looking cheerful as always. "Are you guys going home? Where do you live? Do you want to walk with us?"

Kira placed his free hand on Jaina's shoulder. "Don't forget to breathe and wait for someone to answer one question before asking another."

"Yes, the district east of here, and sure if it's on the way," Yamato said answering all three questions at once. He was still grinning cheekily at Reo who had gone very quiet.

She glared back at him with a look that said 'you better not mention what you said earlier.'

"Hm, east huh?" Kira hummed. "Well we live up north."

"Yeah!" Jaina said. "And we have to take a train too!"

"Hmm," Yamato mused on this, "How about we walk with you to the train? There's a coffee shop nearby I think, and I do owe loud mouth over there a cappuccino."

"You also owe me that bagel you stole from me," Reo muttered crossing her arms, "And don't call me loud mouth, idiot."

Jaina gasped. "We'd love to go! I've never had a cappuccino before!"

Kira looked down at Jaina with serious eyes. "After what happened last time you are not going to drink coffee again!" he said in a stern tone.

Jaina pouted. "Then what am I supposed to drink at a coffee shop?"

"They have milkshakes there I'm sure. But no coffee."

Jaina only groaned.

"Alright, then it's a date," Yamato said with a grin then bent down to whisper to Jaina, with mischief dancing in his eyes, "I can sneak you a cappuccino later."

Reo scrutinized the two before muttering, "He's up to something, I'd keep an eye on him Kira-sempai."

"Duly noted. I know how Yamato is," Kira muttered back.

"Yay! Let's go!" Jaina cheered, linking her arm around Reo's and pulling her away from the school gate. "To the coffee shop we go!"

"Ack!" Reo yelped getting pulled away. She quickly composed herself, but couldn't hide the blush that stained her cheeks yet again. It must be a new record for her.

Yamato grinned as usual, walking in step with Kira, "Those two seem to be having fun." He noted out loud.

Kira shrugged a little. "It's Jaina. Even though she's annoying you can't not have fun with her however reluctant you are. It's her superpower."

Up ahead Jaina was animatedly telling Reo about a movie she watched last weekend. She even accentuated her words with wild hand gestures.

Kira looked at Yamato with a questioning look on his face. "I saw you hanging around Genji today. You seem to be having 'fun' with him as well."

"Well, you know me," Yamato said tilting the cap, he put on his head as soon as school ended, upward, "I'm just too irresistible."

Reo sweatdropped a bit at how fast and animatedly Jaina was talking, but listened none the less. Genuinely smiling at the girl.

Kira smirked. "And yet I'm standing here resisting you," he teased a little. "I guess there's a first time for everything."

Jaina caught her breath and smiled at Reo. "So, Reo-chan, have you seen any good movies lately?"

"I'm not so sure about that, we all know you just can't wait to rip my clothes off," Yamato said teasingly, laughing loudly to himself.

"Um... I not really, I did see this god awful American movie called the Last Airbender," Reo answered after some thought.

Kira's smirk grew wider. "Sounds like you're eager for me to do such a thing," he said. "But I'm afraid I can't. We're in a public place after all and I'm not into exhibitionism."

Jaina's mouth formed a little o. "I heard of that! But why do you think it's awful?" she asked.

"Touche," Yamato said, knowing none of his usual tricks would work on Kira. The boy was just unteasable. "Ah I think I see the coffee shop up ahead. I really hope she forgot about that bagel, there's only so much money I'm willing spend on a girl I'm not dating."

"Let's just hope never find out," Reo said almost cringing at her memories of that horrible movie.

Kira chuckled and said nothing else since they were nearing the coffee shop. He went to the door and pulled it open for Reo and Jaina (who was wondering if she would really hate that movie if she ever watched it), letting the two girls walk in first.

After Reo and Jaina walked in and they followed in behind them, Yamato headed over to the counter saying over his shoulder, "Why don't you three find a table? I'll bring the drinks." Yamato then paused, "Oh wait, I didn't catch what you wanted Kira-kun."

Kira shrugged. "Order anything for me," he said. "And a plate of cookies for Jaina."

"Chocolate chip please!" Jaina added with a smile. She then walked off towards an empty table, pulling Reo along as well with Kira at their wake.

Reo was pulled to a table and found herself a seat. The table round and only large enough to fit four people. She fiddled with her thumbs a bit as she waited patiently for Yamato to return with the drinks.

Meanwhile, the gray haired boy quickly ordered their drinks and some chocolate cookies for Jaina. He sauntered over to the table carrying the drinks in one arm and the cookies in his other hand.

"One cappuccino for the loud mouth, a milkshake for miss sunshine," He said setting the two drinks in front of Reo and Jaina respectively. Then he set a coffee in front of Kira, "And a coffee for Mr. Grinch."

"And a frozen coffee for the most handsome and dashing man in the whole room," Yamato added taking a seat next to Reo and setting the cookies in the middle of the table.

Reo only snorted at the absurdity of his statement.

Kira only raised an eyebrow at Yamato's narcissist comment and had to agree when Reo snorted. He picked up his cup of coffee, removed the lid, and then blew at the scalding liquid a bit before taking a sip. The beverage burned his tongue a little, but it tasted nice and bitter. He chased the coffee with a cookie, blending sweet and bitter on his tongue.

Beside him, Jaina busied herself sipping her milkshake, inwardly squealing at the sweetness. The cookies were nice and soft too, fresh out of the oven.

"I'm coming back here tomorrow!" she exclaimed excitedly.

"Well, why don't we make this a ritual of sorts then?" Yamato suggested, taking a sip of the chilled coffee. The cold drink going down his throat cooled down his insides, and he was careful not to drink to fast or risk getting a brain freeze.

Reo shrugged, chewing on a cookie. She swallowed it down before speaking, "Sure, I have nothing better to do."

Jaina wiggled in her seat, excitement showing plainly on her face. "Yay! A ritual with new friends!" she giggled before nibbling on her remaining cookie half. "This will be so much fun!"

Kira only sighed softly before pulling his book out of his bag and leafing through it, finding his marked page and reading. He didn't really mind a ritual; at least it'll be a slight change to the little rut he found himself in. It has been weeks since his last fight with anyone but it was good to have a break every once in a while.

"So Jaina-chan, any interesting stories you can tell us about Kira-kun?" Yamato asked leaning over toward the table with a devious glint in his eye.

Reo merely rolled her eyes, pulling out her sketchpad and a pencil. Since they already knew about her preferences for drawing, there was no point in hiding it.

Kira tensed, not liking where the conversation was going. And knowing Jaina, she's going to spill a whole lot more then beans.

"Well, did you know that when we were kids Kira-niisan was a big crybaby?" she giggled behind her hand.

Kira wished he could fall into his novel.

"You don't say, so big tough Kira-kun was a cry baby?" Yamato grinned, stealing a glance at Kira, "Do tell more, Jaina-chan."

Reo sighed, not bothering to look up from her sketch, "Yamato-san, where's my bagel?"

"Erk..." Yamato jolted standing up, "I'll be getting it now." He rushed off to the counter.

Kira mentally sighed at the distraction and considered thanking Reo for speaking up. But he didn't. Instead, he folded his book and bonked Jaina on the head with it.

"Ow!" Jaina whined, rubbing the spot where the book made contact with her cranium. "What was that for?!"

"For being a big mouth," Kira said. "Now shut up, don't say anything about me or I'll tell everyone about how you never stopped wetting the bed until you were eight."

Jaina gave out a small "eep!" and sipped her milkshake in silent agreement.

Reo couldn't contain her snickers at hearing Kira talk about Jaina wetting the bed until she was eight. She tried to hide it by pulling her sketchbook up higher to hide her face.

Soon, Yamato returned with the bagel and set it in front of Reo, "One bagel for Reo-hime" He then sat back down in his seat, leaning back in the chair, "So what I miss?"

"Nothing you'd line up for," Kira answered Yamato's question, sipping his coffee as he opened his book to read again.

Jaina just sipped her milkshake, aware of Kira's threat to her. Of course, she didn't want anyone else to know about her little childhood problem.

"Shame, I was expecting more juicy details about Kira-kun," Yamato shrugged, taking a sip of his chilled coffee, "Oh well, we can always talk about how our little Reo-chuan here, has a crush."

Reo choked into her cappuccino, making her have a coughing fit. She was going to respond to Yamato's statement, but the coughing made it impossible.

Jaina's ears perked up and her straw was dislodged from her mouth when she heard Yamato.

"Really? Reo-chan has a crush?!" she exclaimed happily. "Who is he? Is he cute?"

Reo could feel her ears burning red and when her coughing fit finally ceased, she quickly stood up. "E-excuse me... gotta, you know." She said rushing off into the bathroom.

Yamato grinned knowingly, placing his arms behind head. You're way too obvious Reo-chuan, he thought to himself. "Hey Jaina-chan, why don't you go check and see if she's alright."
